Finally Indian Government took a manly action and decided to hang the Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru. May Allah provide him 72 Virgins in paradise, as Allah has stated in Quran:-
Let those fight in the cause of Allah Who sell the life of this world for the hereafter. To him who fighteth in the cause of Allah,- whether he is slain or gets victory – Soon shall We give him a reward of great (value). Quran 4:74
There are authentic hadiths too, in which Allah promises Virgins to those who are martyr fighting in name of Allah. It is reported in the hadeeth of al-Miqdaam ibn Ma’di Karb that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said:
“The martyr (shaheed) has seven blessings from Allaah: he is forgiven from the moment his blood is first shed; he will be shown his place in Paradise; he will be spared the trial of the grave; and he will be secure on the Day of the Greatest Terror (the Day of Judgement); there will be placed on his head a crown of dignity, one ruby of which is better than this world and all that is in it; he will be married to seventy-two of al-hoor al-‘iyn; and he will be permitted to intercede for seventy of his relatives.” [Source]
May Allah bless Afzal Guru with 72 Virgins in his paradise. Read the report on his hanging:-
Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru has been hanged. The Jaish-e-Mohammad terrorist was hanged at 6.25 am on Saturday. A recommendation to hang him had been sent to the President on January 23. The President gave it his assent on January 26.
Afzal was awarded death sentence by a Delhi court on December 18, 2002 after being convicted of conspiracy to attack Parliament on December 13, 2001. The death sentence was upheld by Delhi High Court on October 29, 2003 and finally his appeal was rejected by the Supreme Court two years later on August 4, 2005.
Nine security personnel, including five policemen, were killed when suspected Pakistan-backed terrorists had attacked Parliament.
Afzal Guru’s execution had been initially scheduled on October 20, 2006. The execution was stayed after his wife filed a mercy petition with the President.
Even as Guru remained on death row, some political parties and human rights activists claimed that he had not received a fair trial and pleaded that his sentence be commuted. The BJP, on the other hand, demanded that he be hanged at the earliest.
The demand intensified after the 26/ 11 terror attack. The BJP accused the government of dragging the matter because it feared losing Muslim votes.
The MHA sent his mercy plea recommendation in August, 2011. On December 10, 2012, Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde said that he would examine Afzal Guru’s file after Parliament’s winter session concluded on December 22.
