Islamic Terrorist group Jaish-e-Muhammad, Plans to strike India again

[Deccan Herald] India is worried over reappearance of Maulana Masood Azhar, leader of militant group Jaish-e-Muhammad.

When a new administration takes over after national elections in India in May, one of the first challenges it is likely to face will come from the Kashmir valley. Adding to the Indian government’s worries about the return of violence in the region, particularly among the youth, is the reappearance of Maulana Masood Azhar, the leader of the Pakistani militant group Jaish-e-Muhammad.

Azhar was arrested and detained in Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, in 1994 on terrorism charges but was freed by India in 1999 in exchange for passengers of an Indian aircraft that was hijacked by Harkat-ul-Mujahedeen, which has fought India in Kashmir. Two years later, Azhar was suspected by the Indian government to have been the mastermind behind a suicide attack on the Indian Parliament, which killed nine people. That attack brought India and Pakistan, two nuclear powers, to the brink of war. Up to a million troops were mobilised on both sides of the volatile Line of Control, the disputed border between the two countries.
For the past few years, Azhar appeared to be lying low in his home city of Bhawalpur, in Pakistan’s Punjab province. But on January 26, India’s Republic Day, he spoke by telephone to a huge rally of supporters in Muzaffarabad, in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, and declared that the time had come to resume jihad, or holy war, against India, according to two Indian intelligence officials, who asked not to be named because they were not authorized to speak to the media. A Reuters report said that Azhar spoke from an undisclosed location and that the Muzaffarabad gathering displayed flags of Jaish-e-Muhammad, the group he formed in Pakistan after his release in 1999, that were inscribed with the word “jihad.” Jaish-e-Muhammad was banned in Pakistan in 2002 by then-President Pervez Musharraf, who came under heavy criticism for doing so.

India’s response

The two Indian intelligence officials said the Indian government responded to Azhar’s speech by increasing security at private airstrips and at airports, although no area was on high alert yet. They also said the rally in Muzaffarabad and Azhar’s address would not have been possible without Pakistani state clearance, a charge that Pakistan strongly denies. “Azhar being back in circulation is predictable,” said C Uday Bhaskar, a retired navy commodore who is a strategic affairs analyst in India.

On February 5, Pakistan observed Kashmir solidarity day, a public holiday that is used by some local right-wing groups to call for an end to what they see as an Indian occupation in Kashmir. For the past decade, when the militancy was on the decline, the calls by the Pakistani organisations were not met with much enthusiasm. This year, however, the response to rallies in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir was energetic. On the eve of Kashmir solidarity day, the National Assembly of Pakistan, its lower House of Parliament, unanimously passed a resolution reiterating Pakistan’s moral, political and diplomatic support to the Kashmiri people.

Ashok Behuria, coordinator at the South Asia Centre at the Institute for Defence Studies and Analyses in New Delhi, said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif of Pakistan “does flaunt his Kashmiri origin and wants to go down in Pakistan’s history as a politician wedded to the cause of Kashmir and Kashmiris.” However, Behuria said Sharif also understands the value of engaging India economically in spite of the Kashmir issue and recognises the importance of a normalisation of ties with India to reduce the importance of the army in Pakistan’s internal politics.

Since 2003, the number of deaths of militants and Indian security officials had been falling every year until 2013. “Kashmir has been simmering for the past year, starting with the clandestine hanging of Afzal Guru,” said Bhaskar, referring to Muhammad Afzal, who was executed on February 9, 2013, for participating in the 2001 attack on the Indian Parliament. “The state’s sense of alienation has increased all through last year.” Yet Muhammad Amir Rana, director of the Pakistan Institute for Peace Studies in Islamabad, disagreed that Azhar’s recent activities meant that militancy would increase in Kashmir, saying that Azhar had been actively participating in militant activities even when in seclusion. “There is no chance of resurgence of Kashmir militancy in the near future, as it will take long to rebuilt jihadist infrastructure,” he said. “The Kashmir-focussed groups  are trying to be alive through mobilising public opinion.”

    Human Terrain Team (HTT) AF-6
    Research Update and Findings

The Human Terrain Team AF-6, assigned to the 2nd Marine Expeditionary Battalion and co-located with British forces in Lashkar Gah, has been requested by these forces to provide insight on Pashtun cultural traditions regarding male sexuality for reasons of enhanced baseline cultural understanding for improved interaction as well as any IO applicability.

Because of the extremely sensitive nature of this investigation, traditional HTT techniques involving a directed research plan and series of interviews executed to generate, test, and confirm hypotheses are not feasible. Direct questioning of Pashtun male interviewees on the subject is further hindered by the female gender of the social scientist writing. Instead, findings here will be based upon field observations and interviews responses by Pashtun men which were revealing regarding the topic, although discovered through the lines of questioning of other investigations. As sexuality is an essential building block of all human interaction and culture, these incidences of insight have been abundant, even couched in other research goals.

Secondary interviewees who have had extensive relevant interaction have been debriefed
regarding their experiences. These include public health officers and medics who have treated a number of Pashtun men for sexual conditions, and other service members involved, like HTT, in relationship-building and interpersonal interaction.

Extensive open-source journalistic and academic writings on the subject have been additionally consulted, some involving directly quoted answers from Pashtun interviewees. References are included for further examination.1

    Key Observations
A culturally-contrived homosexuality (significantly not termed as such by its practitioners) appears to affect a far greater population base then some researchers would
argue is attributable to natural inclination.

1 Nevertheless, this work remains an informal paper written in a deployed field environment with the limited open-source resources available and without access to an academic library. The Human Terrain System’s Research Reach-back Center (RRC) may have additional resources on the topic.

Some of its root causes lie in the severe segregation of women, the prohibitive cost of
marriage within Pashtun tribal codes, and the depressed economic situation into which
    young Pashtun men are placed.

    • Other root causes include a long-standing cultural tradition in which boys are appreciated for physical beauty and apprenticed to older men for their sexual initiation.2 The fallout of this pattern of behavior over generations has a profound impact on Pashtun society and culture.

    • Homosexuality is strictly prohibited in Islam, but cultural interpretations of Islamic
teaching prevalent in Pashtun areas of southern Afghanistan tacitly condone it in comparison to heterosexual relationships in several contexts.

    • Pashtun men are freer with companionship, affection, emotional and artistic expression, and the trust bred of familiarity with other men. They often lack the experience of these aspects of life with women.

    • This usurping of the female role may contribute to the alienation of women over
generations, and their eventual relegation to extreme segregation and abuse.

Military cultural awareness training for Afghanistan often emphasizes that the effeminate
characteristics of male Pashtun interaction are to be considered “normal” and no indicator of a prevalence of homosexuality. This training is intended to prevent servicemembers from reacting with typically western shock or aversion to such displays. However, slightly more in-depth research points to the presence of a culturally-dependent homosexuality appearing to affect a far greater population base then some researchers would argue is attributable to natural inclination.

To dismiss the existence of this dynamic out of desire to avoid western discomfort is to risk failing to comprehend an essential social force underlying Pashtun culture—one with a variety of potential implications upon the efficacy and applicability of ISAF efforts and on the long-term future of Afghan society.

2 While researchers may argue whether this can rightly be termed abusive when seen through a lens from within the culture, it is not arguable that it involves a great imbalance of power and/or authority to the disadvantage of the boy involved. (For information regarding the sexual exploitation of boys as part of Taliban and private militia indoctrination of pre-teen fighters, see the New York Times article by Craig Smith regarding “Warlords and Pedophilia” and the Reuters article “Afghan Boy Dancers Sexually Abused by Former Warlords”—both referenced in “Further Reading.”)

HTT is often approached for advice by US and British servicemembers who report
encounters with men displaying apparently homosexual tenancies. These servicemembers are frequently confused in the interpretation of this behavior. The British newspaper article below may be written with an attempt at humor, yet the Marines quoted typify the reaction often seen in service members upon their initial encounters with Pashtun males. As HTT has observed with frequency while on patrols in Helmand and Kandahar provinces, these men are outwardly affectionate toward both one another and male ISAF members, are extremely gentle in their demeanor and touch, and have often taken great care in embellishing their personal appearance with fingernails dyed red, hair and beards hennaed in careful patterns, and eyes very occasionally subtly outlined.

The article titled “Startled Marines Find Afghan Men All Made Up to See Them,” by
Chris Stephen ran in the national newspaper The Scotsman on May 24, 2002. Not even in
reference to the more heavily Pashtun southern areas of Afghanistan, it read:

In Baghram, British Marines returning from an operation deep in the Afghan mountains spoke last night of an alarming new threat—being propositioned by swarms of gay local farmers. An Arbroath Marine, James Fletcher, said: ‘They were more terrifying than the al-Qaeda. One bloke who had painted toenails was offering to paint ours. They go about hand in hand, mincing around the village.’ While the Marines failed to find any al-Qaeda during the seven-day Operation Condor, they were propositioned by dozens of men in villages the troops were ordered to search.

Another interviewee in the article, a Marine in his 20’s, stated, “It was hell… Every village we went into we got a group of men wearing make-up coming up, stroking our hair and cheeks and making kissing noises.” Beyond reacting to the unusual sight of made-up men, which one can readily accept as a style unique to a different culture, these Marines appear to have no doubt that they were being sexually propositioned.

One of the primary and obvious causes of this cultural tendency toward sexual expression
between males is Pashtun society’s extremely limited access to women. Heterosexual relationships are only allowable within the bounds of marriage, and Pashtun honor demands that a man be able to demonstrate his ability to support a wife and family, as well as produce abundant wedding-gifts for the bride and her parents, before he is allowed to marry. Therefore, given the economic situation of most young Pashtun men and the current state of employment and agriculture within the Pashtun regions of Afghanistan, marriage becomes a nearly unattainable possibility for many.

A controversial Los Angeles Times article highlighted this issue and featured an interview with a young Afgan man whose situation was typical of this circumstance:
In his 29 years, Mohammed Daud has seen the faces of perhaps 200 women. A few dozen were family members. The rest were glimpses stolen when he should not have been looking and the women were caught without their face-shrouding burkas. “How can you fall in love with a girl if you can’t see her face?” he asks.
Daud is unmarried and has sex only with men and boys. But he does not consider
himself homosexual, at least not in the Western sense. “I like boys, but I like girls
better,” he says. “It’s just that we can’t see the women to see if they are beautiful.
But we can see the boys, and so we can tell which of them is beautiful.”3

Daud’s insistence that his behavior should not label him as homosexual is the next
important point in understanding the nature of this dynamic, and opens the doors to a complex interrelationship between Islam and its cultural interpretations. Even men who practice homosexuality exclusively are not labeled by themselves or their counterparts as homosexual.

3 Maura Reynolds, “Kandahar’s Lightly Veiled Homosexual Habits” (Los Angeles Times, 3 April 2002).

To identify as such is to admit an enormous sin in Islam—one punishable by death under the Taliban and one that would result in severe tribal and familial ostracization today.4 However, it appears to be the label, not the action or the preference, that poses the greatest problem.
In the context of rural southern Afghanistan, the relationship between Islam (here defined
as the teachings of Prophet Mohammed as expressed in the Koran) and what is believed about Islam by the local faithful can contain vast differences. This is in great part due to a barrier in language and education. Not generally able to understand Arabic, the language of the Koran which is not to be translated, the Muslim faithful of southern Afghanistan rely on the teaching and interpretation of local Mullahs to inform them of what the Koran says. The more rural the area, the far less likely it becomes that even the Mullah himself understands Arabic5 and the more likely that what is taught is based upon local cultural tradition, independent of Islam itself.

Homosexuality is strictly prohibited in Islam, but cultural interpretations of Islamic teaching prevalent in the area tacitly condone it in comparison to heterosexual relationships.

A typical expression, echoed by a number of authors and interviewees, is that homosexuality is indeed prohibited within Islam, warranting great shame and condemnation.
However, homosexuality is then narrowly and specifically defined as the love of another man.
Loving a man would therefore be unacceptable and a major sin within this cultural interpretation

4 A punishment of death for individuals publicly labeled as homosexuals remains a possibility even now, outside of Taliban rule, if enforced by extremist family or tribe members. Familiar recent news highlighted the situation of the young Afghan actor who portrayed a victim of male-upon-male rape in the film The Kite Runner. He had
to be removed from the country due to death threats.

5 Reading and understanding Koranic Arabic are two very different things. Muslims around the world, regardless of their linguistic background, are educated in religious schools to be able to read and recite the Arabic of the Koran. That is, they are taught to recognize, pronounce, and memorize the words in order. However, even this education does not teach students the meanings of the Arabic words they memorize. Students who do not natively speak Arabic, like those of Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, etc., remain dependent on teachers to interpret what is written for them, and these interpretations vary greatly dependent on the culture and agenda of the teachers.
of Islam, but using another man for sexual gratification would be regarded as a foible6—
undesirable but far preferable to sex with a ineligible woman, which in the context of Pashtun honor, would likely result in issues of revenge and honor killings. These killings are a Pashtun, not Islamic requirement, although the two tend to become inexorably bound in the minds of rural villagers.7 Similarly, the social circumstance that has made women foreign and unavailable (excessive veiling, segregation, and exclusion from public life) is generally also attributed to Islam in Pashtun communities, but is in itself a cultural construct, passed and exaggerated through local tradition.

Another example of cultural misinterpretations of Islamic tenants, bent to support
homosexuality over heterosexuality, comes from a U.S. Army medic completing a year-long tour in a rural area of Kandahar province.8 She and her male colleagues were approached by a local gentleman seeking advice on how his wife could become pregnant. When it was explained to him what was necessary, he reacted with disgust and asked “How could one feel desire to be with a woman, who God has made unclean, when one could be with a man, who is clean? Surely this must be wrong.”

The religious basis for his statement lies in the Islamic regulation that women are ritually
unclean for participation in prayer while on their monthly cycle. In the Koran, his tenant does not extend to imply that women are unclean or unapproachable otherwise. However, local cultural interpretations have created the passionately if erroneously held belief that women are

6 Here a religion that prioritizes love and the fair treatment of others is turned on its head and made to condemn love as the greater sin but to tolerate the selfish use and potential abuse of another person as a pecadillo.

physically undesirable. Interestingly, the Koran specifies a number of physical circumstances under which a man can be rendered ritually unclean, but none of these are extended to the belief that he is unclean or undesirable in general. Therefore, it seems possible that such interpretations of Islam are at some point picked and chosen to support already-held beliefs or tendencies.

Interestingly, the same medics treated an outbreak of gonorrhea among the local national interpreters on their camp. Approximately 12 of the nearly 20 young male interpreters present in the camp had contracted the disease, and most had done so anally. This is a merely anecdotal observation and far too small of a sample size to make any generalizations regarding the actual prevalence of homosexual activity region-wide.9 However, given the difficulty in procuring such data, it may serve as some indicator.10
Of greatest interest here, however, is the way the men reacted to the education offered
them so as to avoid the disease in the future. They insisted that they could not have caught the disease sexually because they were not homosexuals—important evidence of the rejection of the label regardless of the actual activities in which a man engages. Instead, they concluded that it was the result of mixing green and black tea, which became a running joke throughout the camp.
They also continued to return for treatment after re-contracting the condition, having not believed

9 Another medical professional’s estimate of homosexual prevalence is featured in Reynolds’ Los Angeles Times article (op. cit.). It reads:
It’s not only religious authorities who describe homosexual sex as common among the Pashtuns. Dr. Mohammed Nasem Zafar, a professor at Kandahar Medical College, estimates that about 50% of the city’s male residents have sex with men or boys at some point in their lives. He says the prime age at which boys are attractive to men is from 12 to 16–before their beards grow in. The adolescents sometimes develop medical problems, which he sees in his practice, such as sexually transmitted diseases and sphincter incontinence. So far, the doctor said, AIDS does not seem to be a problem in Afghanistan, probably because the country is so isolated.
10 These men were also openly observed to simultaneously share the same cots within their sleeping quarters, and did not appear to feel the need to hide or disguise this fact. Again, it appears to be only the label of homosexuality that causes them discomfort.

or heeded the instruction they received.
However, beyond the issues of poverty, segregation, and tacit cultural approval which
apparently contribute to the prevalence of consensual sex among adult men, there seem to be darker underlying dynamics additionally at play. To begin illustrating these, HTT turns to a field experience in which a principle interviewee was a boy in his very early teens. His circumstance, combined with the nonverbal reaction of his adult male companions to the women interviewers present, was revealing regarding the social and cultural factors underlying the exchange. The following is quoted directly from HTT field notes of the incident:

Upon arrival at Camp Leatherneck in Helmand province, HTT was initially limited in its ability to conduct research with foot patrols and therefore sought to engage Afghan truck drivers who came on to the base for general atmospheric information. For the most part, such drivers are staunch allies who take enormous risks, as it is publicly evident that they assist American and Coalition Forces, and they frequently face reprisals from insurgent fighters.
Also to be noted is the fact that truck drivers are highly cosmopolitan in comparison to most rural Afghan populations, as they have seen and traveled within many regions, to include western-influenced metropolitan areas. It should be anticipated that they would be therefore less likely to display local Pashtun resistance to the open and public presence of women.
On day one, HTT met only a group of four or five truck drivers, all of whom were from Helmand, living approximately 50 miles away from the camp. The most striking interviewee was a boy, about 12-14 years old, traveling with a group of older men. He spoke English beautifully, Dari beautifully, Pashto with apparent fluency, and when asked about other languages he knew, said he also spoke Urdu.11 This was an absolutely brilliant child.

Asked why he was traveling with the other men, they identified him as their ‘little mechanic’ and said he could repair any problems they had on the road.
This added greatly to the already very strong impression of the intelligence of
this child. The boy told HTT that he was traveling with his brother, an older truck driver, and that their truck had been hit by an insurgent rocket on their way in. (He

11 These linguistic abilities were confirmed by a fluent Dari speaker who was an HTT member at the time.

was proud to point out the location of impact.) The referenced brother was not present. The boy also explained that while their time on the road could be shortened, they take a circuitous route to the FOB, lasting about 10 days, in an attempt to throw off or avoid Taliban attacks.

I was deeply impressed with the boy, yet experienced a sense of wariness from
the men who combined looks of distaste among themselves with slightly-too slow
requisite politeness toward the two female HTT members present. They had no such apparent problem with the male Human Terrain Analyst or Team Leader. The latter of the two approached in a U.S. Military uniform.12

Therefore, the reaction of the interviewees appeared to be an issue regarding
females, rather than an issue regarding Americans or the American Military.
Nevertheless, I left the interview uplifted thinking that the future of Afghanistan
was in the hands of brilliant, brave children like this.13

This incident was later re-examined in conversation with a group of American
interviewees who together and individually spoke with many, many years experience working directly with the culture in country.14 They reminded me that one of the country’s favorite sayings is “women are for children, boys are for pleasure.” One the interviewees shared stories of how groups of men, i.e. shepherding parties, would always travel with one boy “for fun.”

Sadly, the talented young mechanic came immediately to mind. HTT produced a picture of him with the group of drivers, and the interviewees were quite confident that their worst suspicions were correct. One interviewee then told the story of a time he found a 14-year-old boy quite literally in the hands of a group of Afghan security guards under his command. He physically fought the guards to free the boy and drove him back to Kabul, hours away, returning him home to his family, from whom he had apparently been forcibly taken in order to travel with the guards.

12 Further regarding appearances for future reference, both female HTT members were well-covered in their attire, including long sleeves and pant legs. My own hair was covered with a scarf, while my female colleague’s hair was worn long and down. This may or may not have affected matters, as the men present regarded us both with equal apparent distaste.

13 From HTT personal field notes dated 5 May 2009.

14 HTT interview dated 11 May 2009 conducted at Kandahar Airfield, with former USPI employees. Their previous experience included providing security for the building of the Ring Road over the many years of its construction, and working and living with locally-hired Afghan security details for highly extended periods.

While in many areas of southern Afghanistan such treatment of boys appears to be shrouded in some sense of secrecy, in Kandahar it constitutes an openly celebrated cultural tradition. Kandahar’s long artistic and poetic tradition idolizes the pre-pubescent “beardless boy” as the icon of physical beauty. 19th-century British authors report their observations of Pashtun fighters singing poetic “odes of their longing for young boys.”15 The Los Angeles Times author cited earlier notes this tradition as alive and well in very recent literature:

A popular poem by Syed Abdul Khaliq Agha, who died last year, notes Kandahar’s special reputation. ‘Kandahar has beautiful halekon,’ the poem goes.

They have black eyes and white cheeks.16
Further, even the newly re-emerging musical nightlife of southern Afghan cities idolizes
immature. While these performers themselves may be quite innocent, the reputation of their availability to patrons of the establishments at which they perform is difficult to

Known frequently as halekon, ashna, or bacha bereesh,18 “beautiful” beardless boys are coveted, almost as possessions, by men of status and position for sexual relationships. Further, the more attractive or talented the boy is deemed, the more his presence elevates the status of his patron. In the article “Afghan Boy Dancers Sexually Abused by Former Warlords,” various interviewees state the following:19

‘Everyone tries to have the best, most handsome and good-looking boy,’ said a

former mujahideen commander, who declined to be named.
‘Sometimes we gather and make our boys dance and whoever wins, his boy will
be the best boy.’ Former mujahideen commanders hold such parties in and around
Pul-e Khumri about once a week.
‘Having a boy has become a custom for us. Whoever wants to show off, should have a boy,’ said Enayatullah, a 42-year-old landowner in Baghlan province.
A key feature of this relationship, slightly different form the homosexuality practiced by men with other grown men who have limited access to women addressed earlier, is its more coercive nature rooted in an imbalance of power (economic, rank-associated, status/age-associated, etc.) between the parties involved. According to one observer:
An apparent distinction seems evident in this particular Kandahar variation… The dating and courtship appears more coercive, more opportunistic and seems to take advantage of younger guys who almost have no other choice than to accept the money or gifts from bigger and more powerful ‘commanders’ whose bit of authority is bestowed by their gang-member status, their guns and the shattered legal/police system. 20

Even where the halekon tradition is not “celebrated” per se, it appears to underlie a
number of Pashtun social structures, most notably the recruitment of very young “soldiers” by commanders of paramilitary groups. (This is so much true even today, that current law prohibits “beardless boys” living in Afghan military and police stations.21) This in turn fits under the traditional warrior ethos which defines the role of men within Pashtun culture. This dynamic played a major role in the functioning of the warlord culture that preceded the rise of the Taliban in Afghanistan.

20 Dr. Richard Ammon, a clinical psychologist who maintains an internet database on worldwide homosexual culture at, posted an interview containing this quotation. The article is titled “Interview with Michael Luongo on his return from ‘gay Afghanistan'” and was posted in July of 2004. Micheal Luongo is in turn a recognized researcher of gay culture in non-western societies and author of the book Gay Travels in the Muslim World. Both the interview and the book are referenced in “Further Reading.”
21 Smith, Craig, op. cit. Also noted in the Wikipedia article at and the Sodomy Laws Database, edited by Bob Summersgill, at

By some accounts, the first incident that brought Mullah Omar and the Taliban to
prominence in the eyes of the Pashtun people actually involved a dispute between two warlords over a particularly attractive halekon. This dispute took the pedophilia of the warlords to such an extreme that the locals themselves were repulsed and happy to embrace a force of reform. Tim Reid, in The Times of London writes:
In the summer of 1994, a few months before the Taliban took control of the city,
two commanders confronted each other over a young boy whom they both wanted
to sodomize. In the ensuing fight civilians were killed. Omar’s group freed the
boy and appeals began flooding in for Omar to help in other disputes. By
November, Omar and his Taliban were Kandahar’s new rulers. Despite the
Taliban’s disdain for women, and the bizarre penchant of many for eyeliner, Omar
    immediately suppressed homosexuality.22

Perhaps “repressed” homosexuality would be a more apt statement, as the cultural tendency has not disappeared. However, open displays of homosexuality, in which the label of homosexuality could not be denied, became publicly punishable by crude executions under the Taliban. Now, in the absence of this possibility, the underlying cultural traditions appear to be returning to visible life with greater freedom.

Now that Taliban rule is over in Mullah Omar’s former southern stronghold, it is not only televisions, kites and razors which have begun to emerge. Visible again, too, are men with their ‘ashna’, or beloveds: young boys they have groomed for sex. Kandahar’s Pashtuns have been notorious for their homosexuality for centuries, particularly their fondness for naive young boys. Before the Taliban arrived in 1994, the streets were filled with teenagers and their sugar daddies, flaunting their relationship. It is called the homosexual capital of south Asia.
Such is the Pashtun obsession with sodomy – locals tell you that birds fly over the city using only one wing, the other covering their posterior – that the rape of young boys by warlords was one of the key factors in Mullah Omar mobilizing the Taliban.23

However, the Taliban should not be viewed as free of the culture and tradition of

22 Tim Reid, “Kandahar Comes out of the Closet” (The Times of London, 12 January 2002).
    23 Ibid.

homosexuality of the Pashtun world of which it is a part. Writers have argued that even within the Taliban, the tradition of halekon and the isolation of boys from the influence of family while they are assumed into the identity of a fighting group in which they are also sexually objectified and abused, is precisely what occurred with prevalence behind the walls of the madrasas. The now-iconic Los Angeles Times article on the issue states:
…many accuse the Taliban of hypocrisy on the issue of homosexuality. ‘The Taliban had halekon, but they kept it secret,” says one anti-Taliban commander, who is rumored to keep two halekon. ‘They hid their halekon in their madrasas,’ or religious schools.24
Whatever the source, there is frequently the risk that Pashtun boys will face a set of experiences that mold their beliefs regarding sexuality as adults in ways that are ultimately damaging, both to themselves and to Afghan society. It appears that this set of experiences becomes cyclical, affecting generations, and that his cycle that has existed long enough to affect the underpinnings of Afghan culture itself.
From these findings, a model of this cycle might be ventured. It seems the cycle begins in isolation from the experience of women’s companionship and the replacement of such
companionship with men. Significantly, in the case of Taliban madrasas, many boys spend their formative years without even the influence of motherhood in their lives.25 Women are foreign, and categorized by religious teachers as, at best, unclean or undesirable.26 It is then probable that the male companionship that a boy has known takes a sinister turn, in the form of the expression of pedophilia from the men that surround him. Such abuse would most likely result in a sense of outrage or anger, but anger that can not possibly be directed at the only source of companionship

    24 Reynolds, Maura, op. cit.
25 This is often due to orphanhood or family separation because of refugee circumstances.
26 At worst, women are categorized by such leaders as associated with evil—not unlike many Christian teachings over the years, emphasizing Eve’s role in man’s downfall.

and emotional support a boy knows, and on which he remains dependent. This anger may very
well be then directed at the foreign object—women—resulting in the misogyny typical of
Pashtun Islamism. Men and boys therefore remain the object of affection and security for these boys as they grow into men themselves, and the cycle is repeated.
The fallout from this cycle affects both genders, and could possibly be a part of what leads to violence against women and women’s suppression in Pashtun culture. If women are no longer the source of companionship or sexual desire, they become increasingly and threateningly foreign. Two initial findings add to the cycle of male isolation from women. One, put forward by the Provincial Reconstruction Team in Farah Province,27 who conducted regular round-table discussions with local women, is that boys, even when raised in the home, are separated from their mothers’ care around the age of 7 and are considered the charge of their fathers.
Another, more complex phenomena, highlighted in the Los Angeles Times article as well as the Reuters article28 and others, is that men who take on a halekon often attempt to integrate the boy into their families by marrying him to a daughter when the boy is no longer young enough to play the “beardless” role. This maintains the love relationship between the father and son-in-law which inevitably makes difficult the establishment of a normal relationship with the wife. The once-halekon becomes a father with his new wife, and then begins to seek a teenage

27 Taken from the non-published notes of the “Women’s Engagement Binder” available at the PRT, and followed up upon by interview with former discussion leaders. USAID has taken leadership on the women’s development front in Farah province, and can provide further information on request. The specific notes, titled “Women’s
    Development Ideas,” state:
Though Islamic law stipulates rights to women, in the countryside it ranks behind customary/tribal law which is extremely harsh to women (think village honor code). Add Afghan superstitions and women take the brunt of it. A final influence is the community—for example once a boy reaches the age of 7, he is taken away from his mother and raised by his father. Mothers in law do not help in this process and are generally quite harsh to the younger ladies in a house.

boy with whom he can play the “bearded” role. The children born to this father inevitably
register the nature of their mother’s marginalized role. When to this is added the further isolation that occurs when boys are groomed for the halekon role by fighting groups or madrasas, it becomes almost unimaginable that boys would learn to form a normal and familiar attachment to a woman.29

Talibs and halekon of fighters and other powerful men, when kept from the one
universally nurturing experience of women—their mothers—are left with no way to relate to females whatsoever, and therefore no way to counter the negative labels assigned to women. While these men are excessively mild toward each other, the opposite side to the coin is a tendency to aggression toward women. HTT can again cite anecdotal but personal field experience which typified the way in which the behavior patterns of men, gentle toward one another, can turn quite opposite toward women, and the way these behaviors are imitated and transmitted to the next generation of men. The following took place on patrol in the Maywand district of Kandahar province:

29 This state of affairs perhaps made most evident in the words of the halekon themselves, featured in the article “Afghan Boy Dancers Sexually Abused by Former Warlords” cited in “Further Reading.”
‘I was only 14-years-old when a former Uzbek commander forced me to have sex with him,’ said Shir Mohammad in Sar-e Pol province. ‘Later, I quit my family and became his secretary. I have been with him for 10 years, I am now grown up, but he still loves me and I sleep with him.’
Ahmad Jawad, aged 17, has been with a wealthy landowner for the past two years.
‘I am used to it. I love my lord. I love to dance and act like a woman and play with my owner,’ he said.
Asked what he would do when he got older, he said: ‘Once I grow up, I will be an owner and I will have my own boys.’
But Shir Mohammad, at 24, was already getting too old to be a dancing boy. ‘I am grown up now and do not have the beauty of former years. So, I proposed to marry my lord’s daughter and he has agreed to it.’

Upon exiting the Mullah’s compound, I was confronted with an irate neighbor—a man in middle-age, clean and apparently relatively wealthy in appearance… He expressed his horror that I, a woman, was present with the patrol. He would not make eye contact with me or shake my hand, but instead only referred to me with angry gestures. I maintained a respectful distance while he sat nearby to engage the men of the patrol.

When formally addressing the men, his demeanor changed. He shook hands with each, with every display of gentleness and respect. The traditional first handshake between Pashtun men grips only the first joints of the fingers, and he used this with each, along with much bowing. It was explained to him that I was present in order that men would not enter a compound where women might be seen, and he was significantly appeased…
After this conversation, as the group said their goodbyes and began to move away, the neighbor approached me and extended his hand. I took this to be an invitation to a handshake, offered now that he understood that I was there out of respect for the traditions of his culture rather than in an attempt to disrupt them. When I offered my hand, he took it in a crushing grip and with unexpected strength bent my wrist back into a painful joint lock.

I ultimately wrenched myself from his grip, and as I sought to rejoin my patrol, I was mobbed by the village boys, who I had previously showered with gifts of candy and school necessities, led by the neighbor’s oldest son. This boy appeared to be approximately 11 years old. Grabbing my arm, he attempted to practice the same maneuver his father had demonstrated, to the delight and cheers of the younger boys.

The noise of the children caught the attention of our American interpreter, who returned and scolded them for their behavior. He attempted to shame them by asking “is this the way you would behave at home?” The oldest boy proudly answered that it was, indicating that his mother and sisters were treated with the same violence and disdain. While the encounter with the father hurt my wrist, the encounter with his sons broke my heart.30
In conclusion, due to both cultural restrictions and generational cycles of certain
experiences, Pashtun men are freer with companionship, affection, emotional expression, and the trust bred of familiarity with other men. They often lack the experience of these aspects of life with women. This usurping of the female role may contribute to the alienation of women over

generations, and their eventual relegation to extreme segregation and abuse. If ever the cycle of abuse is to be broken and the Pashtun culture heal itself from its wounds, which continue to fester in patterns of violence and conflict, the role of women as mothers and companions may be key.

The reason a devout Muslim manwhore will hump male anythings, babies, kids, camels, goats, chairs, etc. with/without a slave-whore contract is that one of the ahadith about Mohammed below concerns the issue as to whether or not Muslimity condemns homosexuality, and the concensus of expert Muslimic authority is that this hadith proves that Muslimity DOES NOT condemn it, but, in point of fact – ADVOCATES IT.

A Muslim man fell in love with this 4 year old girl. The guy decided to take the girl and speak to his father for approval, and then inshallah, get married. But when the father saw her, he was smitten by her, so much so that he told the guy “she is no good for you, so I will take her off your hands and I will marry her.” The guy in disbelief, started arguing with his father about who will marry the girl. Seeing no end to the argument, they both decided to take the matter to the local Imam so that he can sort out this problem and judge between them to see who is fit to marry her.

So the father and son were discussing their problems with the Imam and they then introduced the girl to the Imam. The Imam, once he saw her lost his way of dealing justly and he told the father and son that she is no good for both of them, and that he will marry her to take her off their hands! So now the Imam, the son and the father were arguing about who will marry the girl, and once again, there was no end in sight to the argument. The Imam then suggested that they take the matter to the Amir so that he can deal justly in this matter between them.

So the four set out to meet the Amir, and when they finally reached him they told him what was wrong, and when he saw the girl, he was also smitten, so much so that he told the three men who wanted to marry her that she is no good for them and that he will take her off their hands and get married to her! They then all started to argue about who will marry this girl.

The girl seeing this was fed up with the arguing so she suggested something to all four of them. She said that she will run and run and run, and whoever can CATCH her will then be able to marry her. So all of them heard this and they deemed it to be an excellent solution to their arguing and problem.

So the girl started running, and running, and running around in a circle , and then the four men began to run after her.

The girl was so small that she disappeared into a cloud of dust.

So happened they were all running in this circle around Mohammed’s tent.

Mohammed came out to see what the commotion was all about.

    Reexited after retrieving his axe.

On the way back in was heard beseeching the heavens….

“Get off your ass, Allah. Got four faggots on the way.”

    It’s been a swirling controversy,,,

Whether or not Muslimity condemns homosexuality depends on what exactly Allah was to get off his ass FOR

Muslimic authority asserts that to send ’em on to hell Allah WOULD NOT have to get off his ass. Being omnipotent, Allah was perfectly capable of sending ’em on to hell sitting on his ass.

So why did Mohammed order Allah off his ass.

    Must’ve been for something else.

    What was that something else?

Which brings forth another Muslimic myth busted by this hadith.

    Allah LIKES pork.

    or at least being porked.

You know how some people insult Muslims by calling them crude names that are the equivalents of sodomites and bestialists (butt- and goat-f**kers)? It turns out at least the sodomite insult is true! We have it straight from the mouth of none other than a Muslim cleric — a London-based Shiite cleric named Yasser Habib.

In a broadcast on the UK’s Fadak TV on May 24, 2012, Habib calmly and dispassionately asserts that all non-Shiite males — especially the Shiites’ Muslim rivals, the Sunnis — are sodomized at birth by the devil, and grow up to become “passive homosexuals”, i.e., the “bottom” of a homosexual pair who is penetrated in anal sex.

Islamic cleric confirms Muslim men really are sodomites

“Anyone who consents to being called ‘Emir of the Believers’ is a passive homosexual. Omar Ibn Al-Khattab, for example, who willingly assumed this title, was, without a doubt, a passive homosexual. The same goes for the caliphs Othman Ibn Affan, Muawiyya, Yazid, and the rules and sultans of the Umayyad and Abbasid dynasties, as well as some of the rulers and sultans of our day and age.

For example, the king of Morocco bears this title. This is how you know that he is a passive homosexual. This is in addition to the evidence revealed by Western media, which showed that the current king of Morocco is indeed a passive homosexual who belongs to the homosexual community. This was leaked from his palace by his assistants, his servants, and his ‘boys,’ whom he would penetrate and who would penetrate him. They fled to Europe, sought asylum, and exposed all this.

Cleric Yasser Habib exposes Kalifa Umar as a Sodomite

It is told (in the hadith) that Umar Ibn Al-Khattab had an anal disease, which could be cured only by semen. One should know that this is a well-known medical condition, which is also mentioned in sacred texts. Someone who, God forbid, has been penetrated in the anus, a worm grows within him, due to the semen discharged in him…
A disease develops in his anus, and as a result, he cannot calm down, unless. he is penetrated again and again.

The Shiites are undoubtedly protected from this disease, and from committing this abominable and hideous act. As for the Nasibis (who hated the prophet Muhammad’s family), they are definitely afflicted with this homosexuality.
One of the devils is present at the birth of every human being. If Allah knows that the newborn is one of our Shiites, He fends off that devil, who cannot harm the newborn. But if the newborn is not one of our Shiites, the devil inserts his index finger into the anus of the newborn, who thus becomes a passive homosexual. If the newborn is not a Shiite, the devil inserts his index finger into this newborn’s anus, and when he grows up, he becomes a passive homosexual.

If the newborn is a female, the devil inserts his index finger into her vagina, and she becomes a whore. At that moment, the newborn cries loudly, as he comes out of his mother’s womb. Note that some children cry normally at birth, while others cry loudly and incessantly. You should know that this is the work of that devil, according to this narration.”

Islam is NOT a religion, but an insane political system and sex cult populated by the severely mentally impaired.”

When cleric Yasser Habib “says ‘passive homosexual’, he is referring to the receptive, submissive, female-equivalent partner. Dominant, inserting male homosexual activity is universally accepted in Islam. He has no problem with that. It’s grown men ‘catching’ that he has a problem with.”

May peace and the mercy and blessings of Allah be upon you.

We send our condolences to you for the remembrance of the martyrdom of the Greatest Truthful Lady Al-Zahra (may Allah’s blessings be upon her), and may the curse of Allah be upon Omar.

Dear Sheikh, we want you to clarify this narration.

Bukhari narrates in the Book of Hudud (i.e. punishments in which severe physical harm is caused to the body), in the chapter of “The expelment of the people of disobedience and the effeminate men”.

Narrated on the authority of Ibn Abbas, who said:

«The Prophet (may Allah’s blessings be upon him) cursed the effeminate men and the women who assumed the similitude (manners) of men. He said: “Expel them from your houses”, and he expelled such-and-such person, and Omar expelled such-and-such person.»

Does this mean that there was an effeminate man who lived with Omar that was expelled by Omar later on?

How true and authentic is this narration?

    Thank you very much.

In the Name of Allah, the All-Beneficent, the All-Merciful. Praise be to Allah, the Lord of all the worlds, and may blessings and peace be upon our Master, Mohammad, and his good and pure Family, and may the curse of Allah be upon all their enemies.

    Assalamu Alaikum,

    The Sheikh said:

Yes, Omar used to have an effeminate man living in his house, and the reason is well-known.

As for the effeminate man whom the Prophet (may Allah’s blessings be upon him and his family), it was not the Prophet himself who let him enter his house, but rather it was Aisha who let him into her house without any permission from the Prophet (may Allah’s blessings be upon him and his family). As soon as the Prophet (may Allah’s blessings be upon him and his family) discovered that he was in his house and that he was describing the female organ to Aisha; the Prophet expelled him and did not allow him to enter Medina except during Eid days.

Our enemies acknowledge this fact. Ibn Hajar has narrated of Al-Baroudi through his chain of narrators on the authority of Abi-Bakr, son of Hafs, who said: «Aisha said to an effeminate man who was in Medina and who was called ‘Anna’: “Will you not lead us to a woman we can engage to Abdul-Rahman?” He said: “Yes.” Then he described for her a woman whom if one looks at her front, one can see four folded pieces of flesh, and if one looks at her back, one can see eight folded pieces of flesh (due to fatness). The Messenger of Allah (may Allah’s blessings be upon him) heard him, and he said: “O Anna, get out of Medina and go to Hamraa’ul-Aswad, and let your home be there, and do not enter Medina except on those occasions during which the people have Eid.» [1]

In a society where homosexuals and adulterers are stoned to death for “sexual immorality” you would expect a similar outcome for someone caught having sex with an animal. Surprisingly this is not the case.
An Afghan soldier was detained by police after being caught having sex with a donkey in southeastern Afghanistan, a police officer told AFP.
The soldier was discovered with the donkey in an abandoned house in a small village of Gardez, the capital of Paktia province, last week, a local police officer said.
“He was caught in the act by a small boy who immediately told police about what he had seen and police arrested him in action,” the Gardez-based officer told AFP, requesting anonymity.
The soldier claimed he committed the act because he did not have enough money to get married.
After being caught with the donkey in a village about 100km south of the capital Kabul, he was jailed for four days and then released without charge.
According to tradition in south and southeastern Afghanistan, a suitor must pay around $US5,000 ($A6,800) to the parents of the girl he wishes to marry.

The Nablus officer finds sodomy and “similar vices” “not uncommon in some of the towns but less so in the villages where…bestiality is by no mean unknown” and “immorality…rather lightly regarded” in those villages that are closer to the larger towns. In June 2011, a male who was caught having sex with another man’s donkey was fined Rs 50,000. This fine was not imposed for having sex with an animal, but for committing adultery. The raped donkey was labelled a ‘kari’ (an adultress) and eventually honor killed by its owner.

Incredible though it may sound, a donkey was declared ‘Kari’ and shot dead here in a remote area on Monday. The Jirga imposed 110,000 rupees fine on the alleged ‘Karo’.
The reports said that in Village Ghahi Khan Jatoi, a villager Ghazi Khan alias Malang shot dead his donkey on being ‘Kari’ with Sikandar Ali alias Deedo. He attempted to kill Sikander too but the alleged Karo managed to escape and surrendered himself to an influential person of the area.
Sources said the influential person summoned both the parties and imposed 110,000 rupees fine on the Karo. They said Sikander and his family were forced to pay Rs 50,000 on the spot and the remaining amount in two installments.
The sources added that the alleged Karo pleaded innocence at the Jirga, but the Jirga members paid no attention to it. Sikander’s family said he paid Rs 50,000 to save his life otherwise he would have been killed.

The operative phrase is ‘obligatory passage in the adolescent male’s apprenticeship of sexuality’. Obligatory. It means in rural Morocco, Muslim males must have sexual intercourse with animals as part of their sexual apprenticeship.
Also according to the scholars Allen Edwardes and Robert Masters, Ph.D, FAACS, the Muslims of Morocco believe that sexual intercourse with donkeys “make the penis grow big and strong” and masturbation is often scorned by them in favor of bestiality.[12]

The above paper also says “it is prohibited without question by the Shariâ”. But is this alleged prohibition within the Shari’ah extracted (as it must be) from the Qur’an and Hadith, or has this fiqh been derived using external non-Islamic sources?

In contrast with what secular and non-Islamic religious sources say about bestiality, this is what the Qur’an has to say on the subject:
That’s right – absolutely, positively nothing. Unlike the Qur’an’s clear-cut rulings on the morality of homosexuality, Polygamy, rape, and pedophilia, the permissibility of bestiality seems to have been left open to ‘interpretation.’
If Islamic teachings were truly opposed to such a practice, then this omission is somewhat surprising when you consider that, historically, bestiality was indigenously accepted in the Middle-East.[13]

There is no prohibition against bestiality to be found within the two Sahihs. The following hadith is taken from the Sunnah Abu-Dawud collection, not Bukari or Muslim.
Narrated Abdullah ibn Abbas: The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: If anyone has sexual intercourse with an animal, kill him and kill it along with him. I (Ikrimah) said: I asked him (Ibn Abbas): What offence can be attributed to the animal/ He replied: I think he (the Prophet) disapproved of its flesh being eaten when such a thing had been done to it.
    Abu Dawud 38:4449
Sounds too good to be true, doesn’t it? And it is. Just look at the very next hadith.
Narrated Abdullah ibn Abbas: There is no prescribed punishment for one who has sexual intercourse with an animal.
    Abu Dawud 38:4450
This is a very clear contradiction. How can one hadith say kill the person committing bestiality, and the very next one say there is no prescribed punishment for the same person? Both statements cannot be true.
What’s worse; these two contradictory hadiths (transmitted through different isnad) have been attributed to the same person. Abu Dawud himself had said the former of the two hadith is “not strong” and the latter further “weakens” it.[14]
From the above, we can gather that Robert Masters had correctly stated, “bestiality was not specifically prohibited by the Prophet,”[9] so there is little wonder that Islamists generally shy away from mentioning Abu Dawud 38:4449 in their pronouncements on bestiality.

As we have previously mentioned, there is no prohibition against bestiality to be found within the two Sahihs (Authentic). However there does exist a certain hadith and commentary by the renowned Islamic scholar al-Nawawi, which is of interest.
The following narration does not exist in the English translations of Sahih Muslim, but a similar (but sanitized version) appears in: Sahih Muslim 3:684

“The prophet — peace be upon him — said, ‘If one sits between a woman’s four parts (shu’biha Al-arba’) and then fatigues her, then it necessitates that he wash.’
In the hadith of Mattar it is added ‘even if he does not ejaculate (yunzil).’ Zuhair narrated among them using the phrase ‘Ashba’iha Al-arba’. It was also narrated by Muhammad Ibn Umar Ibn Ibad Ibn Jablah, narrated Muhammad Ibn Abi Uday, narrated by Muhammad Ibn Al-Mathny, narrated by Wahb Ibn Jarir who both related from Shu’bah who narrated from Qatada who gave this same chain of transmission, except that in the hadith of Shu’bah it has the phrase ‘then he labored’ but did not have the phrase ‘even if he does not ejaculate.’

    IMAM AL-NAWAWI (1234 — 1278 AD)

Below is a short bio of al-Nawawi, whose commentary of Sahih Muslim is second only to Ibn Hajar’s commentary of Sahih Bukhari.[15]
Imam Yahya ibn Sharaf al-Nawawi was born in the village of Nawa in Southern Syria, Nawawi spent most of his life in Damascus where he lived in a simple manner, devoted to Allah, engaging single-mindedly in worship, study, writing and teaching various Islamic sciences. The life of this world seems scarcely to have impinged upon him. He was a versatile and extremely dedicated scholar whose breadth of learning was matched by its depth.
Imam Nawawi died at the young age of 44 years, leaving behind him numerous works of great importance, the most famous of these being:
    • al-Arba’un Nabawi (An-Nawawis Forty Hadith)
    • Riyadhus saleheen
    • al-Maqasid (Al-Nawawi’s Manual of Islam).
    • Kitab al-Adhkar,
    • Minhaj al-Talibin (a main reference for Shafi’i fiqh)
    • Shar’ Sahih Muslim (he was the first to arrange the sahih of Muslim in the now familiar categories)
Although best known for his works in hadith, Yahya ibn Sharaf al-Nawawi (d. 676/1277) was also the Imam of the later Shafi’i school of Jurisprudence, and widely acknowledged as the intellectual heir to Imam Shafi’i. He was a renowned scholar and jurist who dedicated his life to the pursuit of Islamic learning.

Commentary of Imam Al-Nawawi on the Hadith
The saying of the prophet — peace be upon him- ‘When he sits between her fours parts) mostly its a home animal (shu’biha Al-arba) and has intercourse with her then fatigues her’

In another narration the word ‘Ashu’biha’ is used. The scholars have disagreed about the intended meaning of ‘shu’biha Al-arba’ (the fours) for some said that it means the arms and the legs, while others have said that it refers to the legs and thighs, and other said it means the legs and the edge of the pubic area. Al-Qadi Ayad chose the meaning of the four areas surrounding the vagina. The word (Shu’b) means areas, its singular form being (Shu’bah). As for those who say (Ashba’iha) that is the plural of the word (Shu’b).
The word Aj-hada-ha (fatigue her) means to plow her, which was also stated by Al-Khatabi. Others have said it means to make her reach exhaustion as in the phrase ‘she made him toil and labor till he was exhausted’. Al-Qadi Ayad — may Allah rest his soul- said ‘Primarily, the word (Jahada’ha) means that the man exerted his effort working in a woman, where the word (Juh’d) means energy and refers to motion by describing the type of work. This is similar to his (the prophet) saying ‘he who plowed her’ meaning he who penetrated her by his motion. Otherwise, what other fatigue could a man experience because of her, and Allah knows best.

The meaning of the hadith is that the necessity to wash is not limited to when semen is ejaculated, rather it is when the penile head (Hash-fa, lit. “the head of the male member,” i.e. head of the penis) penetrates the vagina, then it is necessary for the man and the woman to wash. There is no disagreement on this today, even though there was disagreement on this by some of the early companions and others later. However, an agreement was later reached and this is what we have shown and presented previously.
Our companions have said that if the penile head has penetrated a woman’s anus, or a man’s anus, or an animal’s vagina or its anus then it is necessary to wash whether the one being penetrated is alive or dead, young or old, whether it was done intentionally or absentmindedly, whether it was done willfully or forcefully.

This also applies if the woman places the male member inside her while the man is asleep, whether the penis is erect or not, whether the penis is circumcised or uncircumcised. All these situations require that the person committing the act and the one the act is committed on must wash themselves, unless the person committing the act or the person the act is committed on is a young male or female. In that case it cannot be said that the person must wash, for they do not have the responsibility, rather it is said that this person is in a state of impurity. If that person can discern (the sexual act) then his guardian can command him to wash just as he commands him to perform the ablution washing for prayers. For if he prays without washing, his prayer has not been performed correctly; likewise if he doesn’t wash after he reaches puberty he must be forced to wash. If he washed as a youth and then reaches puberty, then he does not have to repeat the washing.

Our companions have said that intercourse occurs when a healthy male’s penile head completely penetrates (an orifice), as has been unanimously agreed. Thus, when the penile head has completely disappeared (inside the orifice), then all the regulations concerning washing apply. It is unanimously agreed that it is not necessary that the entire penile shaft penetrate to apply the regulations of washing. If part of the penile head penetrates, then the regulations of washing are not imposed as is agreed, except by an odd few of our companions who said that even in this case all the regulations of washing apply. However, this opinion is wrong, rejected and abandoned. If the male member was severed and what remained was less than the length of the penile head, then none of the washing regulations apply. If the part remaining was equal in length to the penile head length then that part must completely penetrate for the regulation of washing to apply. If the part remaining was greater in length to the penile head length then there are two famous opinions for our companions. The most correct is that if the portion that penetrates is equal to the length of the penile head, then the regulations for washing apply. The other opinion is that none of the regulations for washing apply until the entire remaining length of the penile shaft completely penetrates and Allah knows best.
If a man wraps a sheath around his male member and then ejaculates inside a woman’s vagina, then there are three opinions from our companions. The most famous is that the man must wash. The second is that he does not have to wash because he ejaculated inside the sheath. The third is that if the sheath is thick and prevents climax and wetness (in the vagina) then washing is not necessary, otherwise it is necessary and Allah knows best.
If a woman inserts (in her vagina) an animal’s penis she must wash, and if she inserts a detached penis (thakaran maktu-an, lit. “a severed male member”) there are two opinions; the most correct is that she must wash.

Some Sunni Islamic scholars have ruled that bestiality does not invalidate the hajj or ones fast.
ولو وطئ بهيمة لا يفسد حجه

“If he had sexual intercourse with an animal, that will not make his hajj void”
    Abu Bakar al-Kashani (d. 587 H), Badaye al-Sanae, Vol. 2, p. 216
“Sex with animals, dead people and masturbation, does not invalidate one’s fast provided ejaculation does not occur”
Allamah Hassan bin Mansoor Qadhi Khan, Fatawa Qadhi Khan, Page 820
Others have said it is halal.

Sex with animals before the mission (Islam) was wide spread and many narrations are narrated that it is halal but makrooh (disliked). And on the compulsory precaution one should abandon this practice that may cause self harm. And you must admit this to the owner of the sheep and pay the owner.
    Sex with animals Fatwa
    al-Uzma Seyyid Ali al-Sistani

From all of the above, we can certainly see that, unlike the West, Islamic societies do not universally harbor negative attitudes towards bestiality. Many Muslims seek out gratification or are indifferent to this perversion, and in some cases it is even openly promoted and made obligatory.
This is all in stark contrast with their attitudes towards homosexuality and their allowance of pedophilia. Therefore to claim that the West without the guidance of Islam has allowed bestiality is not only false, but hypocritical when you consider that this perversion, alongside pedophilia, is left largely unhindered by the Islamic clerisy in their societies and runs rampant among followers of Islam.
Aside from their own embarrassment, we can also see that there is little basis for any Shari’ah prohibition of bestiality/zoophilia as the Qur’an and the Sahih Hadiths (Bukhari and Muslim) do not prohibit this unnatural practice, furthermore the references we have examined outside of the two Sahihs are considered weak.

    • “Clever Satan” : you know nothing else but have your mind churned by thoughts of only sodomy? Islam is better than Catholicism as it ended the White supremacy over others…you scum~~! You must be missing your haydays of killing at will others, grabbing their land, women. You must be missing your days of colonizing others and dominating others through subjugation. Islam stopped all that….it is very painful, isn’t it???

Like or not, toilet protocols, as prescribed in Islam, are mandatory to all Muslims. Non Muslims might loathe reading this episode on Islamic toilet voodoo, as it contains obnoxious, tasteless, indecent, and uncivil manners and customs, largely followed by desert Bedouins during Muhammad’s time. Lest we forget, Allah will never forgive a Muslim for deviating from His standard of Islamic toilet habits as demonstrated by Muhammad.

First, let us focus on a few verses of the Qur’an where Allah says a Muslim must emulate Muhammad’s manners, traditions, and practices at all time.

In verses 3:132 and 4:80 Allah says that obeying Him and Muhammad (i.e., Muhammad’s examples) is mandatory. This means Muslims have no choice but to follow Muhammad’s deeds, as this constitutes the obeying the commands of Allah. A similar command is echoed in verse 33:36 where Allah stipulates that provisions (rules and examples, even toilet rules) set by Allah and Muhammad are binding to all Muslims; there are no alternatives. Ibn Kathir adds more punch to Allah’s command He writes that this verse is general in meaning and applies to all matters, i.e., if Allah and His Messenger decreed a matter, no one has the right to go against that, and no one has any choice or room for personal opinion on that case.
Allah decrees in verse 33:21 that He has made Muhammad an excellent example for the believers to follow and in verse 68:4 Allah reminds the Muslims that Muhammad is the exalted (ultimate/excellent) standard of character. Ibn Abbas says that Muhammad has great character traits with which Allah has honoured him.
Allah promises great rewards for emulating Muhammad’s habits, manners, and instructions. In verse 33:71 Allah declares that obeying Allah and Muhammad are the highest achievements, and in verse 3:31 Allah sets a condition that if any Muslim loves Allah then he/she must follow Muhammad, and Allah will forgive his/her sins. Verse 4:13 guarantees paradise for those who blindly obey Muhammad.

Allah prescribes severe punishment for not emulating Muhammad. In verse 47:33 Allah says that if Muslims do not obey Muhammad, then He will nullify all their good deeds. In verse 48:13 we read that Allah has prepared a blazing fire for those who reject Him and his apostle Muhammad. In verse 58:5 Allah has decreed that those who reject Allah and His messenger (Muhammad) will be reduced to dust.

Here is what Ash Shifa (p.316) writes about imitating Muhammad absolutely:

It is also known that the Companions were in the habit of imitating the actions of the Prophet, whatever they were and in every way, just as they obeyed whatever he said. They threw away their signet rings when he threw his away. They discarded their sandals when he discarded his. They used as a proof for facing Jerusalem when going to the lavatory the fact that Ibn ‘Umar saw him doing so. Others found a proof for other actions both in the category of worship and general custom by saying, “I saw the Messenger of Allah do it.”

Once we acknowledge Allah’s dicta in the above paragraphs we will understand why the Muslims follow a few weird toilet manners, though those habits were the customs of the Arab Bedouins millennia ago. In Islam, there is no date of expiry of Muhammad’s traditions and practices they are eternal.

It is also important to keep in perspective the primitive toilet facilities in Muhammad’s household. The truth is: Muhammad, including his wives, used to relieve themselves in the open desert, under the open sky. The males could defecate any time of the day or night, but Muhammad’s wives were restricted to answer their calls of nature only at night. Described by a few ahadith, we have a glimpse of the abject toilet facilities in Muhammad’s family. Here are a few examples:

Wives of Muhammad answered the call of nature in the open field…(Sahih Bukhari, 1.4.148, 149)
During Hajj some of Muhammad’s companions had their penises dripping with prostrate fluid… (Sunaan Abu Dawud, 2.10.1785)

When defecating together (two men) do not converse, do not look at each others private parts… (Sunaan ibn Majah, 1.342)

Carry three stones while relieving yourself in desert…(Mishkat, 1.186)

To be certain, let us read in full, one hadis from Sahih Bukhari:
Sahih Bukhari Volume 1, Book 4, Number 148:
        Narrated ‘Aisha:
The wives of the Prophet used to go to Al-Manasi, a vast open place (near Baqia at Medina) to answer the call of nature at night. ‘Umar used to say to the Prophet “Let your wives be veiled,” but Allah’s Apostle did not do so. One night Sauda bint Zam’a the wife of the Prophet went out at ‘Isha’ time and she was a tall lady. ‘Umar addressed her and said, “I have recognized you, O Sauda.” He said so, as he desired eagerly that the verses of Al-Hijab (the observing of veils by the Muslim women) may be revealed. So Allah revealed the verses of “Al-Hijab” (A complete body cover excluding the eyes).
The above hadis also tells us why Muhammad imposed veils on Islamic women.
We will now examine a few outstanding features of Islamic toilets.

If we happen to be in an Islamic Paradise, we might be completely surprised that many Muslims still believe these Islamic voodoos. For example, if you are in a village in Bangladesh or Pakistan, you will come across with many devout Muslims who will vouch that they had seen jinns inside their primitive latrines. A few of them might even swear that the local Imam or an Islamic mendicant had been able to chase out jinns and devils from their toilets when the jinns or devils caught their women in the toilets. Note that it is usually the women (pretty ones) who fall victims to the jinns and devils residing in rural Islamic latrines.

Please do not laugh. If we were to believe the following ahadith then it is certainly true that Islamic toilets are the perennial abodes of jinns and devils.

In Sunaan Abu Dawud (1.0006) we read that toilets are frequented by jinns and devils. Sunaan ibn Majah (1.296) writes that devils visit public toilets.

Let us read in full the first hadis:
Sunaan Abu Dawud, Book 1, Number 0006:
        Narrated Zayd ibn Arqam:
The Apostle of Allah (peace_be_upon_him) said: These privies are frequented by the jinns and devils. So when anyone amongst you goes there, he should say: “I seek refuge in Allah from male and female devils.”

Since jinns and devils visit Islamic toilets, Muhammad instructed his followers to offer prayer when entering a lavatory. We have already read a hadis on this. Here are a few more.

Pray when answering the call of nature…(Sahih Bukhari, 1.4.144)

When you enter a lavatory say, “O Allah, I seek refuge in Thee from wicked and noxious things.”… (Sahih Muslim, 3.0729)

When entering a toilet, say a prayer: O’ Allah I seek refuge with you from all offensive and wicked things (evil deeds and evil spirits)… (Sunaan Nasai, 1.19)
To screen you from jinns, when visiting toilet say Bismillah… (Sunaan Tirmidhi, 130)

Please do not be offended when you read this weird Islamic Toilet manner. In Islam, it is haram to hold your penis with your right hand when you defecate or urinate. Regarding your penis manner, while in an Islamic Toilet, there are many ahadith, in all the Sahih Sitta (the six authentic) on this specification of Allah. In many of these ahadith Muhammad (that is, Allah), specified that when inside a toilet one may use his left hand to hold his penis. We may wonder about women, I am yet to find a hadis where Allah has specified that women cannot hold (touch) their pudenda with their right hand. So we may assume that women are free to use either hand to cleanse themselves.

Here is a collection of a few interesting ahadith on Islamic manners of cleaning yourself in the toilet.
Do not breath while drinking water; do not touch penis in lavatory and do not cleanse private parts with your right hand… (Sahih Bukhari, 1. 4.155)

While urinating, do not hold penis with your right hand… (Sahih Bukhari, 1.4.156)

While in a toilet do not touch penis with your right hand… (Sahih Muslim, 2.0512)

While urinating or defecating do not touch your penis with your right hand… (Sunaan Abu Dawud, 1.1.0031)

When urinating do not touch your penis with your right hand… (Sunaan Nasai, 1.24, 25)

Use left hand for private parts…(Mishkat, 1.185)

Do not touch male organ with right hand… (Mishkat, 1.183)

Use left hand for touching private parts… (Mishkat, 1.185)

In the Qur’an there is very little or none about Allah’s stipulation on Islamic Toilet procedures. However, some Islamic scholars believe that Allah revealed verse 9:108 in connection with the proper method of cleaning oneself after defecating. Let us read verse 9:108 from the Qur’an and a hadis from Sunaan
        Abu Dawud:

9:108. Never stand you therein. Verily, the mosque whose foundation was laid from the first day on piety is more worthy that you stand therein (to pray). In it are men who love to clean and to purify themselves. And Allâh loves those who make themselves clean and pure (i.e. who clean their private parts with dust [i.e. to be considered as soap) and water from urine and stools, after answering the call of nature] (Tr. Hilali and Khan).

Please note that the translators have inserted their own comments. They are of the opinion that in Islamic ritual of defecating dust may be considered as soap.

Here is what a hadis says:

Sunaan Abu Dawud, Book 1, Number 0044:
        Narrated Abu Hurayrah:
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: The following verse was revealed in connection with the people of Quba’: “In it are men who love to be purified” (ix.108). He (Abu Hurayrah) said: They used to cleanse themselves with water after easing. So the verse was revealed in connection with them.

One compulsory provision of Islamic toilet manner is that during defecation a Muslim must position himself in such a manner that neither his face (that is, penis or women’s vulva) nor his back (that is, buttock) should face the Qibla (Kaba). Muslims must obey this rule whether defecating in an open desert or inside a latrine in his house.

Here are a few ahadith on this:

While defecating in the open space neither face nor turn your back towards Qibla (Kaba); instead, face the east or the west… (Sahih Bukhari, 1.4.146)

While excreting or urinating do not face the Qibla…(Sahih Muslim, 2.0504)

When defecating in the desert do not face Qibla nor turn your backside towards Qibla; use three sods and your right hand to cleanse your private parts… (Sunaan Tirmidhi, 128)

While defecating do not face or show backside to Allah… (Mishkat, 1.185)

Interestingly, Muhammad, at times, had violated Allah’s rules. Here is the proof:

Muhammad urinated by turning his face towards the Qibla…(Sunaan ibn Majah, 1.325)

Muhammad defecated facing Jerusalem… (Sahih Bukhari, 1.4.147)

Muhammad stipulated that if you wear a ring, you must remove it when going inside a toilet. True to this funny Islamic Toilet protocol, a hadis in Sunaan Abu Dawud (1.0019) and Sunaan ibn Majah (1.3033) state that Muhammad used to remove his ring when visiting a toilet.

Another interesting hadis in Sahih Muslim (7.2942) says that a Muslim can defecate in a river. In this case there might not be any necessity to cleanse his anus, as river water will do the job. Curiously, a hadis in Sunaan Nasai (1.50, 51) says that having defecated, and having cleansed yourself, you should rub two hands on earth.

Here are a few more interesting ahadith on defecating in Islamic manner:

After defecating do not use bones or dung; use stones to cleanse yourself… (Sahih Bukhari, 1.4.157)

Use odd number of stones (minimum three) to clean your private parts… (Sahih Bukhari, 1. 4.162)

Use three stones to clean yourself after defecating… (Sunaan Abu Dawud, 1.0040)

When visiting a toilet carry three stones with you… (Sunaan Abu Dawud, 1.1.0040)

After you defecate, use two clods of earth; do not use dung… (Sunaan Nasai, 1.42)

If you defecate in a desert use three stones, no need to use water… (Sunaan Nasai, 1.44)

If we are confounded with bizarre Islamic rules on defecating, here are more rules on urinating Islamically.
        1. Do not urinate in stagnant water… (Sunaan ibn Majah, 1.343)
        2. Do not urinate standing; Umar did that but Muhammad reprobated him… (Sunaan Tirmidhi, 133)
        3. At night you may urinate in a vessel… (Sunaan Nasai, 1.32)
        4. At night Muhammad used to urinate on a wooden vessel… (Sunaan Abu Dawud, 1.0024)
        5. Do not urinate in a hole… (Sunaan Nasai, 1.34)
        6. Urinate in a soft ground… (Mishkat, 1.185)
        7. Do not urinate in a place of bath and then take bath there… (Sunaan Nasai, 1.36)
        8. Do not return salutation when you are urinating… (Sunaan Nasai, 1.37)
        9. After urinating sprinkle water on your private parts. (Sunaan Nasai, 1.136, 137)
As was often the case, Muhammad had violated his own rules on urination.
        Muhammad urinated standing…(Sahih Bukhari, 1. 4.226)
Muhammad had urinated standing…(Sunaan ibn Majah, 1.305

Here are a few interesting rules on Islamic bath (ghusl):

Females cannot use the leftover water by males, but the males can use the leftover water by females…(Sunaan Abu Dawud, 1.0081)

Muhammad forbade the use of leftover water by females to be used by males…(Sunaan Abu Dawud, 1.0082)
Muhammad and his wives took bath from the same vessel of water…(Sunaan ibn Majah, 1.379)

Leprosy is caused by taking bath in water exposed to the sun…(Mishkat, 1.245)

He found this sleeping woman an Angelic beauty…and inside his turban his head went spinning…wanted to do sex in the plane!!!

Washington: A 61-year-old Indian national has been arrested in the US on charges of sexually assaulting a fellow woman passenger aboard a domestic flight.

Devender Singh, who lives in Baton Rouge, was arrested on Sunday by the FBI after the plane arrived in Newark.

According to the filed complaint, Singh was seated next to a woman who occupied a window seat on a United Airlines flight from Houston to Newark. The woman did not know Singh.

While the plane was in the air, the woman fell asleep and his dreams of having sex there and there started!

He kissed her face and sexually assaulted her while she was sleeping.

The woman’s eyes opened suddenly and found the Sardar almost on top of her ; “After pushing Singh off of her and telling him to get away, the woman went to the back of the plane and told a flight crew member what had happened, asking that the police be present when the plane landed”.

If convicted, Singh faces a maximum potential penalty of two years in prison and a $250,000 fine, or twice the gain or loss from the offense. You can imagine what a kiss and the fingering? These sikhs are dangerous and not humble as they pretend to be!

After all…an Indian is a sexual pervert…that is what the semi nude pictures of goddesses in the Temples bombard them with since childhood!

      Quran stops that!!!!!!!!

        RAPE JIHAD:
        Sahih Muslim Book 08. N 3371Marriage
Chapter: Al-Azl (incomplete sexual intercourse): Coitus Interruptus.
Abu Sirma said to Abu Sa’id al Khadri (Allah he pleased with him): O Abu Sa’id, did you hear Allah’s Messenger (May peace be upon him) mentioning al-’azl? He said: Yes, and added: We went out with Allah’s Messenger (May peace be upon him) on the expedition to the Bi’l-Mustaliq and took captive some excellent Arab women; and we desired them, for we were suffering from the absence of our wives, (but at the same time) we also desired ransom for them.
So we decided to have sexual intercourse with them but by observing ‘azl (Withdrawing the male sexual organ before emission of semen to avoid conception). But we said: We are doing an act whereas Allah’s Messenger is amongst us; why not ask him?
So we asked Allah’s Messenger (May peace be upon him), and he said: It does not matter if you do not do it, for every soul that is to be born up to the Day of Resurrection will be born.

Al-’Azl, (العزل) also known as coitus interruptus, is the practice of having sexual intercourse with a woman but withdrawing the penis before ejaculation. Apparently al-’Azl with female captives and slaves was a pretty important topic for Muhammad and his companions as evidenced by the abundance of Hadith material on the subject.
Narrated Jabir: We used to practice coitus interruptus during the lifetime of Allah’s Apostle .

        Sahih Bukhari 7:62:135

Narrated Jabir: We used to practice coitus interrupt us while the Quran was being revealed. Jabir added: We used to practice coitus interruptus during the lifetime of Allah’s Apostle while the Quran was being Revealed.
        Sahih Bukhari 7:62:136

When RAPING your captive, it’s better if you do not pull out at the end

Narrated Abu Said Al-Khudri: that while he was sitting with Allah’s Apostle he said, “O Allah’s Apostle! We get female captives as our share of booty, and we are interested in their prices, what is your opinion about coitus interruptus(RAPE WITHOUT PREGNANCY)?” The Prophet said, “Do you really do that? It is better for you not to PULL OUT. No soul that which Allah has destined to exist, but will surely come into existence.”
        Sahih Bukhari 3:34:432
Abu Said said, “We went with Allah’s Apostle, in the Ghazwa of Barli Al-Mustaliq and we captured some of the ‘Arabs as captives, and the long separation from our wives was pressing us hard and we wanted to practice coitus interruptus. We asked Allah’s Apostle (whether it was permissible). He said, “It is better for you not to do so. No soul, (that which Allah has) destined to exist, up to the Day of Resurrection, but will definitely come, into existence.”

        Sahih Bukhari 3:46:718

We went out with Allah’s Apostle for the Ghazwa of Banu Al-Mustaliq and we received captives from among the Arab captives and we desired women and celibacy became hard on us and we loved to do coitus interruptus. ………
We asked (him) about it and he said, “It is better for you not to PULL OUT, for if any soul (till the Day of Resurrection) is predestined to exist, it will exist.”

        Sahih Bukhari 5:59:459

Narrated Abu Said Al-Khudri: That during the battle with Bani Al-Mustaliq they (Muslims) captured females and wanted sexual relation with them without impregnating them. So they asked the Prophet about coitus interruptus. He said, “It is better that you leave it in, for Allah has written whom He is going to create till the Day of Resurrection.” Qaza’a said, “I heard Abu Sa’id saying that the Prophet said, ‘No soul is ordained to be created but Allah will create it.”

        Sahih Bukhari 9:93:506

Narrated Abu Said Al-Khudri: We got female captives in the war booty and we used to do coitus interruptus with them. So we asked Allah’s Apostle about it and he said, “Do you really do that?” repeating the question thrice, “There is no soul that is destined to exist but will come into existence, till the Day of Resurrection.”

        Sahih Bukhari 7:62:137

Narrated Abu Said Al-Khudri: That while he was sitting with the Prophet a man from the Ansar came and said, “O Allah’s Apostle! We get slave girls from the war captives and we love property; what do you think about coitus interruptus?” Allah’s Apostle said, “Do you do that? It is better for you not to pull out, for there is no soul which Allah has ordained to come into existence but will be created.”

        Sahih Bukhari 8:77:600

Sahih Muslim 8:3371, See also: Sahih Muslim 8:3372

Yahya related to me from Malik from Rabia ibn Abi Abd ar-Rahman from Muhammad ibn Yahya ibn Habban that Ibn Muhayriz said, “I went into the mosque and saw Abu Said al-Khudri and so I sat by him and asked him about coitus interruptus. Abu Said al-Khudri said, ‘We went out with the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, on the expedition to the Banu al-Mustaliq. We took some Arabs prisoner, and we desired the women as celibacy was hard for us. We wanted the ransom, so we wanted to practise coitus interruptus. We said, ‘Shall we practise coitus interruptus while the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, is among us before we ask him?’ We asked him about that and he said, ‘You don’t have to not do it. There is no self which is to come into existence up to the Day of Rising but that it will come into existence.’ ”

        Al-Muwatta 29 32.95b

It’s okay to practice ‘azl when having sex with your slave-girl
Narrated AbuSa’id al-Khudri: A man said: Apostle of Allah, I have a slave-girl and I withdraw the penis from her (while having intercourse), and I dislike that she becomes pregnant. I intend (by intercourse) what the men intend by it. The Jews say that withdrawing the penis (azl) is burying the living girls on a small scale. He (the Prophet) said: The Jews told a lie. If Allah intends to create it, you cannot turn it away.

        Abu Dawud 11:2166

Jabir (Allah be pleased with him) reported that a man came to Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) and said: I have a slave-girl who is our servant and she carries water for us and I have intercourse with her, but I do not want her to conceive. He said: Practise ‘azl, if you so like, but what is decreed for her will come to her. The person stayed back (for some time) and then came and said: The girl has become pregnant, whereupon he said: I told you what was decreed for her would come to her.

        Sahih Muslim 8:3383

Your slave-girl is your field, so water it or leave it thirsty if you want
Yahya related to me from Malik from Damra ibn Said al-Mazini from al-Hajjaj ibn Amr ibn Ghaziya that he was sitting with Zayd ibn Thabit when Ibn Fahd came to him. He was from the Yemen. He said, “Abu Said! I have slave-girls. None of the wives in my keep are more pleasing to me than them, and not all of them please me so much that I want a child by them, shall I then practise coitus interruptus?” Zayd ibn Thabit said, “Give an opinion, Hajjaj!” “I said, ‘May Allah forgive you! We sit with you in order to learn from you!’ He said, ‘Give an opinion! ‘I said, ‘She is your field, if you wish, water it, and if you wish, leave it thirsty. I heard that from Zayd.’ Zayd said, ‘He has spoken the truth.’ ”

        Al-Muwatta 29 32.99b

“You don’t need your slave-girl’s permission to practice ‘azl with her.”
Yahya related to me from Malik from Humayd ibn Qays al-Makki that a man called Dhafif said that Ibn Abbas was asked about coitus interruptus. He called a slave-girl of his and said, “Tell them.” She was embarrassed. He said, “It is alright, and I do it myself.” Malik said, “A man does not practise coitus interruptus with a free woman unless she gives her permission. There is no harm in practising coitus interruptus with a slave-girl without her permission. Someone who has someone else’s slave-girl as a wife, does not practise coitus interruptus with her unless her people give him permission.”

        Al-Muwatta 29 32.100b

        Additional Hadith about ‘azl

        Sahih Muslim

Sa’d b. Abu Waqqas (Allah be pleased with him) reported that a person came to Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) and said: I do ‘azi with my wife. Thereupon Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) said: Why do you do that? The person said: I fear harm to her child or her children. Thereupon Allah’s Messenger (way peace be upon him) said: If that were harmful it would harm the Persians and the Greeks.

        Sahih Muslim 8:3394

Abu Sa’id al-Khudri (Allah be pleased with him) reported: We took women captives, and we wanted to do ‘azl with them. We then asked Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) about it, and he said to us: Verily you do it, verily you do it, verily you do it, but the soul which has to be born until the Day of judgment must be born.

        Sahih Muslim 8:3373

Abu Sa’id al-Khudri (Allah be pleased with him) (was asked if he had heard it himself), to which he said: Yes. (I heard) Allah’s Apostle (may peace be upon him) as saying: There is no harm if you do not practise it, for it (the birth of the child) is something ordained (by Allah).

Sahih Muslim 8:3374, See also: Sahih Muslim 8:3375

Abu Sa’id al-Khudri (Allah be pleased with him) reported that Allah’s Apostle (may peace be upon him) was asked about ‘azl, whereupon he said: There is no harm if you do not do that, for it (the birth of the child) is something ordained. Muhammad (one of the narrators) said: (The words) La ‘alaykum (there is no harm) implies its Prohibition.

        Sahih Muslim 8:3376

Abu Sa’id al-Khudri (Allah be pleased with him) reported that mention was made of ‘azl in the presence of Allah’s Apostle (may peace be upon him) whereupon he said: Why do you practise it? They said: There is a man whose wife has to suckle the child, and if that person has a sexual intercourse with her (she may conceive) which he does not like, and there is another person who has a slave-girl and he has a sexual intercourse with her, but he does not like her to have conception so that she may not become Umm Walad, whereupon he (the Holy Prophet) said: There is no harm if you do not do that, for that (the birth of the child) is something pre- ordained. Ibn ‘Aun said: I made a mention of this hadith to Hasan, and he said: By Allah, (it seems) as if there is upbraiding in it (for ‘azl).

Sahih Muslim 8:3377, See also: Sahih Muslim 8:3378 and Sahih Muslim 8:3379

Abu Sa’id al-Khudri (Allah be pleased with him) reported: Mention was made about al-’azl in the presence of Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him), whereupon he said: Why any one of you practises it? (He did not say: One of you should not do it), for there is no created soul, whose creator is not Allah.

        Sahih Muslim 8:3380

Abu Sa’id al-Khudri (Allah be pleased with him) reported that Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) was asked about ‘azl, whereupon he said: The child does not come from all the liquid (sermen) and when Allah intends to create anything nothing can prevent it (from coming into existence).

Sahih Muslim 8:3381, See also: Sahih Muslim 8:3382

Jabir b. ‘Abdullah (Allah be pleased with them) reported that a person asked Allah’s Apostle (may peace be upon him) saying: I have a slave-girl and I practise ‘azl with her, whereupon Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) said: This cannot prevent that which Allah has decreed. The person then came (after some time) and said: Messenger of Allah, the slave-girl about whom I talked to you has conceived, whereupon Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) said: I am the servant of Allah and His Messenger.

        Sahih Muslim 8:3384

Yahya related to me from Malik from Abu’n-Nadr, the mawla of Umar ibn Ubaydullah from Amir ibn Sad ibn Abi Waqqas from his father that he used to practise coitus interruptus.

        Al-Muwatta 29 32.96b

Yahya related to me from Malik from Abu’n-Nadr, the mawla of Umar ibn Ubaydullah from Ibn Aflah, the mawla of Abu Ayyub al-Ansari from an umm walad of Abu Ayyubal-Ansari that he practised coitus interruptus.

        Al-Muwatta 29 32.97b
Yahya related to me from Malik from Nafi that Abdullah ibn Umar did not practise coitus interruptus and thought that it was disapproved.

        Al-Muwatta 29 32.98b

Yahya said that Malik related from Ibn Shihab from Salim ibn Abdullah ibn Umar from his father that Umar ibn al-Khattab said, “What’s the matter with men who have intercourse with their slave-girls and then dismiss them? No slave-girl comes to me whose master confesses that he has had intercourse with her but that I connect her child to him, whether or not he has practised coitus interruptus or stopped having intercourse with her.”

        Al-Muwatta 36 23.24b

Malik related to me from Nafi that Safiyya bint Abi Ubayd informed him that Umar ibn al-Khattab said, “What is the matter with men who have intercourse with their slave-girls and then leave them to go? No slave-girl comes to me whose master confesses that he has had intercourse with her but that I connect her child to him, whether or not he has practised coitus interruptus or left off from intercourse with her.” Yahya said that he heard Malik say, “What is done in our community about an umm walad who commits a crime is that her master is liable for what she has done up to her value. He does not have to surrender her, and he cannot be made to bear more than her value for her crime.”

        Al-Muwatta 36 23.25b

On October 30, 2008, the United Nations condemned the stoning to death of Aisha Duhulowa, a 13-year-old girl who had been gang-raped and then sentenced to death by a Sharia court for fornication (Zina). She was screaming and begging for mercy, but when some family members attempted to intervene, shots were fired by the Islamic militia and a baby was killed.

Local Sharia courts in Bangladesh regularly punish raped minor girls and women by flogging and beating them with shoes.[1] Similar cases of punishing raped women are Mina v. the State, Bibi v. the State and Bahadur v. the State.[2] Sharia courts in Pakistan have punished thousands of raped women by long term imprisonment.[3]

You might think that such horrific barbarity cannot be the real Sharia law; that it is a misapplication of the law by ignorant clergy. Sadly, neither is true.

There is a traceable dynamic in Sharia Law that is bound to lead to this barbarity. And unless we abandon these laws we will never be able to emerge from this barbarity. It was a blunder that Muslim jurists included rape in the Hudood section of Sharia Law that deals with murder, bodily harm, apostasy, drinking, defamation, theft, adultery and highway robbery. But anyone who tried to change these laws ended up banging their heads against the wall. Mawdudi, the founding father of modern Political Islam, claims that even if all the world’s Muslims together wanted to make the slightest change in these laws, they would not be allowed to do so.[4]

        But change is necessary.

Another key element of these laws is that only eye-witnesses are acceptable and no circumstantial evidence can be accepted.[5] Rape is included in the Dyat (monetary compensation for bodily harm) section of Sharia Law because it is considered as “Bodily Harm” or “Robbing Property” (chastity). This classification led jurists to create these laws:

        * A rapist is obliged to pay the victim the amount typically received as marriage payment to similar brides.[6]

        * “If the rapist cannot be punished for any reason he will pay the victim the amount equal to bride-money.”[7]

As no other punishment is mentioned, the punishment of rape can be only financial compensation. But Jurists missed the point that rape is a crime of its own kind. It has a devastating psychological and social impact on raped women. They are shamed to death, socially outcast, unsuitable for marriage, bring shame on the family and in some countries become the victims of honor killing. Many raped women commit suicide in Muslim countries.

The Quranic word “Zina” means sexual relation between a man and woman not married to each other. It is called adultery for married persons and fornication for unmarried ones. The Quran severely prohibits Zina. Muslim jurists also included rape in the category of Zina because in rape cases such sexual relations “between a man and woman not married to each other,” even though forced on the victim, have taken place. As rape is not mentioned in the Quran, the death sentence for rapists originated from the Prophet’s example: “Narrated Wa’il ibn Hujr: When a woman went out in the time of the Prophet (peace be upon him) for prayer, a man attacked her and overpowered (raped) her. …he said: Stone him to death”.[8]

The laws are so clear about defining rape and the requirement for proof of rape that a judge has no option but punish the rape victims.
When rape is caught or reported, “sex between a man and woman not married to each other” can be proven by testimony, physical evidences of bodily scars/bruises, torn clothing or pregnancy of the victim. Then the Sharia laws are enforced.
Sharia Law: The rapist will be punished to death if force on the victim is proven.[9]
Clear enough. But exactly how can “force on the victim” be proven? The answer must surely rank as one of the most insane and sexist laws in human history.

        (A) “Proof of Zina (adultery) or Zina Bil-Jabr (rape) liable to Hadd shall be one of the following:

        (a) The accused makes confession or
        (b) There are at least four Muslim adult male witnesses”[10]
        (B) “Proof of adultery or rape liable to Hadd shall be one of the following:
        (a) The accused makes confession, or
        (b) There are at least four Muslim adult male witnesses.”[11]
        (C) “Punishment will take place when Zina or rape have been proved by witness.”[12]
        (D) Sharia Law rejects the witness of women in Hudood cases.[13]
        (E) “The evidence of women is originally inadmissible on account of their weakness of understanding, want of memory and incapacity of governing.”[14]

Because such “proofs” are almost impossible to obtain and because circumstantial evidence is not accepted, a rape cannot be proved as rape in a Sharia court. Instead, “sex outside marriage” is proved for the woman by her complaint or physical scars or torn cloths or pregnancy etc. Then the law of “Punishment for Sex Outside Marriage” i.e. stoning to death for married adulterers and flogging and exile for unmarried adulterers are applied to the rape-victims.[15] On the other hand, a rapist has simply to deny the crime and go scott free. As the New York Times reports: “Ms. Lawal, a divorced woman, identified a man as the father of her child. The man denied the charge, swore on the Koran, and was deemed innocent by the trial court. No one suggested DNA tests.”[16]
But DNA tests have no place in Hudood Laws either. The BBC reported that Zafran Bibi of Pakistan “went to the police to register a case of rape, but she herself was instead sentenced to death for having an adulterous affair.”[17] About conducting a DNA test to identify the rapist, the Dawn reports: “Justice Ali Nawaz Chauhan of the Lahore High Court has observed that the DNA test is not acceptable as evidence to establish the offence of Zina under the Hudood laws which require a direct testimony in such cases..”[18]

This is how Sharia Law punishes raped women. The sources of these laws span the period from the 7th century to recent times. Some Muslim countries have withdrawn from the application of these laws, but these laws are still alive and active in many Muslim societies. Many Muslims talk about it, but there has never been a concerted effort to end this barbarity. It is true that many, including the UN’s Children Fund, have expressed alarm over the plight of Aisha Duhulowa, but history tells us that merely condemning these acts or calling on the humanity of the perpetrators has never stopped the violent soldiers of God. The solution can only been found by raising the awareness and opposition of the entire world, irrespective of religion.

Muslims must reject this barbarity or risk Islam being seen as the criminal. The screams of little Aisha Duhulowa will echo around the world until this is done.

Why are rape victims often punished by Islamic courts as adulterers?
        Summary Answer:
Under Islamic law, rape can only be proven if the rapist confesses or if there are four male witnesses. Women who allege rape, without the benefit of the act having been witnessed by four men who subsequently develop a conscience, are actually confessing to having sex. If they or the accused happens to be married, then it is considered to be adultery.
        The Qur’an:
Qur’an (2:282) – Establishes that a woman’s testimony is worth only half that of a man’s in court (there is no “he said/she said” gridlock in Islam).
Qur’an (24:4) – “And those who accuse free women then do not bring four witnesses (to adultery), flog them…” Strictly speaking, this verse addresses adultery (revealed at the very time that Muhammad’s favorite wife was being accused of adultery on the basis of only three witnesses, coincidentally enough) however it is a part of the theological underpinning of the Sharia rule.
Qur’an (24:13) – “Why did they not bring four witnesses of it? But as they have not brought witnesses they are liars before Allah.”
Qur’an (2:223) – “Your wives are as a tilth unto you; so approach your tilth when or how ye will…” There is no such thing as rape in marriage, as a man is permitted unrestricted sexual access to his wives.
        From the Hadith:
Bukhari (5:59:462) – The background for the Qur’anic requirement of four witnesses to adultery. Muhammad’s favorite wife, Aisha, was accused of cheating [on her polygamous husband]. Three witnesses corroborated the event, but Muhammad apparently did not want to believe it, and so established the arbitrary rule that four witnesses are required.
        Additional Notes:
Rape is virtually impossible to prove under strict Islamic law (Sharia). If the man claims that the act was consensual sex, there is very little that the woman can do to refute this. Islam places the burden of avoiding sexual encounters of any sort on the woman.
A recent fatwa from a mainstream Islamic site echoes this rule and even chides a victim of incest for complaining when she has no “evidence”:
However, it is not permissible to accuse the father of rape without evidence. Indeed, the Sharee’ah put some special conditions for proving Zina (fornication or adultery) that are not required in case of other crimes. The crime of Zina is not confirmed except if the fornicator admits it, or with the testimony of four trustworthy men, while the testimony of women is not accepted.
Hence, the statement of this girl or the statement of her mother in itself does not Islamically prove anything against the father, especially that the latter denies it.
Therefore, if this daughter has no evidence to prove that her accusations are true, she should not have claimed that she was raped by her father and she should not have taken him to the court. (, Image)
Since it is incredibly unlikely that a child molester will violate his victim in front of “four trustworthy men”, Islamic law amounts to a free pass for sexual predators.
Islamic law rejects forensic evidence (such as DNA) in favor of testimony. An interesting situation thus sometimes develops in cases where a victim alleges rape and the man denies that sex even took place. In the absence of four male witnesses, rape cannot be proven. The woman’s testimony then becomes a “confession” of adultery. She can be stoned, even though the male is unpunished, since he never “confessed” to a sexual act!
Some clerics blame rape on the woman. Australian Sheik Feiz recently said a rape victim “has no one to blame but herself. She displayed her beauty to the entire world… to tease man and appeal to his carnal nature.”
Also, there can be no such thing as rape in marriage, even if the husband has to hit the wife in order to bring about her submission. Another recent fatwa reminds a woman, she “does not have the right to refuse her husband, rather she must respond to his request every time he calls her.” (Islam Q&A, Fatwa No. 33597).
Keep in mind that most Muslim countries do not operate under strict Islamic law, but rather under legal codes imported from the West. Therefore rape victims in these countries can and often do receive justice under more reasonable standards of proof.

“If a man makes a hole in a watermelon, or a piece of dough, or a leather skin, or a statue, and has sex with it, then this is the same as what we have said about other types of masturbation [i.e., that it is halaal in the same circumstances given before, such as being on a journey].
In fact, it is easier than masturbating with one’s hand”.
“If a woman does not have a husband, and her lust becomes strong, then some of our scholars say: It is permissible for the woman to take an akranbij, which is a piece of leather worked until it becomes shaped like a penis, and insert it in herself. She may also use a cucumber”.
Bada’i al-Fuwa’id of Ibn Qayyim (Islamic scholar), page 129
A Muslim Shia website notes: “Maybe this is another reason why ‘Umar the Khalifa never went on jihad: somebody had to stay behind and organize the cucumber distribution.”

Companions of Muhammad masturbated during Jihad
“If a man is torn between continued desire or releasing it, and if this man does not have a wife or he has a slave-girl but he does not marry, then if a man is overwhelmed by desire, and he fears that he will suffer because of this (someone like a prisoner, or a traveller, or a pauper), then it is permissible for him to masturbate, and Ahmad (ibn Hanbal) is explicit on this.

        2. Furthermore, it is narrated that the Companions of the Prophet (s) used to masturbate while they were on military expeditions or travelling”.
Bada’i al-Fuwa’id of Ibn Qayyim (Islamic scholar), page 129
        Muttaqi (God-fearing) monkeys
Narrated ‘Amr bin Maimun: During the pre-lslamic period of ignorance I saw a she-monkey surrounded by a number of monkeys. They were all stoning it, because it had committed illegal sexual intercourse. I too, stoned it along with them.
        Sahih Bukhari 5:58:188

A marriage is engaged in by 2 consenting adults.
Do you really believe a 6 year old child would desire to marry a 51 year old man?
Do you think that is what she would choose?
Do you think a 9 year old girl would desire to have sex with a 54 year old?

The thought of an old man becoming aroused by a child is one of the most disturbing thoughts that makes us cringe as it reminds us of pedophilia and the most despicable people. It is difficult to accept that the “Holy Prophet” of Mecca married Aisha when she was 6-years-old and WANKED BETWEEN HER THIGHS FOR 3 YEARS and consummated/RAPED her when she was 9. He was then, 54 years old.

Now let us see how thighing is practiced on a female child & who began this evil practice. According to an official Fatwa issued in Saudi Arabia, the prophet Muhammad began to practice thighing his child-bride, Aisha when she was 6 years old until she reached 9 years of age (Fatwa No. 31409). The hadith mentioned the prophet Muhammad started performing literal sex with Aisha ONLY when she reached the age of 9 (Sahih al-Bukhari, book 62, hadith No. 89).

Muslim scholars collectively agree, a child becomes an adult, available for sexual intercourse as soon as she reaches the age of nine. Likewise, the Shari’a allows any of the faithful to marry a six-year-old child.

According to the fatwa, the prophet Muhammad could not have sex with his fiancée, Aisha when she was six due to her small size & age. However, the fatwa said that at age six, he would put his penis between her thighs and massage it gently because he did not want to harm her.

Imagine a man of 51 removing the clothes of a 6-year-old girl and slipping his erect penis between her thighs, rubbing her until he ejaculated and his semen ran down her thighs. To this day, this is considered a benevolent act on the part of the adult male “not wanting to harm her.” What harm could be inflicted upon a young girl mentally and emotionally if not a grown man showing her his penis and stripping her of her clothes and rubbing his male organ between her legs?

Of course the twisted mind that does such an evil to a female child, would not hesitate to ejaculate on her body. And if this sexually perverted evil frame of mind committed such an act upon a child, the pedophile would not stop at ejaculating on her. His evil desire would go further and rape the child before she was a mature adult. This is exactly what Muhammad did to Aisha when she was yet a child of 9.

Before she reached puberty, he began to have sex with her. Let us see what the fatwa said about the prophet of Islam and his child-bride, Aisha.”Praise be to Allah and peace be upon the one after whom there is no [further] prophet. After the permanent committee for the scientific research and fatwas (religious decrees) reviewed the question presented to the grand Mufti Abu Abdullah Muhammad Al-Shamari, with reference number 1809 issued on 3/8/1421(Islamic calendar).

The inquirer asked the following: ‘It has become wide spread these days, and especially during weddings, the habit of mufakhathat of the children (mufakhathat literally translated means “placing between the thighs of children” which means placing the male erected penis between the thighs of a child). What is the opinion of scholars knowing full well that the prophet, the peace and prayers of Allah be upon him, also practiced the “thighing” of Aisha – the mother of believers ?’

After the committee studied the issue, they gave the following reply: ‘It has not been the practice of the Muslims throughout the centuries to resort to this unlawful practice that has come to our countries from pornographic movies that the kofar (infidels) and enemies of Islam send. As for the Prophet, peace and prayers of Allah be upon him, thighing his fiancée Aisha. She was six years of age and he could not have intercourse with her due to her small age.

That is why the prophet peace and prayers of Allah be upon him placed his penis between her thighs and massaged it lightly, as the apostle of Allah had control of his penis not like other believers'” (Fatwa No. 31409).

Thighing of children is practiced in many Arab and Muslim countries, notably in Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Iran, and the Gulf countries. Also evil practices like altamatu’a bil almuka’aba (pleasure from sexual contact with her breasts), altamatu’a bil alsagirah (pleasure from sexual contact with a baby girl), altamatu’a bil alradi’ah, (pleasure from sexual contact with a suckling female infant), (Reported by Baharini Women’s Rights Activist, Ghada Jamshir)

        From the Hadith of Bukhari:

        Volume 1, Book 4, Number 229:

        Narrated ‘Aisha:

I used to wash the traces of Janaba (semen) from the clothes of the Prophet and he used to go for prayers while traces of water were still on it (water spots were still visible).

        Volume 1, Book 4, Number 231:

        Narrated Sulaiman bin Yasar:

I asked ‘Aisha about the clothes soiled with semen. She replied, “I used to wash it off the clothes of Allah’s Apostle and he would go for the prayer while water spots were still visible. ”

        Volume 1, Book 4, Number 232:

        Narrated ‘Amr bin Maimun:

I heard Sulaiman bin Yasar talking about the clothes soiled with semen. He said that ‘Aisha had said, “I used to wash it off the clothes of Allah’s Apostle and he would go for the prayers while water spots were still visible on them.

        Volume 1, Book 4, Number 233:

        Narrated ‘Aisha:

I used to wash the semen off the clothes of the Prophet and even then I used to notice one or more spots on them.

        Volume 1, Book 4, Number 230:

        Narrated ‘Aisha:

        as above (229).

        Sahih al-Bukhari, volume 7, book 62, number 17
        Narrated jabir bin ‘abdullah:
When I got married, Allah’s apostle said to me, “what type of lady have you married?” I replied, “I have married a matron.” he said, “why, don’t you have a liking for the virgins and for fondling them?” Jabir also said: Allah’s apostle said, “why didn’t you marry a young girl so that you might play with her and she with you?”
Hence, Muhammad’s comments indicate that his reason for marrying Aisha while a young virgin is so that he could fondle and sexually play with her!

In the classic history, Sirat Rasul Allah (The Life of Muhammad) by Ibn Ishaq, there is an account in which Muhammad expressed a marital interest in a crawling baby. This event seems to have occurred around the time of the battle of of Badr, when he was about 55 years old. He had married Aisha two years earlier, when he was 53 years of age.
(Suhayli, ii. 79: in the Riwaya of Yunus i. I. Recorded that the apostle saw her (Ummu’lfadl) when she was a baby crawling before him and said,
‘if she grows up and I am still alive I will marry her.’
but he died before she grew up and sufyan b. Al-aswad b. ‘Abdu’l-asad al-Makhzumi married her and she bore him rizq and lubab… [Ibn Ishaq, The Life of Muhammad, Karachi, p. 311]
Muhammad saw Um Habiba the daughter of Abbas while she was fatim (age of nursing) and he said, “if she grows up while I am still alive, I will marry her.” (Musnad Ahmad, number 25636)

Bukhari (6:298) – Muhammad would take a bath with the little Aisha and fondle her.
        Narrated ‘Aisha:
The prophet and I used to take a bath from a single pot while we were junub. During the menses, he used to order me to put on an izar (dress worn below the waist) and used to fondle me. While in itikaf, he used to bring his head near me and I would wash it while I used to be in my periods (menses).

Sunaan abu Dawud: book 11, number 2161:
        Narrated Aisha, Ummul Mu’minin:
I and the apostle of Allah (peace_be_upon_him) used to lie in one cloth at night while I was menstruating. If anything from me smeared him, he washed the same place (that was smeared), and did not wash beyond it. If anything from him smeared his clothe, he washed the same place and did not wash beyond that, and prayed with it (i.e. The clothe).

Bukhari (6:300) – Muhammad’s wives had to be available for the prophet’s fondling even when they were having their menstrual period.
        Bukhari volume 1, book 6, number 299:
        Narrated ‘Abdur-rahman bin al-Aswad:
…(on the authority of his father) ‘Aisha said: “Whenever Allah’s apostle wanted to fondle anyone of us during her periods (menses), he used to order her to put on an izar and start fondling her.” ‘Aisha added, “None of you could control his sexual desires as the prophet could.”

Allah promoted this abusive sexual behavior:
“Your women are a tilth for you (to cultivate) so go to your tilth as ye will” [Koran 2:223]
Koran (2:223) likens a woman to a field (tilth), to be used by a man as he wills. In this verse, Allah also gives divine sanction for anal sex.
According to Islam, Muhammad is the perfection of humanity and the prototype of the most wonderful human conduct. He had sex with Aisha at the age of nine, which amounts to rape of a minor. He also left behind an enduring legacy for aged Muslim men to fulfill their carnal desires contrary to natural law and to the life-long devastation of young girls.

Quran 65.4 “and those of your women as have passed the age of monthly courses, for them the ‘iddah (prescribed divorce period), if you have doubts (about their periods), is three months, and for those who have no courses [(i.e. They are still immature) their ‘iddah (prescribed period) is three months likewise, except in case of death] . And for those who are pregnant (whether they are divorced or their husbands are dead), their ‘iddah (prescribed period) is until they deliver (their burdens) (give birth) and whosoever fears Allah and keeps his duty to him, he will make his matter easy for him.”
Sura (65:4) lays down rules for divorce and sets the prescribed period for divorce. It clearly says, Muslim men can marry (and divorce) little girls who have not yet reached menstruation age. This means that Muslim men were allowed to marry baby girls. This is the eternal word of god. This is an eternal law of Allah. All Muslims must believe in this teaching. Otherwise, they are no longer Muslims but apostates of Islam.

“All married women (are forbidden unto you) save those (captives) whom your right hands possess.” 4:24
You can have sex with slaves women captured in war (with whom you may rape or do whatever you like).
Muhammad established an appalling precedent for abuse of young girls which is continued to be nurtured by the Muslim faithful. For example, Ayatollah Khomeini of Iran gave a fatwa about Quran 65.4:
“A man can marry a girl younger than nine years of age, even if the girl is still a baby being breastfed. A man, however is prohibited from having intercourse with a girl younger than nine, other sexual acts such as foreplay, rubbing, kissing and sodomy is allowed. A man having intercourse with a girl younger than nine years of age has not committed a crime, but only an infraction, if the girl is not permanently damaged. If the girl, however, is permanently damaged, the man must provide for her all her life. But this girl will not count as one of the man’s four permanent wives. He also is not permitted to marry the girl’s sister.”

Reminiscing this bloody day after three decades!

    By Abul Kasem

In 1971, I was a final year civil engineering student at EPUET (now BUET). We were about to graduate when the political turmoil in East Pakistan just got started. As we were preparing for our final examination, when suddenly, the university was closed due to the unrest all around us. This recount I am about to tell, would bring into the fore one more time the inhuman butchery and atrocities committed by the Pakistan army as I witnessed with my own eyes. This had been the most horrific experiences of my life and to put it mildly this had a profound impact on my views on religion and politics.

On the eve of 25th March, 1971, I was staying at Shere-e- Bangla Hall of EPUET. Just a few days before that the political problems engulfed East Pakistan as General Yahya steadfastly refused to accept the mandate of the people of East Pakistan for full autonomy. The students were on strike. Actually, it was the exam time and I was preparing for my final year examination as I said it before. However, due to the political unrest, the examination was withheld and many students had left the residential halls and went back home. I was, though, actively involved in student politics. Therefore, I decided to stay put in the hall so that should a need arises I shall be available to join the movement. A few days before the 25th March there were persistent rumours in the air that the talk between Mujib and General Yahya was not progressing well and that there was that possibility of a military crackdown looming over the horizon. However, the government media cleverly played down this rumour by insisting that the talks were fruitful. Some newspapers even suggested that General Yahya was prepared to hand over the power to a civilian government where both Bhutto and Mujib will have major roles. With those types of misleading information many people thought that at last the Bangalees will have a chance to taste their freedom after a sojourn of about thirteen years. But that did not happen. On the fateful night of 25th March,1971, the Pakistan army came out from the cantonment with fury to teach the Bangalees a lesson of their lifetime that they will never forget. And surely they did.

This is my very personal recount of the nights and days on and immediately after March 25,1971.

I went to bed a bit early at around 9.00 at night. I was quite tired for the whole day and quickly I fell into my sleep. Suddenly at around 11.00 P.M, my deep slumber was disturbed by a the noise of a constant barrage of gunfire. At first, I thought that it must be the firecracker’s by Bangalees to celebrate the victory. But soon I realised my mistake. I opened the window. It was very dark. Not even the dim streetlights were burning. But there I could barely see numerous military vehicles moving around with soldiers with theirs automatic rifles. Occasionally, I could see very bright searchlights mounted on some of the military trucks and jeeps. Many soldiers were running and shooting in the street. I saw a large convoy of military vehicles had surrounded the whole of the EPUET area. As far as my eyes could go, I could see military men all around the campus. I could even hear the army people talking loud in Urdu downstairs in our hall. I immediately knew what was going on. I thanked my lucky star that I switched off the room light before I went to bed. There was deafening noise from the machine gun and automatic rifles, which were not too far from where I stood. I just could not believe what was going on. I was alone in the room; there was nobody to comfort me on that fateful night. Being panic-struck, I started trembling and fell down on my bed.

Then, all on a sudden a hail of bullet shattered the nearby window. The bullets hit the ceiling and walls and then hit the floor. A thought passed through my mind. I knew I was going to die. Without thinking much I went under my bed as a protection against hitting by stray bullets. I lied on my chest and grabbed the floor as if that was my life. The firing continued incessantly for almost the whole night. Then suddenly there was a lull. No machine gun or rifle sound. I thought it was over. So I slowly came out from my hiding place and sat on my bed. I looked at my wristwatch. I could not see very well. It was 3.00 A.M or so, I guessed. Suddenly, there was an extremely loud noise and the whole area was brightly lit. I could not resist the curiosity. Through the shattered window pane what I saw was utterly unbelievable. I saw a military tank throwing fire on the slums (Bastee). The slum was just next to our halls and along the old railway track. I saw people running out of their hovels. As the slum dwellers came out to escape the fire, the Pakistani soldiers started to shoot them with a machine-gun that was mounted on a military truck. I could see only one truck with the machine gun near our hall. But I am sure there were many more on other sides as I could see the fires from these machine-guns dropping like August showers in the darkness of the spring night. It was a seen I have watched only in TV and movies on Vietnam wars. I could hear the desperate cry for help from those hapless victims. I closed the window as I thought that one of those bullets would be enough for me. I sat on the floor and suddenly realised that this is it. There was no escape for me.

Time passed and slowly the morning broke the silence of the eerie night. I could still see the military people from my window. I switched on my transistor radio on a very low volume to hear what was going on. The Dhaka Radio Station was dead. I switched to Calcutta . There was no mention of East Pakistan except that General Yahya Khan had left Dhaka after the final talks with Mujib. So I switched to Karachi. Now I got the news that I wanted to hear so desperately. There was a special announcement that General Yahya was going to speak to the nation. I heard him speaking. It was the voice of a heavily drunken person that one can tell. I cannot recall all that he said. But there were few words that I still remember to the letters. These words were “Mujib’s act is an act of treason. He will not go unpunished.” Yahya Khan ended by saying that Mujib will be tried by a special military tribunal. The news announced that Sheik Mujibur Rahman along with Dr. Kamal Hussain had been arrested and taken to West Pakistan for the trial. I also heard Bhutto saying that “Thank God. Pakistan was saved.”

In the meanwhile the fire in the slum continued and I noticed a strange odor in the air. It took me sometime to figure out that it was indeed the smell of burning flesh. I did not hear any fire brigade siren or anything like that although there was a fire brigade office just next to our hall in Palashi. It was almost 8 o’clock in the morning and the fire slowly started to diminish after devouring the nearby shantytown. From my window I could see the tank moving out from our area. I again lied on my bed and started to search other radio stations for news. Suddenly, I heard mild knocking on my door. I froze. I felt that my blood circulation had suddenly stopped. In front of my eyes I saw nothing but white colour. I could not move from my bed. I just lay still. After a while there was another knock. Now it stroke my mind that if it was the army they will not wait for my response. They would simply burst open my door and start shooting. There must be some one else, I guessed. So, I went near the window close to the door and looked. I saw Monju, my next door neighbour crawling on his chest near my door. I gingerly opened a little of the door and asked him what was wrong. He whispered to me that something was wrong with his roommate, Ashraf. Monju asked me to follow him to his room. I opened the door silently and slowly crawled on my chest to Monju’s room. I found Ashraf lying on the floor with eyes wide open but his mouth shut and he was vigorously shivering. There was water all over. I asked Monju why was there so much of water on the floor. Monju replied that it was not water. It was Ashraf’s urine. He told me that Ashraf had urinated several times and now he (Ashraf) cannot talk. I called Ashraf very softly. He just stared at me but could not say anything. I knew what had happened. Ashraf had a nervous breakdown. I told Monju that we keep whispering to him that the military is gone and we are safe. Surprisingly, after whispering for about 15 to 20 minutes Ashraf started to murmur a few words. After a while he simply whispered, “Please, please, do not leave me.” I told Ashraf that what ever happens the three of us will remain together. If we die we shall die together. This assurance from us made Ashraf slowly come back to normal. All of us were very hungry and thirsty. So we ate the stale bread and some water. Then we talked how each of us passed the dreaded night.

It was around midday and we found that all the military personnel had left our area. There was no sound of gunfire, no sound of military trucks or vehicles. In fact, there was an eerie unbearable silence all around the campus. No bus, no rickshaw, no car, hardly any people on the streets. We thought that it was our best opportunity to escape from the hall. We tuned to AIR and heard about the indefinite curfew in Dhaka. But we decided to escape no matter what happens even if that meant breaking the curfew and being shot at by the military. We decided that I shall go to Monju’s apartment at Azimpur Government quarters. Both Monju and Ashraf used to live at Azimpur quarters. I crawled back to my room, put on my shoes and grab my transistor radio. The three of us then slowly started to climb down the stairs hiding ourselves as much as we could.

We went to the ground floor. To our disappointment we found the entry/exit gate was locked. The guards had locked the gate and fled. Later on, we realised that that action by the hall guards actually had saved our lives. In frustration, we came back to our room on the second floor. Then we decided to go to 1st floor and jump from the balcony/verandah. At first, we thought of leaving the radios behind. Then we realised that the radio was the only means by which we could know what was going on in East Pakistan. The three of us then jumped in the garden. Luckily, the jump was a success. Then we quickly ran. While running across the hall compound we saw the gruesome scenes of killing by the Pakistani army. In Liaquat Hall (I suppose it is Titumeer Hall now, but I’m not sure) we saw plenty of blood and a dead body possibly the guard’s. (Later, I learnt that four students were killed at Liaquat Hall.) We quickly ran to the Fire Brigade Centre in Palashi. The Centre was very close to our residential Hall. We thought of taking temporary refuge in Fire Brigade building before proceeding to Azimpur colony. There was a small mosque inside the Fire Brigade compound. I saw four dead bodies there. All were riddled with numerous bullet holes. The floor of the mosque was flooded with blood. I thought that some Fire Brigade people tried to take shelter in the mosque hoping that Pakistanis will not commit murder in a place of worship. But how wrong they were! We saw many other dead bodies on the compound of the Fire Brigade. Some dead bodies were inside the Fire Brigade trucks and ambulance. They took shelter inside these vehicles hoping to escape the onslaught. Most likely none of the Fire Brigade people survived. Then we arrived at the road that separates the Azimpur Colony from the Palashi. On the road we found many dead bodies scattered everywhere mainly of rickshaw pullers.

There was a high wall at the entry of the Azimpur Colony. We did not know what to do at that point. The curfew was on and if any army people saw us they surely will kill us. We had no choice but to jump over the wall. To our utter surprise we could jump over the wall and fell on the other side of the wall. I still do not know how I did that. May be our adrenaline was running high after all that happened to us. I am sure that if I have to jump that wall again, I shall surely fail.

After jumping inside the Azimpur colony we felt a little safer and we all heaved a great sigh of relief. Monju suggested that I go and stay with him. Ashraf was too nervous to say anything. So, firstly we escorted Ashraf to his quarter and then Monju and I headed towards Monju’s quarter. When Monju’s father and mother saw us they simply hold us tight and started crying. We quickly went inside the bedroom and told our story. Monju’s father said that they were certain that Pakistani army had killed us as he had witnessed the army operation from the window. We realised how lucky we really were to be alive that fateful night. Monju’s mother prepared some food for us. We were extremely hungry. I finished all the food served to me. During this time we did not hear much gun shots in the local area of Azimpur. But we could hear the non-stop machine gun firing in the distance. We carefully opened a little bit of the window. All we saw was smoke and fire all around, a little away from Azimpur. We guessed that it was old Dhaka area possibly near the Buriganga river and Sadarghat. After the liberation, it was found that the killing and destruction done by the Pak military was one of the worst in the old Dhaka area. They have killed virtually each and every person in the Hindu dominated Shankari Patti in the Old Dhaka. The fire and smoke was so terrible that at night the whole sky was red. In the evening we ate some food and we tried to sleep. But none of us could hardly shut our eyelids. The whole night we searched the world on radio. At last we got the news from BBC of what was going on in East Pakistan. The Dhaka radio station was working again only playing mainly Urdu patriotic songs and Islamic verses. We were now sure that our dream of a free nation had suddenly vanished. The Pakistani army had captured us as slaves. The whole night we mostly talked about what would happen to the Bangalees since all our struggle was in vain. Finally, the morning came. At around 9 o’clock we heard in Dhaka radio that the curfew had been relaxed for six hours only. We found many people on the street. I suggested to Monju that I better go home and see if my family members were alive. As our house was in Nakhalpara (very close to cantonment and the airport), Monju, his father and mother were very reluctant that I should take the risk. However, after my constant insistence they let me go, but reminded me to return immediately to them if I had problem. Until today, I can never repay their debt. You can tell they were really so concerned about me.

So, I came open in the street. I found people and people all around me. No bus, no truck. Hardly any rickshaw plying the street. There were occasional cars and military vehicles with fierce looking soldiers and machine gun mounted trucks and jeeps. I asked some people where were they headed to. Most of them replied that they did not know. They simply wanted to leave the city and go to villages where they felt they would be safe. Many of them headed towards Sadarghat hoping that they could catch a steamer or a launch to go to villages. I also did not know what to do. Since there were no transport it would be very difficult for me to walk all the way to Nakhalpara. I thought of going back to Monju’s place. Then I changed my mind when I found that thousands of people are walking, many of them bare footed and with nothing but their clothes on. So, I also started walking. Whatever happens to these people will also happen to me, I thought. The first place I came was Iqbal Hall (now Sergeant Zahurul Hall?). The scene I saw in Iqbal Hall was beyond any description, I swear! The whole area was like a battlefield. I knew that DUCSU VP Tofail Ahmed used to live there. There were holes on the walls created by mortar shells. Those holes were visible from afar. When I arrived at the playground of the Hall, I saw about 30 dead bodies all lined up for display to the public. Many of the dead bodies were beyond any recognition due to innumerable bullet holes on their faces. That was a gruesome sight. Many people started crying. My friend Jafar used to live in Iqbal hall. I did not see his dead body. Later, I learnt that his dead body was found in his bed. Needless to say, the displayed corpses were merely a small fraction of the students that Pak army had murdered in Iqbal Hall on that dreadful night. They simply displayed a few corpses to frighten and to break the morale of all Bangalees.

Anyway, I had to hurry along. I started to walk again and came to the central Shaheed Minar. I saw the entire Shaheed Minar was nothing but a heap of rubble. Many people could not believe what they saw. The army had totally destroyed the Shaheed Minar by using powerful explosives, I guessed. Amongst all the cruelties inflicted on the Bangalees that night, I think the destruction of the central Shaheed Minar was the cruelest of all. I noticed some blood on the smooth and shiny floor of Shaheed Minar. But I did not see any dead body. May be the Pak army decided to remove the corpses from the street area so that their movement won’t be affected. I really cried when I saw the Shaheed Minar. Even the displayed corpses at Iqbal Hall could not bring tears to my eyes and make me cry. But I could not hold my tears when I saw the corpse of the Shaheed Minar. The shock was much too much for me.

I started to walk again and came to Jagannath Hall. The entire Jagannath Hall compound was like another battlefield. I saw the footprints of tractor vehicles. There were huge holes on the walls of the Jagannath Hall. I guessed that the army had used tanks in Jagannath Hall. In front of the Jagannath Hall lawn I saw a huge mass grave. The grave was so fresh and shallow that we could see some half buried corpse. Some hands and feet protruding from under the soil due to the consolidation of soil, I guess. It was a grotesque scene, to put it mildly. I do not know how many people were buried there. Judging from the size of the grave, my guess was at least a few hundreds. After the liberation of Bangladesh many of us have seen the video footage of this brutality of the Pak army. The video was taken secretly by a brave EPUET (now BUET) professor from the window of his apartment

By the side of Jagannath hall there was a small narrow road. On the side of this road and on behind the back of Rokeya Hall there were a large number of washermen (dhopa) who used to live in small quarters with their families. Their number could be around 50 or more. I found that Pak army had burnt down the entire area. I could see the charred bodies of children and adults still in the burnt bed. On the side of the dhopa quarter and by the side of the road, I saw another freshly dug shallow mass grave. I could see the feet and hands of children and adults sticking out from the grave trying to tell the entire world what did happen to them. All people who passed by saw this terrible sight and shook their heads in utter disbelief.

After a long and tiring walk, I came to Shahbag Hotel (now IPGMR). The building (hotel) was intact. I looked at Dhaka Radio Station. No sign of devastation. Although, there was heavy military guards including tanks and armoured vehicles around the radio station. There was no damage to Inter-Continental Hotel (now Sheraton Dhaka). Then I came to the office of the daily newspaper ‘The People.’ My friend Obaid was a sub-editor with the ‘People.’ Naturally I went to find his whereabouts. What I saw was disbelieving. The entire office of the ‘People’ along with a few more shop houses was burnt to ashes. The place was still smoldering. When I went a little closer. I saw many dead bodies burnt like charcoal. They were absolutely unrecognisable. Only the shape says that they were human. The area was filled with the smell of burnt flesh (like barbecue smell). I do not know the fate of Obaid. But until today I never heard anything about him. So I assume that he was burnt alive in that inferno.

I came out from the ruins of the ‘People.’ As I was walking past the fashionable Sakura Restaurant (I am not sure if the restaurant is still in business or not) a car suddenly stopped near me. I was astonished to see my father, mother, and sisters all inside the car. My mother and sisters were weeping. My father asked me to get inside the car. My mother simply hugged me and started to cry loudly. I asked my father what had happened. My father said they were simply fortunate to be alive. Then he told me that we were all going to Dhanmondi to stay with our grandfather. My mother told me that she never expected to see me again as they heard that the army had killed each and every student in the residential halls.

Soon we arrived at my grand father’s house. My grandfather was simply happy to see us alive. We ate some food. Then my mother narrated their fateful night of the 25th March.

So this was how it happened at our home on March 25, 1971. The recount was based on what I did hear from my mother.

Round about midnight everyone in our house woke up with noises of heavy vehicles, people marching on boots, loud shouting, bright lights and some more gunfire. At first they erroneously believed that it must be a victory celebration. That was because just before every one went to sleep, there were rumours that Yahya Khan had agreed to transfer power to Mujib. However, when my folks opened the window they couldn’t believe what they saw. It was shocking to see that the entire Nakhalpara area had been cordoned off by armoured military trucks. The soldiers with rifles and machine guns were running all over the place. Also, there were very bright searchlights all around. My family also noticed jeeps mounted with machine guns very close to our house. Naturally everyone was frightened. Being nervous my mother started praying without loosing any time. A few minutes later they heard a loud banging in our front door. They were at loss not knowing what to do. My father picked up the courage and opened the entrance door. Four soldiers with pointed rifle immediately entered our lounge. They asked everyone to line up in the lounge. So, my father, my younger brother, my brother in-law, my four sisters, nephew and niece and my mother all obliged by lining up in the crammed space. All of them were shivering in hot March night. Then one of the soldiers separated the males from the females. The males were ordered to remain in the lounge. All the females including my mother were ordered in the bedroom nearby. At that stage my mother started crying and fell down on the knees of the soldiers for their mercy. The soldiers simply dragged her to the bedroom. One soldier guarded the males while the other guarded the female quarter. The two other soldiers then started ransacking each and every item in every room including the food in the kitchen. They even examined the newspapers and other documents even though they did not understand a single word of Bangla.

One of the soldiers then found the shotgun that my father had always had with him. I have seen that shot gun since my birth. It was licensed and completely legal. I have seen my father going for hunting with his favourite shotgun every once in a while when time permits. The soldier who found the shotgun came immediately to the male captives. He demanded to know whose shotgun was that. My father calmly replied in broken Urdu that he was the lawful owner of the gun. The soldier then pointed his automatic rifle at my father and ordered him to follow him downstairs. My father knew that he had only a few minutes to live. At that stage my younger brother stood between the rifle and my father and requested the soldier that he wants to accompany my father. The soldier became furious at the insolence shown by my brother. The soldier threw my brother on the floor and started pushing my father with his rifle towards the exit door. My father then requested the soldier to look at the license of the shotgun. But alas, the soldier could neither read nor understand the English language. So the soldier said that he had to call his officer. Another army man was called to guard while he went outside looking the for the officer.

After about fifteen minutes the soldier returned with the officer. My father was not sure what was the rank of the officer. Thank God! The officer was not as brute as the lower ranking jawan. The officer showed little bit of courtesy for my elderly father. He asked my father to take a seat so that he could examine the document. After a thorough examination the officer then asked my father why he had not surrendered his weapon to police station. My father replied that there was no directive to that effect. The officer then rebuked my father for being so stupid to keep the weapon in the house when there were so many miscreants in the area. My father agreed with him and asked for his forgiveness. The officer then said that my father’s life will be spared but they will have to confiscate the shotgun. Then he started interrogating every one on various matters including our religion and political affiliation. My father became the spokesman. He answered what the army men wanted to hear. That we are all Muslims and we have no connection with the Awami League or any pro-freedom party etc., etc.

The officer then asked my father how many sons he had. My father replied two. He inquired about the whereabouts of his sons. My younger brother identified himself. He told the officer that he had finished his HSC and waiting to go to EPUET (now BUET). The officer then asked my father about me. My father replied that I was about to graduate from EPUET. The army officer then demanded to know why I was not at home. At that point my father could guess the real reason these army people are barging into our home. He carefully said that I was very studious and I preferred to study with my friends. So I did not come home for a few days. The army officer then started to note down all the details about me and told my father that as soon as I returned home he (my father) must contact him through telephone. I was simply lucky that my father did not disclose the University residential hall that I was staying. The officer then warned my father not to leave our house as they may come to investigate again. My father said no problem. Throughout this ordeal, my brother-in-law did not talk much because he was actively involved in NAP politics!

When the interrogation of the male members was complete the officer then entered the bedroom to view his female captives. Needless to say, my mother feared what might happen to her daughters. My eldest sister was a schoolteacher. My next two sisters were college going and only my youngest sister was still in her childhood. My mother was so hysterical that she kneeled down to the two soldiers and begged them that whatever they wanted to do let them take her daughters out of her sight. The soldiers were simply laughing and taunting my mother and sister with abusive language and accusing them of being pro Awami League. They told my sisters that very soon they would take them to cantonment. At that stage my eldest sister picked up some courage and told them in pidgin (in broken) Urdu that they cannot simply do that without a warrant of arrest.

The soldiers laughed heartily hearing the response from my sister and said that they were not police. They were army and they could do whatever they wanted. Luckily, at that point the army officer entered the bedroom. My sister asked the army officer why they were being harassed. The officer told my sister that he had information that there were many miscreants in our area. Their duty was to catch these miscreants and take them to cantonment for punishment. He then told my sister that he had found us very gentle, polite and cooperative and so he will let all of us go free this time. But he wanted to let everyone know that they will come again. At last he showed some respect to my mother by apologising to her and saying good bye to her in chost Urdu. But before the officer departed he whispered something to his recruits. The two soldiers then forced my elder sister to open the steel Almirah (Safety box) . They took all the money and the jewelry that were there for safekeeping. Thus, in a hurry we lost most of our valuables.

After almost 36 hours the curfew was lifted for 6 hours. My family members heard the wailing sound of bereavement all around the area. The Pakistan army had taken many people from Nakhalpara area to cantonment that night. Most of those taken were young students. It was a sheer miracle that my family members were spared. None were taken to the cantonment. It is not known how many of those unfortunate people lost their lives because until today their whereabouts are not known. Be that as it may, most of them never returned home. All the residents of Nakhalpara realised that the area was absolutely unsafe to stay. Therefore, most residents left Nakhalpara almost barefooted with only the clothes they were wearing. My family also followed the suit. They also left Nakhalpara immediately after the curfew was lifted. From grapevine we heard that Dhanmondi was a safe area. So we went to our grandpa’s house over there in to seek refuge and secrecy. A few days later we heard the dreadful news from Chittagong. Two of my uncles were killed in Agrabad Railway colony in a military operation similar to the one the army did in Nakhalpara operation. The army call those “Mop Up Operation.” To us, the Bangalees those operation was akin to serving the death notice or something similar to that.

After few weeks my younger brother secretly ventured to Nakhalpara to see in his own eyes the condition of our homestead. To his horror he found that everything including a bag of rice had been removed or stolen. So we became destitute right away. But that did hardly dampened our spirit. We knew we were not alone in this struggle. Life became Durbishoho (I can’t find an appropriate synonym in English). It was an struggle every day for the rest of the nine-month period.

For the last 29 years I have always wondered why the army had targeted our house and our family. It had always been a mystery to me. Now I have some clue to that question after such a long period of time. Ashrafuzzaman Khan (the then member of the central committee of the Islami Chatra Sangha ) used to live at Nakhalpara. This piece of information I got from the Internet.

As I write this re-count, I learnt that 100 new ‘killing fields’ have been discovered all around Bangladesh. Was I surprised? No, not at all! However, what surprised me the most was why did it take so long? Why did we have to wait almost 30 years to know that innocent folks were butchered just as cattle? Rest assured that many more killing fields will be found. The killing fields of Cambodia, Kosovo, Bosnia, Afghanistan, etc., will be nothing when compared to the killing fields in Bangladesh. Let us not forget these killing fields. Let us not forget the sacrifice of 3 million people who shed enough blood to change the verdure of monsoon drenched land of Bengal. They certainly gave their lives so that we can enjoy the fruits of freedom. Freedom from the tyranny of Punjabi masters and Pakistani Oligarchy. I would ask every Bangalees not to forget the butchers of those nights and days when we remember the fallen angels of our land. The crime should never go unpunished.

    • Lucky bin “Clever Satan”, You do remember your hay days when at will you could get away with undermining others, dude!! You subjugated millions of people at your will and want those hay days of White Supremacy to reign once more! But how can it be possible with Quran around, you ask?

Yes, Quran shattered your dreams for once and all!!!!

      • US girl’s Facebook post costs her dad $80,000! (ndtv)

Look at this idiot…making her dad loose $80’000 a settlement he had already won… just because she said “SUCK IT”!
Washington: A US girl’s snarky Facebook post has cost her father $80,000 he had won in a legal settlement.

Patrick Snay, 69, a former headmaster of Gulliver Preparatory School in Florida WAS set to receive the amount after settling a 2011 age discrimination suit with the school he once headed.

However, his daughter, Dana ruined the $80,000 deal by blabbing about it on Facebook, the ‘Miami Herald’ reported.

“Mama and Papa Snay won the case against Gulliver. Gulliver is now officially paying for my vacation to Europe this summer. SUCK IT,” she wrote on the social networking website.

The message circulated among the former Gulliver student’s 1,200 Facebook friends and eventually made its way back to the school.

The school claimed the post violated the settlement’s confidentiality agreement.

A judge last week tossed out the settlement, ruling the ex-employee and his daughter breached the terms of a confidential agreement when she took to social media to brag about it, the report said.

There is a serious problem we run into when we try to define “radical Islam.” What is “radical Islam?”

First of all, nothing the radical Islamists say is outside the Quran and Hadith. The Quran and Hadith are the pillars of Islam, not only of radical Islam. That poses a serious problem. Because no Muslim body has ever stated that parts of the Quran and Hadith are now “outdated” or “irrelevant.” The Hadith, for instance, gives numerous instances of rape of female captives captured after defeating infidels, in the presence of Mohammed. Since Mohammed is considered the perfect person and example for all to follow by ALL of Islam, what does this mean? It means that ALL Muslims must find this practice agreeable, at least in principle, and therein lies the problem.

There is an entire chapter in the Hadith on how to rape captured women without making them pregnant, so that their slave price does not fall (pregnant women fetch lower price).

Remember, this was the fate of millions of Hindus who fell into Muslim hands.

        Book 008, Number 3371:
Abu Sirma said to Abu Sa’id al Khadri (Allah he pleased with him): 0 Abu Sa’id, did you hear Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) mentioning al-‘azl? He said: Yes, and added: We went out with Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) on the expedition to the Bi’l-Mustaliq and took captive some excellent Arab women; and we desired them, for we were suffering from the absence of our wives, (but at the same time) we also desired ransom for them. So we decided to have sexual intercourse with them but by observing ‘azl (Withdrawing the male sexual organ before emission of semen to avoid-conception). But we said: We are doing an act whereas Allah’s Messenger is amongst us; why not ask him? So we asked Allah’s Mes- senger (may peace be upon him), and he said: It does not matter if you do not do it, for every soul that is to be born up to the Day of Resurrection will be born.

        Book 008, Number 3377:

People say “radical Islam” but what they mean is the radical verses in the Quran and Hadith. Radical by whose standards? Not by the standards of Islam, since these verses have been accepted without any controversy within Islam for centuries. These verses are not radical for Muslims, but they are radical by non-Muslim modern civilization.

Take another example – the verse 4:34 in the Quran that says that wives who are disobedient must be beaten. “Radical Muslims” like the Taliban used to frequently quote this verse to justify their open violence against women. But this verse is in the Quran! It is not in a separate book called “Quran for radicals.” It is in the one and only Quran, and is equal to any other verse. So why is it radical? Because in today’s modern society, we do not find this practice acceptable.

So it seems that the problem is that Islam is radical. It is not that there is a separate religion called “radical Islam”, but that the religion of Islam has many components that are considered radical/unacceptable/violent by modern societies.

So what is the way out? My firm belief is that a reformation within Islam is needed. It won’t happen though until we obfuscate plain facts. The plain facts are that numerous verses in the Quran and Hadith say things which are simply unacceptable (and considered barbaric) by today’s society.

Let us say it as it is, instead of pretending that there is a separate ideology called “radical Islam.” There isn’t. Nothing that Muslim terrorists say is outside the Quran and Hadith. As someone said – there are radical Muslims and moderate Muslims, but there is nothing called moderate Islam.

Islam IS RADICAL. To make Islam moderate, we would have to expurgate many verses (and entire chapters, such as that on raping female captives without impregnating them, so that their slave price does not fall) from the Quran and Hadith. Are we prepared to ask moderate Muslims to do that?

The other obfuscation is that some people are “hijacking Islam.” Who are they? Every single action Muslim terrorists have done is justified by the Quran and Hadith, and they have taken great pains to provide the verses that justify their actions. Not only that, for centuries, people like that were hailed as Ghazis (holy warriors) within Islam. It is not for nothing that in the Muslim world, a majority of people hail them as heroes. It is only when you are trying to hide from the scrutiny of the West that you say he has “hijacked Islam.”
Muslim terrorists are merely persons who follow Islam to the word. They are, in many ways, true Muslims. In numerous Hadith, Muhammad says that the best Muslim is NOT one who fasts and prays, but who gets on his horse and fights against infidels (especially polytheists) for the spread of Islam.
That is what Muslim terrorists are doing. What about the innocent women and children they kills? Guess what – the Hadith emphatically state that it is perfectly alright to kill the women and children of polytheists. Nothing Muslim terrorists do is outside the Quran and Hadith. They are NOT “radical” Muslims. They are merely a practicing Muslims!

All 4 schools of Islam regard Hindus as polytheists and idolaters. This means every single verse in the Quran and Hadith which prescribes violence and death for polytheists and idolaters is applicable to Hindus. Let me cite the specific verses in the Hadith which talks about killing women and children of polytheists. One may verify these verses from the Hadith database, available here:

        Book 019, Number 4321:
It is reported on the authority of Sa’b b. Jaththama that the Prophet of Allah (may peace be upon him), when asked about the women and children of the polytheists being killed during the night raid, said: They are from them.

        Book 019, Number 4322:
It is narrated by Sa’b b. Jaththama that he said (to the Holy Prophet): Messenger of Allah, we kill the children of the polytheists during the night raids. He said: They are from them.

        Book 019, Number 4323:
Sa’b b. Jaththama has narrated that the Prophet (may peace be upon him) asked: What about the children of polytheists killed by the cavalry during the night raid? He said: They are from them.

In each of these Hadith, Muhammad dismisses any ethical concerns about killing women and children in raids on polytheists by saying that “they are from them” (i.e. it is alright to kill them since they are also polytheists).

Now why is this relevant today?

Islam bases its ethics and morality entirely on one man – Muhammad. Everything he said, and he did, becomes the moral code. Islam rejects any ethics and morality that does not agree with the example set by Muhammad. Now, since he says in these ahadith that it is alright to kill the women and children of polytheists, it becomes the example for all Muslims to follow for all time. Obviously, this is a serious problem, especially for Hindus who are regarded as polytheists by all 4 schools of Islam. Never mind the truth here, which is that Hinduism is panentheistic; what matters is that Islamic law regards them as polytheists and therefore killing of Hindu women and children is permissible in Islamic law, in accordance with the quoted ahadith.

Let us be honest about this – the problem is not a chimera called “radical Islam.” The problem is ISLAM. Islam, as it exists in the Quran and Hadith, is far too violent, intolerant, and yes, “radical”, to co-exist with modern society. The moment a Muslim starts following true Islam, he appears incredibly radical to us all, and we say “he is a radical Muslim” when all he is doing is following his religion!

The ideology of Nazism led to the Holocaust. The ideology of Islam, and not “radical Islam”, led to what TIME magazine called “the greatest genocide since the holocaust” – the butchery of 2 million Hindus (and 1 million Muslims who were regarded as “contaminated by Hindu ideas”) in East Pakistan by the Pakistan army between 1970-71. Again, it is Islam, and not “radical Islam” whose teachings play a big role in the ongoing genocide and rape in Darfur. I will have a post on that shortly as well.

Here is a sample chapter from Hadith Sahih Muslim, which talks about Muhammad’s desire to expel Jews and Christians from the Hijaz (which is the part of Arabia that contains Mecca and Medina and which was the extent of Muhammad’s power), as well as his expulsion of Jews from Medina. As you can see, he was quite intolerant of other religions, even Jews and Christians. As far as idolaters, the verdict is even more intolerant – simply kill them all (Quran 9:5).

        Book 019, Number 4364:

It has been narrated on the authority of Ibn Umar that the Jews of Banu Nadir and Banu Quraizi fought against the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) who expelled Banu Nadir, and allowed Quraiza to stay on, and granted favour to them until they too fought against him. Then he killed their men, and distributed their women, children and properties among the Muslims, except that some of them had joined the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) who granted them security. They embraced Islam. The Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) turned out all the Jews of Medlina. Banu Qainuqa’ (the tribe of ‘Abdullah b. Salim) and the Jews of Banu Haritha and every other Jew who was in Medina.

        Book 019, Number 4366:

It has been narrated by ‘Umar b. al-Khattib that he heard the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) say: I will expel the Jews and Christians from the Arabian Peninsula and will not leave any but Muslim.

Now, this is the original Islamic blueprint for religious cleansing. It was the first time in Islam entire religions were wiped out from areas under Muslim control. This was done by Muhammad, and his example is the “gold standard” for all Muslims for all time. So is it surprising that where ever Islam gains hold, religious minorities are cleansed out. Remember Kashmir valley in 1989? One fine day, flyers appeared all over the valley asking the Kashmiri Hindus to leave or be killed. And by the way, the flyers also said “leave your women behind.” Again, this aspect of Islamic warfare (Jihad) upon infidels is following Muhammad’s example and teachings, which say that women of infidels are nothing more than “war booty” (maal-e-ghanimat) for the enjoyment of Muslims. There are entire chapters in the Hadith that deal with capture and rape of infidel women, such as this one where Muhammad is asked whether his Muslim soldiers should use coitus interruptus while raping these captured women. Please understand that this is all in the religion of Islam. If it shocks you that a religious book should have an entire chapter devoted to the use of coitus interruptus while raping captured infidel women, it should!

Islam consecrated religious cleansing when Muhammad killed/forcibly converted all the polytheist Arabs, and expelled/killed the Jews and Christians. Islam consecrated the capture and rape of infidel women when Muhammad asked his followers to do this. There are Hadith where Muhammad even takes “first pick” among the captured women (one famous example is Safiya, a beautiful woman who Muhammad took for himself and bedded on the same night he had murdered her husband and brother in war). Since Muhammad’s example is normative for all Muslims for all time, this behavior has to be repeated by Muslims everywhere. And we can see that Muslims have followed this example in various places such as Kashmir, from where almost half a million Hindus were expelled in 1989. In 1971, 2 million Hindus were killed, 10 million Hindus were driven out of Bangladesh, and the Pakistani army ran “rape camps” with Hindu women. The extent of genocide and mass rape compelled TIME magazine to describe it as “the greatest genocide since the Holocaust of Jews by the Nazis..”.

Now here is some news: All of these atrocities simply follow the example of Muhammad as recorded in the Hadith. If you read the Hadith you will see for yourself that nothing that was done in 1971 to Hindus in Bangladesh, or in 1989 to Hindus in Kashmir is against Islam. On the contrary, it is exactly as per the diktats of the Hadith.

Politicians will not tell you this. Dishonest “intellectuals” will not tell you this. But Hindus need to know this so it does not happen again. Hiding the ideology behind Islam’s murder is like hiding the ideology of the Nazis from the Jews. It is criminal.

What would we call people who tried to hide the murderous ideology of Nazism, and tried to attribute the Holocaust to other causes? We would call them “abettors in Nazi genocide.”

Similarly, I call those who are trying to hide the true teachings of Islam abettors in Islamic genocides. Please, let us stop this intellectual cowardice and call it as it is.

How many more must die to Jihad till we finally call it Jihad?

Till we finally say “Yes, it is Islam that is causing all this violence?”

Please say it today, and be on the side of truth.

“…… we were told to kill the hindus and Kafirs (non-believer in God). One day in June, we cordoned a village and were ordered to kill the Kafirs in that area. We found all the village women reciting from the Holy Quran, and the men holding special congregational prayers seeking God’s mercy. But they were unlucky. Our commanding officer ordered us not to waste any time.”

        Confession of a Pakistani Soldier

It all started with Operation Searchlight, a planned military pacification carried out by the Pakistan Army started on 25 March, 1971 to curb the Bengali nationalist movement by taking control of the major cities on March 26, and then eliminating all opposition, political or military, within one month. Before the beginning of the operation, all foreign journalists were systematically deported from Bangladesh. The main phase of Operation Searchlight ended with the fall of the last major town in Bengali hands in mid May.
According to New York Times (3/28/71) 10,000 people were killed; New York Times (3/29/71) 5,000-7,000 people were killed in Dhaka; The Sydney Morning Herald (3/29/71) 10,000 – 100,000 were killed; New York Times (4/1/71) 35,000 were killed in Dhaka during operation searchlight.

The operation also began the 1971 Bangladesh atrocities. These systematic killings served only to enrage the Bengalis, which ultimately resulted in the secession of East Pakistan later in December, 1971. The international media and reference books in English have published casualty figures which vary greatly; 200,000–3,000,000 for Bangladesh as a whole.

There is only one word for this: Genocide.

The mass killings in Bangladesh (then East Pakistan) in 1971 vie with the annihilation of the Soviet POWs, the holocaust against the Jews, and the genocide in Rwanda as the most concentrated act of genocide in the twentieth century. In an attempt to crush forces seeking independence for East Pakistan, the West Pakistani military regime unleashed a systematic campaign of mass murder which aimed at killing millions of Bengalis, and likely succeeded in doing so.

In national elections held in December 1970, the Awami League won an overwhelming victory across Bengali territory. On February 22, 1971 the generals in West Pakistan took a decision to crush the Awami League and its supporters. It was recognized from the first that a campaign of genocide would be necessary to eradicate the threat: “Kill three million of them,” said President Yahya Khan at the February conference, “and the rest will eat out of our hands.” (Robert Payne, Massacre [1972], p. 50.) On March 25 the genocide was launched. The university in Dacca (Dhaka) was attacked and students exterminated in their hundreds. Death squads roamed the streets of Dacca, killing some 7,000 people in a single night. It was only the beginning. “Within a week, half the population of Dacca had fled, and at least 30,000 people had been killed. Chittagong, too, had lost half its population. All over East Pakistan people were taking flight, and it was estimated that in April some thirty million people [!] were wandering helplessly across East Pakistan to escape the grasp of the military.” (Payne, Massacre, p. 48.) Ten million refugees fled to India, overwhelming that country’s resources and spurring the eventual Indian military intervention. (The population of Bangladesh/East Pakistan at the outbreak of the genocide was about 75 million.)
The Guinness Book of Records lists the Bangladesh Genocide as one of the top 5 genocides in the 20th century.

The war against the Bengali population proceeded in classic gendercidal fashion. According to Anthony Mascarenhas:

There is no doubt whatsoever about the targets of the genocide. They were: (1) The Bengali militarymen of the East Bengal Regiment, the East Pakistan Rifles, police and para-military Ansars and Mujahids. (2) The Hindus — “We are only killing the men; the women and children go free. We are soldiers not cowards to kill them …” I was to hear in Comilla [site of a major military base] [Comments R.J. Rummel: “One would think that murdering an unarmed man was a heroic act” (Death By Government, p. 323)] (3) The Awami Leaguers — all office bearers and volunteers down to the lowest link in the chain of command. (4) The students — college and university boys and some of the more militant girls. (5) Bengali intellectuals such as professors and teachers whenever damned by the army as “militant.” (Anthony Mascarenhas, The Rape of Bangla Desh [Delhi: Vikas Publications, 1972(?)], pp. 116-17.)

Mascarenhas’s summary makes clear the linkages between gender and social class (the “intellectuals,” “professors,” “teachers,” “office bearers,” and — obviously — “militarymen” can all be expected to be overwhelmingly if not exclusively male, although in many cases their families died or fell victim to other atrocities alongside them). In this respect, the Bangladesh events can be classed as a combined gendercide and elitocide, with both strategies overwhelmingly targeting males for the most annihilatory excesses.

London, 6/13/71). The Sunday Times…..”The Government’s policy for East Bengal was spelled out to me in the Eastern Command headquarters at Dacca. It has three elements:

        1. The Bengalis have proved themselves unreliable and must be ruled by West Pakistanis;

        2. The Bengalis will have to be re-educated along proper Islamic lines. The – Islamization of the masses – this is the official jargon – is intended to eliminate secessionist tendencies and provide a strong religious bond with West Pakistan;

        3. When the Hindus have been eliminated by death and fight, their property will be used as a golden carrot to win over the under privileged Muslim middle-class. This will provide the base for erecting administrative and political structures in the future.”

Younger men and adolescent boys, of whatever social class, were equally targets. According to Rounaq Jahan, “All through the liberation war, able-bodied young men were suspected of being actual or potential freedom fighters. Thousands were arrested, tortured, and killed. Eventually cities and towns became bereft of young males who either took refuge in India or joined the liberation war.” Especially “during the first phase” of the genocide, he writes, “young able-bodied males were the victims of indiscriminate killings.” (“Genocide in Bangladesh,” in Totten et al., Century of Genocide, p. 298.) R.J. Rummel likewise writes that “the Pakistan army [sought] out those especially likely to join the resistance — young boys. Sweeps were conducted of young men who were never seen again. Bodies of youths would be found in fields, floating down rivers, or near army camps. As can be imagined, this terrorized all young men and their families within reach of the army. Most between the ages of fifteen and twenty-five began to flee from one village to another and toward India. Many of those reluctant to leave their homes were forced to flee by mothers and sisters concerned for their safety.” (Death By Government, p. 329.) Rummel describes (p. 323) a chilling gendercidal ritual, reminiscent of Nazi procedure towards Jewish males:

“In what became province-wide acts of genocide, Hindus were sought out and killed on the spot. As a matter of course, soldiers would check males for the obligated circumcision among Moslems. If circumcised, they might live; if not, sure death.”

Robert Payne describes scenes of systematic mass slaughter around Dacca (Dhaka) that, while not explicitly “gendered” in his account, bear every hallmark of classic gender-selective roundups and gendercidal slaughters of non-combatant men:

In the dead region surrounding Dacca, the military authorities conducted experiments in mass extermination in places unlikely to be seen by journalists. At Hariharpara, a once thriving village on the banks of the Buriganga River near Dacca, they found the three elements necessary for killing people in large numbers: a prison in which to hold the victims, a place for executing the prisoners, and a method for disposing of the bodies. The prison was a large riverside warehouse, or godown, belonging to the Pakistan National Oil Company, the place of execution was the river edge, or the shallows near the shore, and the bodies were disposed of by the simple means of permitting them to float downstream. The killing took place night after night. Usually the prisoners were roped together and made to wade out into the river. They were in batches of six or eight, and in the light of a powerful electric arc lamp, they were easy targets, black against the silvery water. The executioners stood on the pier, shooting down at the compact bunches of prisoners wading in the water. There were screams in the hot night air, and then silence. The prisoners fell on their sides and their bodies lapped against the shore. Then a new bunch of prisoners was brought out, and the process was repeated. In the morning the village boatmen hauled the bodies into midstream and the ropes binding the bodies were cut so that each body drifted separately downstream. (Payne, Massacre [Macmillan, 1973], p. 55.)

Strikingly similar and equally hellish scenes are described in the case-studies of genocide in Armenia and the Nanjing Massacre of 1937.

Bangladeshi authorities claim that 3 million people were slaughtered, while the Hamoodur Rahman Commission, an official Pakistan Government investigation, put the figure as low as 26,000 civilian casualties. The fact is that the number of dead in Bangladesh in 1971 was almost certainly well into seven figures. It was one of the worst genocides of the World War II era, outstripping Rwanda (800,000 killed) and probably surpassing even Indonesia (1 million to 1.5 million killed in 1965-66).

        As R.J. Rummel writes:

The human death toll over only 267 days was incredible. Just to give for five out of the eighteen districts some incomplete statistics published in Bangladesh newspapers or by an Inquiry Committee, the Pakistani army killed 100,000 Bengalis in Dacca, 150,000 in Khulna, 75,000 in Jessore, 95,000 in Comilla, and 100,000 in Chittagong. For eighteen districts the total is 1,247,000 killed. This was an incomplete toll, and to this day no one really knows the final toll. Some estimates of the democide [Rummel’s “death by government”] are much lower — one is of 300,000 dead — but most range from 1 million to 3 million. … The Pakistani army and allied paramilitary groups killed about one out of every sixty-one people in Pakistan overall; one out of every twenty-five Bengalis, Hindus, and others in East Pakistan. If the rate of killing for all of Pakistan is annualized over the years the Yahya martial law regime was in power (March 1969 to December 1971), then this one regime was more lethal than that of the Soviet Union, China under the communists, or Japan under the military (even through World War II). (Rummel, Death By Government, p. 331.)

People regard that the best option is to regard “3 million” as not an absolute but an arbitrary number. The proportion of men versus women murdered is impossible to ascertain, but a speculation might be attempted. If we take the highest estimates for both women raped and Bengalis killed (400,000 and 3 million, respectively); if we accept that half as many women were killed as were raped; and if we double that number for murdered children of both sexes (total: 600,000), we are still left with a death-toll that is 80 percent adult male (2.4 million out of 3 million). Any such disproportion, which is almost certainly on the low side, would qualify Bangladesh as one of the worst gendercides against men in the last half-millennium.

“For month after month in all the regions of East Pakistan the massacres went on,” writes Robert Payne. “They were not the small casual killings of young officers who wanted to demonstrate their efficiency, but organized massacres conducted by sophisticated staff officers, who knew exactly what they were doing. Muslim soldiers, sent out to kill Muslim peasants, went about their work mechanically and efficiently, until killing defenseless people became a habit like smoking cigarettes or drinking wine. … Not since Hitler invaded Russia had there been so vast a massacre.” (Payne, Massacre, p. 29.)

There is no doubt that the mass killing in Bangladesh was among the most carefully and centrally planned of modern genocides. A cabal of five Pakistani generals orchestrated the events: President Yahya Khan, General Tikka Khan, chief of staff General Pirzada, security chief General Umar Khan, and intelligence chief General Akbar Khan. The U.S. government, long supportive of military rule in Pakistan, supplied some $3.8 million in military equipment to the dictatorship after the onset of the genocide, “and after a government spokesman told Congress that all shipments to Yahya Khan’s regime had ceased.” (Payne, Massacre, p. 102.)

The genocide and gendercidal atrocities were also perpetrated by lower-ranking officers and ordinary soldiers. These “willing executioners” were fuelled by an abiding anti-Bengali racism, especially against the Hindu minority. “Bengalis were often compared with monkeys and chickens. Said Pakistan General Niazi, ‘It was a low lying land of low lying people.’ The Hindus among the Bengalis were as Jews to the Nazis: scum and vermin that [should] best be exterminated. As to the Moslem Bengalis, they were to live only on the sufferance of the soldiers: any infraction, any suspicion cast on them, any need for reprisal, could mean their death. And the soldiers were free to kill at will. The journalist Dan Coggin quoted one Punjabi captain as telling him, ‘We can kill anyone for anything. We are accountable to no one.’ This is the arrogance of Power.” (Rummel, Death By Government, p. 335.)
        • Pakistani Army Desecrated Churches in 1971

The atrocities of the razakars in killing the Bengalis equaled those of their Pakistani masters. An excerpt from an article written in the Azad, dated January 15, 1972, underscores the inhuman atrocities of the Pakistani troops and their associates, the razakar and al-Badr forces:

‘….The people of Narail can bear witness to the reign of terror, the inhuman atrocities, inflicted on them after (General) Yahya let loose his troops to do what they would. After March 25, many people fled Jessore in fear of their lives, and took refuge in Narail and its neighboring localities. Many of them were severely bashed by the soldiers of Yahya and lost their lives. Very few people ever returned. Bhayna is a flourishing village near Narail. Ali Akbar is a well-known figure there. On April 8, the Pakistani troops surrounded the village on the pretext that it was a sanctuary for freedom fighters. Just as fish are caught in a net so too were the people of this village all assembled, in an open field. Then everyone- men, women, and children–were all forced to line up. Young men between the ages of 25 and 30 were lined up separately. 45 people were shot to death on the spot. Three of Ali Akbar’s brothers were killed there. Ali Akbar was able to save himself by lying on the ground. But no one else of that group was as fortunate. Nadanor was the Killing field. Every day 20 to 30 people were taken there with their hands tied behind their backs, and killed. The dead bodies would be flung into the river. Apart from this, a slaughter house was also readied for Bengalis. Manik, Omar, and Ashraf were sent to Jessore Cantonment for training and then brought to this slaughter house. Every day they would slaughter 9 to 12 persons here. The rate per person was Taka ten. On one particular day, 45 persons were slaughtered here. From April 15 to December 10, the butchery continued. It is gathered that 2,723 people lost their lives here. People were brought here and bashed, then their ears were cut off, and their eyes gouged out. Finally they were slaughtered… : The Chairman of the Peace Committee was Moulana Solaiman. With Dr. Abul Hussain and Abdul Rashid Mukhtar, he assisted in the genocide. Omar would proudly say, “During the day I am Omar, at night I am Shimar( legendary executioner famous for extreme cruelty). Don’t you see my dagger? There are countless Kafirs (heretics) on it.”

CHUKNAGAR: The largest genocide during the Bangladesh Liberation War in 1971

Chuknagar is a small business town located in the Dumuria Thana of Khulna district and very close to the India Bangladesh border. In 71 thousands of refugees gathered in Chuknagar to go to Kolkata. According to a conservative account around ten thousand people were in Chuknagar waiting to cross the border.
In the early morning of May 10, the fatal day around 10am two trucks carrying Paki troops arrived at Kautala (then known as Patkhola). The Pakis were not many in number, most possibly a platoon or so. As soon as the Paki trucks stopped, the Pakis alighted from the truck carrying light machine guns (LMGs) and semi automatic rifles and opened fire on the public. Within a few minutes a lively town turned into a city of death.

The accounts of the two hundred interviewees were same. They differed only in details. “There were piled up dead bodies. Dead Kids’ on dead mum’s laps. Wives hugging their beloved husbands to protect them from killer bullets. Dads’ hugging their daughters to shield them. Within a flash they all were just dead bodies. Blood streamed into the Bhadra river, it became a river of corps. A few hours later when the Paki bastards ran out of bullets, they killed the rest of the people with bayonet.”

According to Gregory H. Stanton, President, Genocide Watch there are eight stages of a genocide. All of them are evident in the genocide commited by the Pakistan forces. The last of the eight stages is denial:
It is among the surest indicators of further genocidal massacres. The perpetrators of genocide dig up the mass graves, burn the bodies, try to cover up the evidence and intimidate the witnesses. They deny that they committed any crimes, and often blame what happened on the victims.

          • TOTAL WAR

            1. The quotations listed by chapter and verse in this document are taken from the authorized translation of the QURAN sponsored, financed, and distributed world-wide by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Care has been taken not to quote any injunction or precept out of context. The verses are quoted in their traditional order, for ease of reference to the original Arabic as well as to other translations.

The translation helpfully uses square brackets, [for the identification of Jews and Christians, for instance] and explanatory parentheses; these have been retained in the quotations and no additional comments or notes have been inserted except where shown in italics. The grammar, spelling and punctuation of this translation have also been retained.

2.While reflecting on these excerpts, the reader has to bear in mind that, to the faithful, the Holy Book of Islam is the transcript of a tablet preserved in Heaven, eternal and immutable, the final expression of Allah’s will; the speaker throughout is Allah. Hence the enormity of the practical implications of its teachings.

3.In recent years, much has been heard about ‘Islam’ as a religion of compassion and peace. With the exception of scholars and students of comparative religion, no one in the West has really taken the trouble to study or read the Quran from cover to cover; none of the Christian, Jewish or others, considered to be ‘Unbelieving’ religious authorities (Hindus, Buddhists, Animists, Atheists, etc), one has spoken to, has claimed to have any but the most superficial and fragmentary knowledge of its contents.

They certainly had no idea about the contemptuous anti-‘Unbelievers’, anti-Christian and anti-Jewish dogmas it contains. Most Jews, and certainly most Christians and other ‘Unbelievers’, have no idea that the Quran is a veritable, relentless tirade against all of them. As will be seen from the following pages, the Quran can only be described as a ‘Gospel’ of hate.

4.The proposed new UK legislation against incitement to religious hatred has been designed, we are told,
“to protect Muslims from religious hatred”; that is why it is being vociferously welcomed by the Council of British Muslims.
The Quran does not only incite, but also preaches explicit hatred against Christians, Jews and all other non-Muhammadan Muslims (Unbelievers). Will the new legislation protect the majority of the people of this country from the hatred preached by the imams in Britain’s over twelve hundred mosques every Friday?

5.It would be interesting to obtain a legal opinion as to whether the open incitement contained in these Quranic precepts, falls within the remit of the proposed legislation?

6.The tragic fact is, that most decent human beings, find it almost impossible to believe, that an alleged holy book, such as Muhammad’s Quran, could possibly contain so much hatred, anger, injustice and immorality.

The inability of ordinary decent people to comprehend, let alone accept the reality, of the totally depraved indifference that is shown by Muhammad’s Quran, towards all human life in general, but vis a vis the ‘UNBELIEVERS’ in particular, is beyond their imagining.

That is why, I have attempted to put together, most of the relevant warmongering, hatemongering and insulting verses of the Quran under one single heading.

Anyone who has studied Muhammad’s Quran, will know that none of them has been taken out of context, changed, perverted or tampered with. Those who have not read or studied Muhammad’s Quran, can easily verify the veracity of the following verses by actually reading them.

In summation, in the year 622AD, the first warmongering verse was ‘revealed’, that which is called

            THE SWORD VERSE

Al Tauba 9:” 5 But when the forbidden months are past then fight and slay the pagans wherever ye find them and seize them beleaguer them and lie in wait for them in every stratagem (of war); but if they repent and establish regular prayers and practice regular charity then open the way for them: for Allah is Oft-Forgiving Most Merciful”

Muhammad in his Quran, declared total and eternal WAR, against all those who do not believe (UNBELIEVERS) in ‘Allah AND in Muhammad as his messenger’.

Those who are not followers of the CULT of Muhammad, are given three choices:

            1 Convert and be saved.

2 Submission to eternal and utter humiliation is offered for the peoples of the Book, such as the Jews, Christians and Zoroasterians.

3 Death, enslavement and forced conversion, to be inflicted upon: Hindus, Buddhists, Animists, Atheists and the like.

It is left to the reader, after investigating, comparing and contrasting Muhammad’s Quran, the Bible and other available references, to make up one’s own mind

            IN SAUDI ARABIA

            QURAN Al Baqara 2

            Al Baqara 2:39

“Those who disbelieve and reject Our revelations are the dwellers of the Fire, they shall abide therein forever.”

Sura 2:59 “But the transgressors [the Jews] changed the word from that which had been told to them for another, so We sent upon the wrongdoers a punishment from the heaven because of their rebelling against Allah’s obedience.

Sura 2:65 “And indeed you [Jews] knew those among you who transgressed in the matter of the Sabbath. We [Allah] said to them: “Be you monkeys, despised and rejected.”

Sura 2:67 “And remember when Moses said to his people: ‘Verily, Allah commands you that you slaughter a cow.’

            {The ‘story’ of the cow – which has no basis in the Bible – follows, which tells the faithful how the Jews attempted, unsuccessfully, to deceive and outwit Allah: 67-73}

Sura 2:74 “Then after that your hearts [Jews] were hardened and became as stones or even worse in hardness. And indeed, there are stones out of which rivers gush forth and indeed, there are stones which split asunder so that water flows from them, and indeed, there are stones which fall down for fear of Allah. And Allah is not unaware of what you do.”

Sura 2:77 “Know they [Jews] not that Allah knows what they conceal and what they reveal?”

Sura 2:80 “And they [Jews] say, ‘Hell-fire shall not touch us but for a few hundred days.’ Say (O Muhammad): Have you taken a covenant from Allah, so that Allah will not break his covenant? Or is it that you say of Allah what you know not?”

Sura 2:85 “Then do you [Jews] believe in a part of the Scripture and reject the rest? Then what is the recompense of those who do so among you, except disgrace in the life of this world, and on the Day of Resurrection they shall be consigned to the most grievous torment.

Sura 2:86 “Their torment [the Jews] shall not be lightened nor shall they be helped.”

Sura 2:87 “And indeed, we gave Moses the Book and followed him up with a succession of Messengers … Is it that whenever there came to you [Jews] a Messenger with what you yourselves desired not, you grew arrogant? Some, you disbelieved and some, you killed.”

Sura 2:88 “And they [the Jews] say: ‘Our hearts are wrapped’ (i.e., do not hear or understand Allah’s Word.) Nay, Allah has cursed them for their disbelief, so little is that which they believe.”

Sura 2:89 “And when there came to them [the Jews], a Book (this Qur’an) from Allah confirming what is with them [the Torah and Gospel], although aforetime they had invoked Allah (for coming of Muhammad) in order to gain victory over those who disbelieved, then when there came to them that which they had recognised, they disbelieved in it. So let the Curse of Allah be on the disbelievers.”

Sura 2:92 “And indeed Moses came to you [Jews] with clear proofs, yet you worshipped the calf after he left, and you were wrongdoers.”

Sura 2:94 “Say to them [the Jews]: ‘If the Home of the hereafter with Allah is indeed for you especially and not for others, of mankind, then long for death if you are truthful.’
Sura 2:95 “But they will never long for it because of what their hands have done. And Allah is All-Aware of the wrongdoers.

Sura 2:96 “And verily, you will find them [the Jews] the greediest of mankind for life and (even greedier) than those who ascribe partners to Allah. Everyone of them wishes that he could be given a life of a thousand years but the grant of such life will not save him even a little from (due) punishment. And Allah is All-Seer of what they do.”

Sura 2:116 “And they [the Christians] say: ‘Allah has begotten a son’. Glory be to Him! Nay, to Him belongs that is in the heavens and on earth, and all surrender with obedience to Him.”

Sura 2:159 “Verily, those [the Jews and the Christians] who conceal the clear proofs, evidences and the guidance, which We have sent down, after We have made it clear for the people in the Book, they are the ones cursed by Allah and cursed by the cursers.”

Sura 2:161 “Verily, those who disbelieve, and die while they are disbelievers, it is they on whom is the Curse of Allah and of the angels and of mankind, combined.

Sura 2:162 “They will abide therein [under the curse in Hell], their punishment will neither be lightened nor will they be reprieved.”

Sura 2:191 “And kill them wherever you find them, and turn them out from where they have turned you out. Disbelief is worse than killing. And fight not with them at the Sacred Mosque, unless they (first) fight you there. But if they attack you, then kill them. Such is the recompense of the disbelievers.”

            QURAN Al Imran 3

Al Imran 3:10 “Verily, those who disbelieve, neither their properties nor their offspring will avail them whatsoever against Allah; and it is they who will be fuel of the Fire.”

Sura 3:12 “Say to those who disbelieve: ‘You will be defeated and gathered together to Hell, and worst indeed is that place to rest’.”

3:56 “As to those who disbelieve, I [Allah] will punish them with a severe torment in this world and in the Hereafter, and they will have no helpers.”

Sura 3:61 “Then whoever disputes with you concerning him [Jesus] after all the knowledge that has come to you [i.e. Jesus being a slave of Allah and having no share in Divinity] say: ‘Come, let us call our sons and your sons, our women and your women, ourselves and yourselves – then we pray and invoke the Curse of Allah upon those who lie [who believe Jesus is the son of Allah]’.”

Sura 3:69 “A party of the people of the Scripture [Jews and Christians] wish to lead you astray. But they shall not lead astray anyone except themselves, and they perceive not.”

Sura 3:70.”O people of the Scripture [Jews and Christians]: Why do you disbelieve in the revelations of Allah while you yourselves bear witness to their truth?”

Sura 3:71 “O people of the Scripture [Jews and Christians]: Why do you mix truth with false thoughts and conceal the truth while you know?”

Sura 3:75 “Among the people of the Scripture [Jews and Christians] is he who, if entrusted with a great amount of wealth, will readily pay it back; and among them there is he who, if entrusted with a single silver coin, will not repay it unless you constantly stand demanding, because they say: ‘There is no blame on us to betray and take the properties of the illiterates (Arabs).’ But they tell a lie against Allah while they know it.”

Sura 3:78 “And verily, among them [Jews and Christians] is a party who distort the Book with their tongues, so that you may think it is from the Book, but it is not from the Book, and they say: ‘This is from Allah,’ but it is not from Allah; and they speak a lie against Allah while they know it.”

Sura 3:85 “And whoever seeks a religion other than Islam, it will never be accepted of him, and in the Hereafter he will be one of the losers.”

Sura 3:87 “They [disbelievers] are those whose recompense is that on them rests the Curse of Allah, of the angels, and of all mankind.

Sura 3:100 “O you who believe! If you obey a group of those who were given the Scripture [Jews and Christians], they would indeed render you disbelievers after you have believed!”

Sura 3:110 “You [Muslims] are the best of peoples ever raised up for mankind; you enjoin [the ordinances of Islam] and forbid all that Islam has forbidden and you believe in Allah. And had the people of the Scripture [Jews and Christians] believed, it would have been better for them; among them are some who have faith, but most of them are wrongdoers.”

Sura 3:118 “O you who believe! Take not as your friends those outside your religion [Jews and Christians] since they will not fail to do their best to corrupt you. They desire to harm you severely. Hatred has already appeared from their mouths, but what their breasts conceal is far worse. Indeed We have made plain to you the revelations, if you understand.”

Sura 3:119 “Lo! You are the ones who love them [Jews and Christians] but they love you not, and you believe in all the Scriptures while they disbelieve in your Book. And when they meet you, they say, ‘We believe.’ But when they are alone they bite the tips of their fingers at you in rage. Say: ‘Perish in your rage.’ Certainly, Allah knows all the secrets in the breasts.”

Sura 3:151 “We shall cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve, because they [Christians] join others in worship with Allah, for which He had sent no authority; their abode will be the Fire and how evil is the abode of the wrong doers.”

Sura 3:181 “Indeed, Allah has heard the statement of those [Jews] who say: ‘Truly, Allah is poor and we are rich!’ We shall record what they have said and their killing of the Prophets unjustly, and we shall say: ‘Taste you the torment of the burning Fire'”.

            QURAN Al Nisa 4

Al Nisa 4:14 “And whosoever disobeys Allah and His Messenger and transgresses His limits, He will cast him into the Fire, to abide therein; and he shall have a disgraceful torment.”

Sura 4:46 “Among those who are Jews, there are some who displace words from (their) right places and say: ‘We hear your word and disobey.’ … But Allah has cursed them for their disbelief, so they believe not except a few.”

Sura 4:47 “O you who have been given the Scripture [Jews and Christians]! Believe in what We have revealed confirming what is (already) with you, before we efface faces (by making them like the back of necks; without nose, mouth, eyes, etc.) and turn them hindwards, or curse them as We cursed the Sabbath-breakers. And the Commandment of Allah is always executed.”

Sura 4:48 “Verily, Allah forgives not that partners [Jesus as son of God] should be set up with Him in worship, and whoever sets up partners with Allah in worship, he has indeed invented a tremendous sin.”

Sura 4:50 “Look, how they [Christians] invent a lie against Allah, and enough is that as a manifest sin.”

Sura4:51 “Have you not seen those who were given a portion of the Scripture [the Bible]? They believe in false gods and idols and say to the disbelievers that they are better guided as regards the way than the believers (Muslims).”

Sura 4:52 “They [Jews and Christians] are those whom Allah has cursed, and he whom Allah curses, you will not find for him any helper.”

Sura 4:55 “Of them [Jews and Christians] were some who believed in him (Muhammad – peace be upon him) and of them were some who averted their faces from him; and enough is Hell for burning them.”

Sura 4:56 “Surely! Those who disbelieve in Our Revelations We shall burn them in Fire. As often as their skins are roasted through, We shall change them for other skins that they may taste the punishment. Truly, Allah is Ever Most Powerful, All-Wise.”

Sura 4:74 “Let those believers who sell the life of this world for the Hereafter fight in the Cause of Allah, and whoso fights in the Cause of Allah and is killed or gets victory, We shall bestow on him a great reward.”

Sura 4:76 “Those who believe, fight in the Cause of Allah, and those who disbelieve, fight in the Cause of Satan. So fight you against the friends of Satan; ever feeble indeed is the plot of Satan.”

Sura 4:82 “Do they not then consider the Qur’an carefully? Had it been from other than Allah, they would surely have found therein much contradictions.”

Sura 4:84 “Then fight (O Muhammad) in the Cause of Allah and incite the believers (to fight along with you), it may be that Allah will restrain the evil might of the disbelievers. And Allah is Stronger in Might and Stronger in Punishing.”

Sura 4:89 “They wish that you reject Faith, as they have rejected, and thus that you all become equal. So take not friends from them, till they emigrate in the Way of Allah. But if they turn back (from Islam) take hold of them and kill them wherever you find them, and take neither friends nor helpers from them.”
Sura 4:93 “And whoever kills a believer [Muhammadan Muslim] intentionally, his recompense is Hell to abide therein, and the Wrath and the Curse of Allah are upon him, and a great punishment is prepared for him.”

Sura 4:115 “And whoever contradicts and opposes the Messenger after the right path has been shown clearly to him, and follows other than the believers’ way, We shall keep him in the path he has chosen, and burn him in Hell – what an evil destination.”

Sura 4:153 “The people of the Scripture [Jews] ask you to cause a book to descend upon them from heaven. Indeed they asked Moses for even greater than that, when they said: ‘Show us Allah in public,’ but they were struck with thunder-clap and lightning for their wickedness. Then they worshipped the calf even after clear signs had come to them.”

Sura 4:155 “Because of their breaking the covenant, and their rejecting the revelations of Allah, and of their killing the Prophets unjustly, and of their saying: ‘Our hearts are wrapped’ – nay, Allah has set a seal upon their hearts because of their disbelief, so they believe not but a little.

            Sura 4:156 “And because of their disbelief and uttering against Mary a grave false charge;

Sura 4:157 “And because of their saying, ‘We killed Messiah Jesus son of Mary, the messenger of Allah’, – but they killed him not, nor crucified him but the resemblance of Jesus was put over another man, and those who differ therein are full of doubts. They have no knowledge, they follow nothing but conjecture. For surely; they killed him not.”

            Sura 4:160 “For the wrong-doing of the Jews, We made unlawful to them certain good foods which has [sic] been lawful to them, and for their hindering many from Allah’s Way;

Sura 4:161 “And their taking of usury though they were forbidden from taking it and their devouring of men’s substance wrongfully (bribery, etc.). And We have prepared for the disbelievers among them a painful torment.”

Sura 4:171 “O people of the Scripture [Jews and Christians]! Do not exceed the limits in your religion, nor say of Allah aught but the truth. The Messiah Jesus son of Mary was (no more than) a Messenger of Allah and His Word which He bestowed on Mary and a spirit created by Him; so believe in Allah and His Messenger. Say not: ‘Three!’ Cease! It is better for you. For Allah is one God, Far Exalted is He above having a son.”

            QURANAl Ma’idah 5

Al Maiidah 5:13 “So because of their [the Jews] breach of their covenant, We cursed them and made their hearts grow hard. They change the words from their (right) places and have abandoned a good part of the Message that was sent to them and you will not cease to discover deceit in them, except a few of them.”

Sura5:14 “And from those who call themselves Christians, We took their covenant, but they have abandoned a good part of the Message that was sent to them. So We planted amongst them enmity and hatred till the Day of Resurrection, and Allah will inform them of what they used to do.”

Sura 5:17 “Surely, in disbelief are they who say that Allah is the Messiah, son of Mary.”

Sura 5:18 “And both the Jews and the Christians say: ‘We are the children of Allah and His loved ones.’ Say: ‘Why then does He punish you for your sins?’ Nay, you are but human beings of those He has created, He forgives whom He wills and He punishes whom He wills.”

Sura 5:33 “The recompense of those who wage war against Allah and his Messenger and do mischief in the land is only that they shall be killed or crucified or their hands and their feet be cut off on the opposite sides, or be exiled from the land. That is their disgrace in this world, and a great torment is theirs in the Hereafter.”

Sura 5:55 “O you who believe! Do your duty to Allah and fear Him. Seek the means of approach to Him, and go on a Jihad in His Cause as much as you can. So that you may be successful.”

Sura 5:38 “Cut off the hand of the thief, male or female, as a recompense for that which they committed, a punishment by way of example from Allah. And Allah is All-Powerful, All-Wise.”

Sura 5:41 “O Messenger! Let not those who hurry to fall into disbelief grieve you, of such who say: ‘We believe’ with their mouths but their hearts have no faith. And of the Jews are men who listen much and eagerly to lies – listen to others who have not come to you. They change the words from their places; they say, ‘If you are given this, take it, but if you are not given this, then beware!’ … Those are the ones whose hearts Allah does not want to purify; for them there is a disgrace in this world, and in the Hereafter a great torment.”

Sura 5:51 “O you who believe! Take not the Jews and the Christians as your friends, they are but friends to one another. And if any amongst you takes them as friends, then surely he is one of them. Verily, Allah guides not those people who are wrongdoers.”

Sura 5:57 “O you who believe! Take not for friends those who take your religion for a mockery and fun from among those who received the Scripture [Jews and Christians] before you, nor from among the disbelievers; and fear Allah if you indeed are true believers.”

Sura 5:59 “Say: ‘O people of the Scripture [Jews and Christians]! Do you criticize us for no other reason than that we believe in Allah, and in the revelation which has been sent down to us and in that which has been sent down before us, and that most of you are rebellious and disobedient to Allah?'”

Sura 5:60 “Say (O Muhammad) to the people of the Scripture: ‘Shall I inform you of something worse than that, regarding the recompense from Allah: those Jews who incurred the Curse of Allah and His Wrath, those of whom some He transformed into monkeys and swines, those who worshipped false deities; such are worse in rank and far more astray from the Right Path.'”

Sura 5:62 “And you see many of them [Jews] hurrying for sin and transgression, and eating illegal things [as bribes, usury, etc.]. Evil indeed is that which they have been doing.

Sura 5:63 “Why do not the rabbis and the religious learned men forbid them from uttering sinful words and from eating illegal things. Evil indeed is that which they have been performing.”

Sura 5:64 “The Jews say: ‘Allah’s Hand is tied up.’ Be their hands tied up and be they accursed for what they uttered. Nay, both His Hands are widely outstretched. He spends of His Bounty as He wills. Verily, the Revelation that has come to you from Allah increases in most of them their obstinate rebellion and disbelief. We have put enmity and hatred amongst them till the Day of Resurrection. Every time they kindled the fire of war Allah extinguished it; and they ever strive to make mischief on earth. And Allah does not like the mischief-makers.”

Sura 5:66 “And if only they had acted according to the Torah and the Gospel, and what has now been sent down to them from their Lord (the Qur’an), they would surely have gotten provision from above them and from underneath their feet. There are from among them people who are on the right course, but many of them do evil deeds.”

Sura 5:68 “Say (O Muhammad!): ‘O people of the Scripture [Jews and Christians]! You have nothing (as regards guidance) till you act according to the Torah and the Gospel and what has now been sent down to you from your Lord (the Qur’an).’ Verily, that which has been sent down to you from your Lord increases in many of them their obstinate rebellion and disbelief. So be not sorrowful over the people who disbelieve.”

Sura 5:69 “Surely, those who believe, those who are the Jews and the Sabians and the Christians, – whosoever believed in Allah in the Last Day, and worked righteousness, on them shall be no fear nor shall they grieve.”

Sura 5:70 “Verily, We took the covenant of the Children of Israel and sent them Messengers. Whenever there came to them a Messenger with what they themselves desired not – a group of them they called liars , and others among them they killed.”

Sura 5:72 “Surely, they have disbelieved who say: ‘Allah is the Messiah son of Mary.’ But the Messiah said: ‘O Children of Israel! Worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord.’ Verily, whosoever sets up partners in worship with Allah, then Allah has forbidden Paradise for him, and the Fire will be his abode. And for the wrongdoers there are no helpers.”

Sura 5:73 “Surely, disbelievers are those who said: ‘Allah is the third of the three.’ But there is no God but One God. And if they cease not from what they say, verily a painful torment will befall the disbelievers among them.”

Sura 5:74 “The Messiah son of Mary was no more than a Messenger; many were the messengers that passed away before him. His mother was a true believer. They both used to eat food. Look how We make the revelations clear to them, yet look how they are deluded away.”

Sura 5:78 “Those among the Children of Israel who disbelieved were cursed by the tongue of David and Jesus son of Mary. That was because they disobeyed (Allah and the Messengers) and were ever transgressing beyond bounds.”

Sura 5:79 “They used not to forbid one another from the wrongdoing which they committed. Vile indeed was what they used to do.”

Sura 5:80 “You see many of them taking the disbelievers as their friends. Evil indeed is that which their ownselves have sent forward before them, for that reason Allah’s Wrath fell upon them and in torment they will abide.”

Sura 5:82 “Verily, you will find the strongest among men in enmity to the believers [Muhammadan Muslims] are the Jews and Pagans, and you will find the nearest in love to the believers those who say: ‘We are Christians’ that is because amongst them are priests and monks, and they are not proud.”

Sura 5:83 “And when they [Christians] listen to what has been sent down to the Messenger, you see their eyes overflowing with tears because of the truth they have recognised. They say: ‘Our Lord! We believe; so write us down among the witnesses.'”

Sura 5:86 “But those who disbelieved and belied Our revelations, they shall be the dwellers of the Fire.”

Sura 5:115 “Allah said: ‘I am going to send it down on to you, but if any of you after that disbelieves then I will punish him with a torment such as I have not inflicted on anyone among all mankind and jinns.'”

Sura 5:116 “And remember when Allah will say (on the Day of Resurrection): ‘O Jesus son of Mary! Did you say unto men: ‘Worship me and my mother as two gods besides Allah?’ He will say: ‘Glory be to You! It was not for me to say what I had no right to say. Had I said such a thing, You would surely have known it. You know what is in my inner-self though I do not know what is in Yours, truly, You, only You, are the All-Knower of all that is hidden and unseen.'”
