Two students, who were detained by Delhi Police on Sunday in connection with the arrest of IM operatives, were released following protests by Jamia Nagar residents, by late evening.

The protests received strong support from the Aam Aadmi Party, led by their Okhla leader Amanatulaah Khan.

People of Okhla protested for well over 12 hours under AAP’s Amanatullah Khan.

Local Congress MLA Asif Mohammad Khan and East Delhi Congress MP Sandeep Dikshit were conspicuously absent during the whole episode.

A lot of anger was witnessed among the people of the locality with their local Congress leadership. Many were of the opinion that the arrests were made at the behest of Congress and Muslim youth are being falsely implicated in fake terror cases.

Some even said that it seemed like there was preparation for a Batla House type ‘fake encounter’ but heavy presence of local people, who came out on the streets in large numbers, deterred the police from doing so.

During the protests, AAP leader Amanatullah Khan said, “till the time all innocent people are released, the dharna (sit-in) will continue.”

finally delhi Police had to release the two youth. Police, however, asked the two students to co-operate with the police during probe in this case.

The police detained the two students following the arrest of four terrorists in Rajasthan. The police claimed that the detained terrorists were planning to strike during the coming Lok Sabha elections.

Talking about the arrest of four terrorists, Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde said, “It is a big success. Waqas was wanted in many cases.” Shinde, however, did not divulge more details.

Waqas is a close aide of Yasin Bhatkal and was wanted in several cases, including the 2011 Zaveri Bazar blasts in Mumbai.

Waqas also known as Zia ur Rehman is a Pakistani national. He is an expert in bomb-making. Apart from Waqas, three other terror suspects Mohammad Waqar Azhar, Mohammad Mahruf and Shaquib Ansari were also arrested by Delhi Police.

Waqas was involved in the Jama Masjid shootout in September, 2010, the Varanasi bomb blast in December, 2010, the Mumbai serial blasts in July, 2011, the 2012 Pune blasts and the Hyderabad twin blasts in February 2013.

  1. PATHANS AS THE DESCENDANTS OF THE LOST TRIBE OF ISRAEL

    One subject of the Lost Tribes which has generally been ignored which I found to be personally fascinating are the tribe of the Pathans.

    The people of Pathans now number 15 million people living mainly in Pakistan and Afghanistan as well as in Persia and India. They have a tradition of being of the Lost Tribes and have Israeli customs.

    The Pathans have custom of circumcision on the 8th day. This is a known Jewish custom, and is the oldest Jewish tradition. I myself witnessed and was present at a very joyous circumcision ceremony on the 8th day after birth. Muslims have custom of circumcision but it is not on the 8th day, and usually at the age of 12.

    The Pathans have a sort of small Tallit called Kafan. This is a 4 cornered garment which they tie strings similar to the fringes (Jews call them Tzitzit) and is one of the oldest Jewish traditions going back to the Torah and it is a sign of their Israeli origin. They also have bigger Tallit which they call Joy-Namaz. It is a garment 2-3 meters sq., and it is made to cover the head and part of the shoulders, and is used for prayer by spreading on the ground in the Muslim fashion. It has no fringes.

    The Pathans have custom of the Sabbath. The Sabbath is considered a day of rest and they do not labor, cook or bake. The Pathans prepare 12 Hallot (traditional Jewish bread, Leviticus 24:5) in honor of the Sabbath as was done in the ancient temple. One of the significant indicators proving the Israeli origins of the Pathans is the lighting of the candle to honor the Sabbath. After lighting, the candle is covered usually by a large basket. The candle is lit by a woman past her menopause.

    Pathans Live in Customs of Israelites

    Pathans have custom of Kosher, dietary laws same as Jews. Pathans do not eat horse or camel meat, which is most common in their area but of course forbidden to Jews. There is some evidence to their not eating meat and milk together which is also an ancient Israeli tradition. And they have a tradition regarding differentiating between pure and impure birds which means permitted and not permitted birds similar to the Torah.

    Some still wear a small box which Jews call Tefillin (phylactery) containing a verse of the Bible. This box resemble Japanese Tokin of Yamabushi’s forehead, too. This is an ancient custom of Israel. In the Jewish box there is the verse of Shema Israel, that is, “Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one!” (Deuteronomy 6:4) This custom of Tefillin came from a verse of the Scriptures, “You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes” (Deuteronomy 6:8).
    It is interesting to note that the Pathans retain family names of the Lost Tribes such as Asher, Gad, Naphtali, Reuben and Manasseh and Ephraim. Among them there are people who are called by these names, which are of the Ten Lost Tribes of Israel. There are also people who are called Israel, Samuel, and so on, which are never found among the Muslims. There are also many areas as locations, neighborhoods and villages with names of places that are similar to names in the land of Israel.

    The region has archeological finds testifying to a Hebrew past, and they also resemble Jews of the area and their language Pashtu surprisingly has many Hebrew words. The Pathans are also called Afghans, or sons of the Pashtu which is their language, were mostly called “Bani-Israel” meaning children of Israel even though they live today as devout Muslims.

    The external appearance of the Pathans resemble the Jews of the area. Together with their ancient customs and other data there is a definite connection that can be made to the Tribes of Israel.

    The Pathans number 6 to 7 million in Afghanistan and 7 to 8 million in Pakistan. They live in the border area between these two countries and about 2 million live as nomads. These Pathans desire for their independence, which is supported by Afghanistan and is a cause of constant tension in Pakistan which does not desire their independence.

    Pathans’ Law Resembles the Torah

    Afghanistan is one of the least developed countries of Asia and the majority of the population is illiterate. They work primarily in farming and sheep-raising and other domesticated animals.

    Most people still live in villages and some even live as nomads. It is a country that is ruled by Islamic religious law and more than 90 % of the population are Sunni Muslims. But whatever modernization has taken place, it has not reached the mountainous border areas. Here the Pathans continue their centuries old tribal life.

    The legal system which is known as Pashtunwali, the law of the Pashtu, is very similar to the Torah, which is the holiest Jewish book and the book of ancient Jewish way of life. There are pages and even complete books among the pathans and they honor greatly what is called Tavrad El Sharif (the Torah of Moses), and they rise at the mention of the name of Moses even though it is not important in Islam.

    The Pathans are very healthy, tall, and have strong light-skinned appearance. They are warriors and carry arms from a young age, they are hardworking, wise, truthful and extremely loyal and they also have a worldwide reputation for exemplary hospitality.
    The ethnic origin of these Pathans has puzzled people for some time because they are different both externally and in the character traits from the other groups around them such as the Turks, the Mongolians, the Persians, or the Indo-Iranians. It is also difficult to trace their past history in a region in which tens of nations and major tribes of various origins have come and gone.

    The personal identification of the Pathan Tribes with their Israelite origin is expressed in various ways. Besides the oral tradition related by the elders of the tribe, there are also interesting testimonies of keeping of scrolls of genealogy among the tribes, reaching back to the Fathers of the Jewish nation.

    These scrolls are well preserved and some are written in gold on the skins of a doe. No less interesting and significant are the names of the tribes which bear close resemblance to the Tribes of Israel. The Rabbani Tribe is really Reuben, the Shinware Tribe is Shimon, the Lewani Tribe is Levi, The Daftani Tribe is Naphtali, and the Jaji Tribe is Gad, and the Ashuri Tribe is Asher, The Yusefsai Tribe is sons of Joseph, and the Afridi Tribe is really Ephraim. These are the names of the Ten Lost Tribes of Israel.
    The Pathans themselves point out the differences between the original names of the tribes and their present names are because of the different dialects of the languages so that, for instance, Jaji was actually called Gaji for the tribe of Gad.

    There are some Jews of Afghanistan today who count the Tribe of Israel among the Pathans. The physical similarity between the Pathans and other Jews is exemplified by the British ruled Afghanistan for a great length of time and called the Pathans Jews. When not wearing their traditional clothing Pathans are indistinguishable from other Jews of the area. Among the 21 nations of Afghanistan only the Pathans and the Jews have Semitic features, their faces are longer and lighter, and some even have blue eyes. Like the Jews of the area, Pathans grow beards and sidelocks which further serve to make them indistinguishable from Jews.

    Israeli Features of the Pathans

    The Pathans have many other features as descendants of Israelites.
    Their wedding is like Jewish. Wedding ceremony with the Pathans includes a marriage canopy and rings similar to the Jewish custom.

    Women of the Pathans keep laws similar to the Jewish laws regarding menstruation. During this time and for 7 days after, no contact is allowed with the husband. After this period, the woman immerses in a river or spring or in a bathhouse if a natural spring is not available. This is exactly the same as the Israeli tradition going back to the days of the Bible.

    Pathans have custom of levirate marriage, which is the custom when a husband dies without children, his brother marries the widow to keep the name of the house. This custom no longer exists today, but was an ancient Israeli custom mentioned in the Bible (Deuteronomy 25:5-6).

    The commandment to honor one’s parent is kept in exemplary manner in these tribes. The son must obey the parents in all matters. When the father enters the room all stand and bow their heads in his honor. This was a Israeli tradition as well.

    Pathans have custom of Yom Kippur. We know of some of the members of the Lewani Tribe who came to the Jewish synagogue on Yom Kippur each year in Afghanistan. He would stay there until sundown without uttering even one word. He spoke of the tradition of the Temple on this day and of the high priest and his work there.

    One year he erred in his calendar and did not come, he wept bitterly for one week for missing the observance of this day.

    The Pathans have custom of scapegoat. In ancient Israel there was the custom to put sins of the nation onto a goat and send the goat away to desert. This custom of scapegoat was done to atone the sins of the nation (Leviticus chapter 16). Similar custom is found even today among the Pathans.

    The Pathans usually pray in mosque. However some pray towards Jerusalem which is most unusual. There are some very old synagogues in their area and Pathans come to these synagogues on special days in times of great stress or tragedies or for special prayers. The individual who seeks help comes there to touch the lock and to pray. There are those who say that these places once contained scrolls of the Torah. This is interesting because today they are actually devout Muslims.

    At the time of plague the Pathans slaughter a sheep and sprinkle its blood on the doorpost of their homes. This is what the Israelites did in ancient Egypt during the plagues that occurred there.

    An interesting testimony relates to the placing of a wrapped book of Psalms of the Bible under the pillow of the ill in order to heal that person.

    There are those who have said that there are Amulets written in Hebrew. Some contain the phrase “Shema Israel” and it is secretly written by the head of the tribe and it is forbidden to open it.

    And the symbol of Shield of David (Star of David) is found in almost every Pathan house. The wealthy make it out of expensive metals and the poor out of simple wood. It can be seen in towers, in schools and also in tools, bracelets, and jewelry. I saw it at least 20 times in a variety of places. In Minerajan, the center of Afghanistan, there are even schools that have the Shield of David on the door or in the stone above the door.

    • Lucky bin Pathan, that is a very interesting observation…but are the Pathan Muslims OR Jews? I believe there is NO word like “JEW” in the whole of the Bible! Jew was a European tribe of Germany. The people living in the Middle East were called Israelites, the kids of Sir Jacob and NOT “Jews”!

      In order to settle the German “Jews” after the 2nd World War, the West…namely USA and UK, took up the Palestinian land, using the Saudi King and settled these guys there thus giving them one of the richest area in the world in return for control of the total Middle East(ME) oil resources as a base from there!

      The fight going on in the ME is NOT of religion but over Land issue…that the UK grabbed from the Palestinians…and that issue can NEVER be resolved!

And this house, which is so high, every one that pass by it shall be astonished, and shall say, Why has Yahweh done this to this land, and to this house? And they shall answer, Because they forsook Yahweh, the Elohim of their fathers, who brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, and laid hold on other elohim, and worshipped them, and served them: therefore has he brought all this evil upon them. 2 Chronicles 7:19-ff

        If they shall confess their iniquity, and the iniquity of their fathers, with their trespass which they trespassed against me, and that also they have walked contrary unto me; And that I also have walked contrary unto them, and have brought them into the land of their enemies; if then their uncircumcised hearts be humbled, and they then accept of the punishment of their iniquity: Then will I remember my covenant with Jacob, and also my covenant with Isaac, and also my covenant with Abraham will I remember; and I will remember the land Leviticus 26:40-45

        Rather than accept responsibility for their sins, I believe the vast majority of the Jewish people want sympathy. They have blamed the Almighty for the Holocaust! They have blamed the people of their own locale! They have placed the blame on just about everyone and everything for their dilemma! What went wrong? The Jewish people have been their own worst enemy many times in history. With the destruction of the two temples, they were penalized for their transgressions against Almighty Yahweh and the Torah into which they were bound unto death. The Jewish people are in a life and death struggle because of their covenant commitment. They have entered a covenant relationship with Almighty Yahweh, which is life if they obey, and death if they disobey, Deut. 30:15. I now must insert a view similar to my own concerning the reason for the Holocaust. I believe the Holocaust came because of SIN! This also bears true if you consider the destruction of the temples. The reason the temples were destroyed was because of SIN! Recently, the where was the loving Heavenly Father accusation once again arose, and why would he allow something like the Tsunami to happen? Would a loving Elohim allow such a tragedy? Please read the following. I will insert the correct Name/Names where applicable. The author/authors will receive full credit.

        THE HOLOCAUST – WHERE WAS YAHWEH?

        Chapter 9 – The Holocaust in the Context of Israel’s Past

        The scriptures bring us into an understanding of the concept of corporate sin and culpability. Yahweh sees differently than we do, and He judges an entire covenanted nation as a whole people. We Jews are implicated with our nation. Our individual life may be exceedingly virtuous, or at least we may think so, but, nevertheless, Yahweh sees us as incorporated into, and sharing in, the destiny of our own nation. This is why the great prophets, who were righteous men, in crying out to Yahweh, spoke as if they shared in the full identification of the sins of their nation: “We have sinned…We have done wickedly” (Daniel 9:5ff NKJV). Our modern individualistic society does not lend itself to this kind of biblical perception of reality where many individuals are dealt with as a corporate whole—and we suffer for that very rejection.

        We need Yahweh’s framework of understanding for a proper perception of the Jew and his predicament, and Yahweh has given us that in the covenant relationship between Himself and Israel. The necessary and critical understanding of this relationship has been lost to us as contemporary Jews. One evidence of this loss of a covenantal consciousness is the frequency of divorce. Covenantal things are heavenly. Men could not have invented them. What needs to be asked is whether divine covenant is still in force in terms of its penalties, and whether its stipulations are yet binding. At what point does it become abrogated and made null and void? Surely a covenant made remains in effect, and if we have not received its benefit and blessings by obedience to its terms, then are we equally under the penalty of its defection clauses? The absence of blessing, biblically speaking, is “curse,” that is, a malediction, a pronouncement of evils that follow covenantal failure.

        The fact that we are ignorant of our covenant obligation does not absolve us from that obligation. Something happened at Sinai thousands of years ago that implicates us now. Something was transacted that binds subsequent generations, even if we are ignorant of that transaction. Our very ignorance is itself an indictment. We are still under obligation to the things that were covenanted and understood. Every Jew is under obligation to the covenantal agreement either for blessing or for curse, depending on our relationship to Yahweh, because something was transacted between our fathers and Yahweh. We read in Deuteronomy 29:14-15 that:

        “Neither with you only do I make this covenant and this oath; but with him that stands here with us this day before the Yahweh our Elohim, and also with him that is not here with us this day.”
        The great pity is that we have not had men to teach us and to say so as shepherds who have been sufficiently concerned for our souls.

        John Bright in his book Covenants and Promises writes:

        “Deuteronomy places the nation’s very existence under the stipulation of covenant. It knows nothing of unconditional promises! Even the promise of the land is laid under warning and threat. In positively classical fashion, it addresses Israel as if she stood perpetually antecedent to the land—as if the promise of the land, long ago fulfilled, was yet an open question and subject to conditions. It addresses each generation as if she stood with her ancestors at Sinai and has personally bound themselves to the terms of the covenant:

        “Moses summoned all the Israelites and said to them: ‘Hear, O Israel, the laws and rules that I proclaim to you this day! Study them and observe them faithfully! Yahweh our Elohim made a covenant with us at Horeb. It was not with our fathers that Yahweh made this covenant, but with us, the living, every one of us who is here today’” (Deuteronomy 5:1-3).

        Israelites of whatever generation have committed themselves to the terms of the covenant. Deuteronomy calls them to absolute obedience to the covenant stipulations and warns them that if they do not obey, all the promised blessings will be taken away.”

        Where is there even so much as a hint, then, that its covenantal conditions are past, and that the Israel of any generation is exempt from its demands? Does not the apparent absence of blessings, as evidenced in the increasing anxiety, stress and mounting fears of Jewish life indicate that the Elohim of these covenantal requirements is Elohim still? From this perspective, how impertinent we are, in view of a two-thousand-year expulsion attesting to Yahweh’s oaths, to think that we can unilaterally repossess the Land without first considering the Elohim of Sinai and His covenantal demands. The biblical testimony, our tragic diasporic history, and the present State of Israel’s increasingly desperate plight would seem to indicate that such a theological interpretation remains true and is vitally significant.

        There is a condition for remaining in the Land. Yet, this condition is not even considered, let alone any attempt made to uphold it. One example of a lack in this regard is the increasingly deteriorating attitude toward Palestinians. As the threat to our own national existence becomes more and more pronounced because of them, what was unthinkable in the past becomes more and more commonplace. The Jewish propensity for ethics and morality is quickly subsiding, if not altogether dissolving. Are we going to find ourselves saying things and acting in ways that reveal, not some new tendency, but what has always been our historical propensity and character? If we are oppressing the alien, how shall we think that we have a conditionless tenure in the Land? Are we not inviting further expulsion and calamity? In fact, it may well be that the most profound index of covenant keeping is the treatment of the alien in the Land. Our present treatment of them is likely the most incriminating statement of a continuing covenant failure. But when has past failure been acknowledged and rectified? We who have an explicit statement of how to treat the stranger in our midst that goes back to the time of Moses, find ourselves ironically in the necessity of defense and the perpetuation of the State, acting in a way contrary to the requirement of Yahweh. To fail to consider this, as if Yahweh had not spoken, is to invite the curse that comes from failing to keep covenant agreement—a curse that requires expulsion from the Land!

        Does not the basis for which we were rejected then still hold? Are we now more admirably covenant-keeping than we were then? Are we not presently so utterly secular and Yahweh-rejecting that the word “covenant” is as absent from our lips as the word “Yahweh” itself?

        Let us consider the actual text of Leviticus 26:

        Ye shall make you no idols nor graven image, neither rear you up a standing image, neither shall ye set up any image of stone in your land, to bow down unto it: for I am Yahweh your Elohim.
        Ye shall keep my sabbaths, and reverence my sanctuary: I am Yahweh.
        If ye walk in my statutes, and keep my commandments, and do them;
        Then I will give you rain in due season, and the land shall yield her increase, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit.
        And your threshing shall reach unto the vintage, and the vintage shall reach unto the sowing time: and ye shall eat your bread to the full, and dwell in your land safely.
        And I will give peace in the land, and ye shall lie down, and none shall make you afraid: and I will rid evil beasts out of the land, neither shall the sword go through your land.
        And ye shall chase your enemies, and they shall fall before you by the sword.
        And five of you shall chase an hundred, and an hundred of you shall put ten thousand to flight: and your enemies shall fall before you by the sword.
        For I will have respect unto you, and make you fruitful, and multiply you, and establish my covenant with you.
        And ye shall eat old store, and bring forth the old because of the new.
        And I will set my tabernacle among you: and my soul shall not abhor you.
        And I will walk among you, and will be your Elohim, and ye shall be my people.
        I am the Yahweh your Elohim, which brought you forth out of the land of Egypt, that ye should not be their bondmen; and I have broken the bands of your yoke, and made you go upright” (Verses 1-13 KJV).
        This great chapter begins with the assurance of exceptional blessing as had not been promised to any other nation. From the blessings of the field to safety in the Land, the provision of Yahweh is lavish and predicated solely on Israel’s covenant faithfulness: “If ye walk in My statutes, and keep My commandments, and do them, then…” These temporal benefits are crowned with the promise of the very presence of Yahweh, “I will set My tabernacle among you: and My soul shall not abhor you. And I will walk among you, and will be your Elohim, and ye shall be My people.”

        What follows these promises of good are promises of evil, entitled “The Vengeance of the Covenant,” should Yahweh’s commandments and statutes be rejected. These comprise the greater portion of the chapter from verses 14-46:

        But if ye will not hearken unto me, and will not do all these commandments;
        And if ye shall despise my statutes, or if your soul abhor my judgments, so that ye will not do all my commandments, but that ye break my covenant:
        I also will do this unto you; I will even appoint over you terror, consumption, and the burning ague, that shall consume the eyes, and cause sorrow of heart: and ye shall sow your seed in vain, for your enemies shall eat it.
        And I will set my face against you, and ye shall be slain before your enemies: they that hate you shall reign over you; and ye shall flee when none pursueth you.
        And if ye will not yet for all this hearken unto me, then I will punish you seven times more for your sins.
        And I will break the pride of your power; and I will make your heaven as iron, and your earth as brass:
        And your strength shall be spent in vain: for your land shall not yield her increase, neither shall the trees of the land yield their fruits.
        And if ye walk contrary unto me, and will not hearken unto me; I will bring seven times more plagues upon you according to your sins.
        I will also send wild beasts among you, which shall rob you of your children, and destroy your cattle, and make you few in number; and your highways shall be desolate.
        And if ye will not be reformed by me by these things, but will walk contrary unto me;
        Then will I also walk contrary unto you, and will punish you yet seven times for your sins.
        And I will bring a sword upon you, that shall avenge the quarrel of my covenant: and when ye are gathered together within your cities, I will send the pestilence among you; and ye shall be delivered into the hand of the enemy.
        And when I have broken the staff of your bread, ten women shall bake your bread in one oven, and they shall deliver you your bread again by weight: and ye shall eat, and not be satisfied.
        And if ye will not for all this hearken unto me, but walk contrary unto me;
        Then I will walk contrary unto you also in fury; and I, even I, will chastise you seven times for your sins.
        And ye shall eat the flesh of your sons, and the flesh of your daughters shall ye eat.
        And I will destroy your high places, and cut down your images, and cast your carcasses upon the carcasses of your idols, and my soul shall abhor you.
        And I will make your cities waste, and bring your sanctuaries unto desolation, and I will not smell the savor of your sweet odors.
        And I will bring the land into desolation: and your enemies which dwell therein shall be astonished at it.
        And I will scatter you among the heathen, and will draw out a sword after you: and your land shall be desolate, and your cities waste.
        Then shall the land enjoy her sabbaths, as long as it lieth desolate, and ye be in your enemies’ land; even then shall the land rest, and enjoy her sabbaths.
        As long as it lieth desolate it shall rest; because it did not rest in your sabbaths, when ye dwelt upon it.
        And upon them that are left alive of you I will send a faintness into their hearts in the lands of their enemies; and the sound of a shaken leaf shall chase them; and they shall flee, as fleeing from a sword; and they shall fall when none pursueth.
        And they shall fall one upon another, as it were before a sword, when none pursueth: and ye shall have no power to stand before your enemies.
        And ye shall perish among the heathen, and the land of your enemies shall eat you up.
        And they that are left of you shall pine away in their iniquity in your enemies’ lands; and also in the iniquities of their fathers shall they pine away with them (Verses 14-39 KJV).
        Does not the tragic history of the nation up to modern times testify of Yahweh’s fidelity to His own word? The “terror” that is “appointed,” the cities laid waste, the desolation, the defeat by enemies and their rule over us, the scattering among the nations, the “heaven as iron, and your earth as brass,” are all “according to your sins.” As the author, S.H. Kellogg states in his classic commentary on Leviticus, all these terrible judgments reverse “and more than reverse, all the blessings.” He goes on to penetratingly comment on the principle of these threats as being applicable still:
        “The thought which runs through all these denunciations, and determines the form which they take, is this: that the judgments threatened as to follow each new display of hardness and impenitence on the part of Israel shall be marked by continually increasing severity; and the phrase “seven times,” by the reference to the sacred number “seven,” intimates that the vengeance should be “the vengeance of the covenant” (v.25), and also the awful thoroughness and completeness with which the threatened judgments, in case of their continued obduracy, would be inflicted” (p.535,).

        The unmistakable clarity of this word of Scripture makes one wonder why this has not remained as the first principle of interpretation for all the calamities of Israel, past, present and future. What has happened that would disqualify it? Kellogg comments, “So strictly true is this that we may accurately describe the history of the nation, from the days of Moses until now, as the translation of this chapter from the language of prediction to that of history” (p.538). From the capture and dispersion of the Northern Kingdom in 721 BCE to the fall of Jerusalem in 586 BCE, Israel’s sorrows fulfilled the divine decree. Kellogg declares, “The horrors of which the Lamentations of Jeremiah bear most sorrowful witness; what were all these events but an historical unfolding of the twenty-sixth chapter of Leviticus?…As apostasy has succeeded to apostasy, judgment has followed upon judgment.” All of this, to be sure, was written by Kellogg well before the Holocaust of the 20th century. But, considering the unchanged and impenitent condition of world Jewry still today, for what reason should we not be included as well in the curse of the covenant? That we are yet capable of being moved to indignation rather than remorse at such a suggestion may be the very proof of that unchanged condition! How quickly might Yahweh correct the view of world Jewry, if it is indeed mistaken, if we would at least begin with the reasonableness of this premise—that the entire covenant, both its blessings and curses, is valid still?

        The direct relationship that exists between the magnitude of Israel’s principal calamity (national destruction) and the “fury” of Yahweh, painstakingly described in Leviticus 26, “cannot be adequately explained,” Kellogg argues, “either on the supposition of fortunate guessing or of accidental coincidence” (p.540). Furthermore, lest we be tempted to consider these judgments as entirely past, Kellogg prophetically adds that though they were “fulfilled no doubt, to a degree, in the days of the Babylonian exile and the return, yet [they are] to receive a fulfillment far more minute, exhaustive, and impressive, in [future] centuries,” which, in Kellogg’s day, included the 20th century! (P.543, my emphasis)
        Yet, despite these ravages of history, how is the survival of this people to be explained?

        If they shall confess their iniquity, and the iniquity of their fathers, with their trespass which they trespassed against me, and that also they have walked contrary unto me;
        And that I also have walked contrary unto them, and have brought them into the land of their enemies; if then their uncircumcised hearts be humbled, and they then accept of the punishment of their iniquity:
        Then will I remember my covenant with Jacob, and also my covenant with Isaac, and also my covenant with Abraham will I remember; and I will remember the land.
        The land also shall be left of them, and shall enjoy her sabbaths, while she lieth desolate without them: and they shall accept of the punishment of their iniquity: because, even because they despised my judgments, and because their soul abhorred my statutes.
        And yet for all that, when they be in the land of their enemies, I will not cast them away, neither will I abhor them, to destroy them utterly, and to break my covenant with them: for I am the Yahweh their Elohim.
        But I will for their sakes remember the covenant of their ancestors, whom I brought forth out of the land of Egypt in the sight of the heathen, that I might be their Elohim: I am Yahweh.
        These are the statutes and judgments and laws, which the LORD made between him and the children of Israel in mount Sinai by the hand of Moses (Verses 40-46 KJV).

        Though we have boasted in our survival and continuation as a people as if it were somehow a tribute to our virtue, these verses make it clear that it is to be entirely attributed to Yahweh’s mercy.
        Kellogg rightly remarks (p.542),

        “The continued existence of this nation up to the present day, the preservation of its national peculiarities throughout thousands of years, in spite of all dispersion and oppression, remains so unparalleled a phenomenon, that without the special providential preparation of Yahweh, and His constant intervention and protection, it would be impossible to explain it. For where else is there a people over which such judgments have passed, and yet not ended in destruction?”

        The great “when” and “then” of world Jewry’s future is stated in verse 40 of our text: “And [when] they shall confess their iniquity, and the iniquity of their fathers, in their trespass which they trespassed against Me… if then their uncircumcised heart be humbled, and they then accept of the punishment of their iniquity; then will I remember my covenant with Jacob; and also My covenant with Isaac, and also My covenant with Abraham will I remember; and I will remember the land.”

        So, something is yet awaited and future—the great “if” of the humbled heart that “accepts of the punishment of their iniquity.” The partial return from Babylonian captivity and especially that which constitutes the present State of Israel, cannot possibly be the fulfillment of this prophecy. It is in the hope of this fulfillment, for which Yahweh Himself yet waits, that this modest book is being written. For:
        “Since those earlier days, Israel has again forsaken Yahweh, and committed the greatest of all national sins in the rejection and impalement of the promised Messiah; and therefore again, according to the threat of the earlier part of this chapter, they have been cast out of their land and scattered among the nations, and the land again, for centuries has been left a desolation” (Kellogg, p.546).

        It is true that this was written before the advent of the State of Israel in 1948. However, we must not think that Israel’s existence today constitutes the “I will remember the land” spoken of above. That still awaits the “when” of the confession of our iniquity. What is more likely, and as I have expressed elsewhere, is that we are providentially in the Land preparatory to yet another scattering and desolation determined by the conditions of the Levitical statement itself. What else can we expect, seeing that we have not been willing to consider the Holocaust as being “the punishment [i.e., judgment] of [our] iniquity” (v.41 above).
        The Nazi Holocaust, then, stands as the most profound challenge to our interpretation of the past and as a key to our future. To dismiss it as an aberration of history, the machinations of unaided evil men, rather than considering it as the promised judgment of Yahweh for our own iniquities, and the un-confessed iniquities of our fathers, is to invite a yet worse calamity—”seven times” worse! (See Leviticus 26:18 above.) Our very ignorance of this and other comparable texts in the Scriptures, and of the Scriptures themselves, are an evidence of the apostasy under whose judgment we continue to live.
        In Leviticus 26, then, as we have seen, Yahweh says that when we will acknowledge the sins of our fathers as being our own, and that the judgments that we have received are altogether just and righteous, then He will return and remember His covenant toward us. The sins of our fathers are our own until the day that we break ourselves from their sins by a heart-felt cry:

        “Those of you who survive shall be heartsick over their iniquity in the land of your enemies; more, they shall be heartsick over the iniquities of their fathers;
        and they shall confess their iniquity and the iniquity of their fathers, in that they trespassed against Me, yea, were hostile to Me.
        When I, in turn, have been hostile to them and have removed them into the land of their enemies, then at last shall their obdurate heart humble itself, and they shall atone for their iniquity.
        Then will I remember My covenant with Jacob; I will remember also My covenant with Isaac, and also My covenant with Abraham; and I will remember the land” (Leviticus 26:39-42).

        These Scriptures have not yet been historically fulfilled. What needs to be pressed on our Jewish consciousness is that thousands of years after the events, we remain linked with our people in their sins. The fact that we have not issued a disclaimer and broken that connection by a repudiation of their sin, and the acknowledgment of our own, means that we share in the unbroken continuum of it, and, therefore, the consequence of it. Our continuing silence is our indictment.”

        Is it easier to just be the victim and gain sympathy from anyone they can? The Holocaust survivors have taken the victim-sympathy approach. However, not every Holocaust survivor was content with this role. There were many who knew the real reason, but remained silent.

        Let’s examine the timeline before the course of events leading up to “The Final Solution” as the architects of Shoah labeled it!

        The covenant relationship with the Jewish people has always been one of life-and-death. Many times during history, the Jewish people apostatized from the Creator and sustainer of their lives. What was their relationship with the Creator? Because from Judah the Savior was to appear! Satan constantly interfered with the descendant line of Judah, thinking to perhaps destroy the lineage leading up to Moshiach! (Judah and all of the other tribes for that matter, transgressed Torah Law!) Also we find, from the tribe of Judah came the savior of humankind, Hebrews 7:14. He was also known as “the King of the Jews”. So the tribe of Judah had a special purpose!

        Is it right to blame the Jewish people for the Savior’s death? No!

        Because they were not alone in this decision! The course of humankind is determined by a higher power. Moshiach had to die for the sins of the Jewish people, and not only for them, the entire world as well! So it was imperative for the Savior to die! If he didn’t die for the sins of all the people of the world, there would be no redemption at all!

        Let me set the record straight! Hawke is Torah observant of long duration! Hawke is also a conservative minded individual raised with good values. Hawke believes that anyone who reads the Torah with an open mind will arrive at a conservative middle of the road conclusion! So that being settled, let’s continue!
        Let’s fast forward a little! Because the Jewish people rejected Moshiach the first time he came, the prophecy of Moshiach still remains open to the Jewish people. Was Moshiach to come in the time leading up to Shoah? Perhaps many were thinking along these lines before Shoah! I would like to quote Rabbi Jeff Forsythe on the Holocaust in relation to Torah observance.

        “ Admittedly, no mortal can second guess Yahweh’s infinite “thoughts.” But, Pirkei Avos (ch. 5) tells us to “Go through and through the Torah because everything is in it, and through it you shall see.” And, since there is very much suffering in our day – and much serious trampling on the rules of the Torah – from talking in shul to immorality, from chilul Yahweh (profaning Yahweh) to interpersonal (bain odom lechavairo) mistreatment, it can serve as a “wake up call” to realize that Yahweh exacts a serious price for violations of His Torah. Yahweh sends “collectors” constantly to take “payment for debts,” whether a person knows or not; the justice is always perfect; and reward is apportioned for all proper fulfillment of one’s duties (Pirkei Avos ch. 3).

        The Jewish people are in a covenant [a treaty, a solemn mutual promise] with Yahweh that basically makes Him our [Elohim] and the exclusive object of our devotion and service in all aspects of life, and makes us His special people who He will bless and take care of us like a compassionate and loving father will for his children. The Torah instructs us what to do so that we do our part. The Torah makes very clear in several places (e.g. the two “tochachos/admonitions [Leviticus and Deuteronomy] and the second paragraph of “Shema”) that the Jewish people are to be generously rewarded in material and spiritual terms if we actively and loyally obey the Torah properly. We will have happiness, comfort, health, protection, peace, well-being and success in all aspects of life. On the other hand, Yahweh will seriously punish for violating the Torah; or for despising the Torah; or for not obeying the Torah with diligence, happiness, good-heartedness and appreciation of Yahweh’s gifts. Even bad attitudes or views will be held against us and punishable!

        We are told, for instance, that if we abandon Yahweh and His Torah, He will abandon us. We will not have rain or crops. We will lack food to such a serious extent that mothers will have to eat their babies. The sky above us and the earth under us will be as metal. We will be so sick and terrified that when it is day we will wish it to be night and when it will be night we will wish it to be day. Others will take and dwell in our homes. Enemies will sweep down on us like an eagle (a symbol of the Nazis was the eagle) and conquer and kill and brutalize us. Those who survive will be faint and pine away from what they experience. The sound of a shaken leaf will terrorize us. We will have no power, no where to go and no one to turn to or save us. Yahweh will hide Himself from us and destroy our cities. We will farm, bake, raise animals and do work, and others, and not us, will reap the benefits. Life will be in doubt and our hearts will tremble. We will marry women but others will lie with them. Few of our enemies will chase thousands of us. Yahweh will cut us down and cast about our carcasses on the idolatry which they left Yahweh for. Animals and birds will eat the carcasses and no one will chase them away. Yahweh will make our sanctuaries and land desolate. We will be stricken with serious disease, injury, confusion, failure and insanity. If we have crops or materialism, it will be cursed. Our coming and going will be cursed. Whatever we do will be destroyed. We will be killed by our enemies, we will flee in many directions from them and be a horror to the nations of the world. Many of us will be destroyed and few in number will remain. These Torah statements describe the Holocaust.
        In the Aseress HaDibros (“Ten Commandments”), Yahweh tells us that He will wait for up to four generations for those who leave Torah, and for their descendants who continue abandonment of it. A Biblical generation is forty years, so four generations is 160 years. The reform movement started IN GERMANY 160 years before the beginning of World War Two. Jews left Torah in droves so that there were only a small minority who remained frum in Germany by the onset of the war. The Reform Jews abandoned and ridiculed Yiddishkeit. A favored expression was, “Be a Jew in the home and a man on the street.”

        What Rabbi Forsythe is saying, is nothing new! Torah violations brought certain punishments upon the people who were in violation. This did not only focus on the Jewish people but anyone who accepted the covenant of Yahweh as well. Leviticus chapter 26 and Deuteronomy chapter 28 is quite explicit in the blessings and the curses that follow disobedience to Torah. Why were the Temples destroyed? For Torah violations!

        I am disappointed that there is not more honest research works available where the Holocaust is concerned. Were the Jewish people just victims or were they in Torah violation? I think that depends entirely on who is writing the account! There is so much subject matter written on the Holocaust. However, there is very little written concerning the real truth of this judgment from on high. Ask yourself the question? Could Torah violation be the real reason for this tragedy? Was this possible? I believe in what the Perkei Avos states,
        Pirkei Avos (ch. 5) tells us to “Go through and through the Torah because everything is in it, and through it you shall see.”

          I begin this part listing some of the worst genocides in the 20th century. Most likely, you have never heard of these mass killings (murders). Why do you hear so much about the Holocaust of WW II? Perhaps, you hear about this because of who or what controls the media. The voices of these other atrocities, usually remains silent. Why? Because they have no one to speak for them as a rule. They are not considered as important as are others, or so it seems. Are we not all created in His image? Is not Salvation offered to the entire human race?

          YHWH: Why The Holocaust?, series is going to the very core and heart of cause! SIN! Also, why were some spared the Holocaust, while others were destroyed?

          In Part 1 we covered some reasons from Torah as to the why. Leviticus 26 and Deuteronomy 28 are key covenant relationship passages. It would appear from the historical perception of these passages only the blessing parts were read and believed. Nevertheless, I assure you the rest of each chapter (albeit Leviticus or Deuteronomy) are fully applicable where curses were pronounced for sinful behavior! The covenant believer, whether Jewish or Goyim (Gentile) wants Father (Abba) Yahweh to bless them only. This includes the point in time when sinful behavior is exhibited by the participants! Can Father Yahweh walk with sinful people? Will he be a partaker of their sinful behavior? Read the following passages from Torah and give me your answer!

          And Yahweh spoke to Moses, Go, get you down; for your people, that you brought up out of the land of Egypt, have corrupted themselves: they have turned aside quickly out of the way which I commanded them: they have made them a molten calf, and have worshipped it, and have sacrificed unto it, and said, These are your elohim, O Israel, which brought you up out of the land of Egypt. And Yahweh said to Moses, I have seen this people, and, behold, it is a stiff necked people: now therefore let me alone, that my wrath may wax hot against them, and that I may consume them: and I will make of you a great nation Exodus 32:7-10

          And Yahweh said to Moses, Depart, and go up from here, you and the people which you have brought up out of the land of Egypt, unto the land which I swore unto Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, saying, Unto your seed will I give it: And I will send an angel before you; and I will drive out the Canaanite, the Amorite, and the Hittite, and the Perizzite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite: Unto a land flowing with milk and honey: for I will not go up in the middle of you; for you art a stiff necked people: lest I consume you in the way. And when the people heard these evil tidings, they mourned: and no man did put on his ornaments. For Yahweh had said to Moses, Say to the children of Israel, You are a stiff necked people: I will come up into the middle of you in a moment, and consume you: therefore now put off your ornaments from you, that I may know what to do to you.           And Yahshua said to the people, You cannot serve Yahweh: for he is a holy Elohim; he is a jealous Elohim; he will not forgive your transgressions nor your sins. If you forsake Yahweh, and serve strange elohim, then he will turn and do you hurt, and consume you, after that he has done you good. And the people said to Yahshua, No; but we will serve Yahweh. And Yahshua said to the people, You are witnesses against yourselves that you have chosen Yahweh, to serve him. And they said, We are witnesses. Now therefore put away, said he, the strange elohim which are among you, and incline your heart unto Yahweh Elohim of Israel. And the people said unto Yahshua, Yahweh our Elohim will we serve, and his voice will we obey Yahshua 24:19-25

          See, I have set before you this day life and good, and death and evil; In that I command you this day to love Yahweh your Elohim, to walk in his ways, and to keep his commandments and his statutes and his judgments, that you may live and multiply: and Yahweh your Elohim shall bless you in the land where you go to possess it. But if your heart turns away, so that you will not hear, but shall be drawn away, and worship other elohim, and serve them; I declare to you this day, that you shall surely perish, and that you shall not prolong your days upon the land, where you pass over Jordan to go in to possess it. I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both you and your seed may live: That you may love Yahweh your Elohim, and that you may obey his voice, and that you may cleave unto him: for he is your life, and the length of your days: that you may dwell in the land which Yahweh swore to your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them.           This is the covenant relationship Israel entered into with Almighty Yahweh! This relationship is a life and death matter! He cautions us to choose life! If we however violate this covenant agreement, then the covenant terms are exacted as written. SIN brings forth curses and DEATH, if this sin remains un-repented of! Surely the Jewish people knew of this warning!

          Many years ago there appeared a writer in The Jewish Press that I felt could possibly be headed in the direction of Moshiach! This writer was bold, unafraid, poignant, even daring! This would eventually cost him his life! He was not afraid to place the blame squarely where it belonged concerning the Jewish people. After all he was a Rabbi, and very well educated individual. His no nonsense approach was accepted by some, but, rejected by most as being radical. What was his understanding on the Holocaust?

          IN DEFENSE OF G-D: CONFRONTING THE HOLOCAUST
          Part 1

          The Holocaust has raised its terrible head again and for the uncountable time, we deal with yet another issue that avoids the most important one.

          What is the fundamental issue of the Holocaust that we so avoid speaking about and that, when mentioned, is dismissed with a curt and hurried non-sequiteur? Why, surely it is the issue that, unless raised and discussed and answered, will guarantee yet another and another national catastrophe. Surely it is an issue that goes to the very nature of the Jewish people, its meaning and role in life, its direction and fate.

          What is the fundamental issue that must be met and grappled with? Why, surely the one that asks the question: Why? Where was G-d? How could He have permitted it?

          Our failure to grapple with this issue (instead we corrupt our souls by the terrible reply: “It is a question no one can answer”) has caused us to be silent accomplices in the worst of all Jewish sins and crimes:
          Hirof v’giduf, blasphemy against the L-rd: open insult and attack on His Name. Hillul Hashem. We sit by quietly while Jewish ignoramuses and blasphemers speak of the “death of G-d.” and His Name is dragged through the mud of a “theology” and philo- sophy of heresy. We allow Him to be blasphemed and our children turned down the path of apostasy and atheism because our only reply to the attacks of the blasphemers is: “No one can answer the question!”

          But of course there is an answer that the irreligious Jews, the secularists, the impossible Reformers and Conservatives, and the ‘‘Centrist Moderdox’’ simply can not cope with. It is an answer that can only enter the mind and soul of a Jew who believes fully and completely. And since the non-Orthodox Jew is essentially an atheist (though lacking the courage to admit it) the Jewish answer to the Holocaust is simply impossible for him to accept.

          And as for the Orthodox Jew. he is in such great measure responsible (‘or laying the groundwork for the inability of ,Jews to understand or accept the ,Jewish answer to the Holocaust. Let me explain and, you, reader, study the words carefully. They still
          pain you. but they can also save you.

          The events of the Holocaust occurred in two main phases:
          1933-1939 and 1939-1945.

          I. 1933-1939: On January 30, 1933, Adolf Hitler was named Chancellor, the most powerful position in the German government, by the aged President Hindenburg who hoped Hitler could lead the nation out of its grave political and economic crisis. Hitler was the leader of the right-wing National Socialist German Workers Party (called the Nazi Party for short); it was, by 1933, one of the strongest parties in Germany, even though * reflecting the country’s multi-party system * the Nazis had only won a plurality of 33 percent of the votes in the 1932 elections to the German parliament (Reichstag).

          Once in power, Hitler moved quickly to end German democracy. He convinced his cabinet to invoke emergency clauses of the Constitution which permitted the suspension of individual freedoms of the press, speech, and assembly. Special security forces * the Special State Police (the Gestapo), the Storm Troopers (S.A.), and the Security Police (S.S.) * murdered or arrested leaders of opposition political parties (communists, socialists, and liberals). The Enabling Act of March 23, 1933, forced through a Reichstag already purged of many political opponents, gave dictatorial powers to Hitler.
          What caused these events to happen? Why were they given power to destroy the Jewish people along with other so-called undesirables? Please stay tuned…

          I would like to start this part with one of the most sincere moving prayers in the entire Sacred Word of Father (Abba) Yahweh. This petition to Almighty Yahweh brought results to the petitioner, Daniel. Daniel was among those removed from the land of Israel into the Babylon captivity. This captivity occurred because the children of Israel sinned against Almighty Yahweh. But first, why were they taken into Babylonish captivity!
          Therefore he brought upon them the king of the Chaldeans, who slew their young men with the sword in the house of their sanctuary, and had no compassion upon young man or virgin, old man or hoary-headed: he gave them all into his hand. And all the vessels of the house of Elohim, great and small, and the treasures of the house of Yahweh, and the treasures of the king, and of his princes, all these he brought to Babylon. And they burnt the house of Elohim, and broke down the wall of Jerusalem, and burned all the palaces of it with fire, and destroyed all the goodly vessels of it. And them that had escaped from the sword carried he away to Babylon; and they were servants to him and his sons until the reign of the kingdom of Persia: to fulfill the word of Yahweh by the mouth of Jeremiah, until the land had enjoyed its sabbaths: for as long as it lay desolate it kept sabbath, to fulfill threescore and ten years. 2 Chronicles 36:17-21
          So I caused them to go forth out of the land of Egypt, and brought them into the wilderness. And I gave them my statutes, and showed them my ordinances, which if a man do, he shall live in them. Moreover also I gave them my sabbaths, to be a sign between me and them, that they might know that I am Yahweh that sanctifies them. But the house of Israel rebelled against me in the wilderness: they walked not in my statutes, and they rejected my ordinances, which if a man keep, he shall live in them; and my sabbaths they greatly profaned. Then I said I would pour out my wrath upon them in the wilderness, to consume them. But I worked for my name’s sake, that it should not be profaned in the sight of the nations, in whose sight I brought them out. Moreover also I swore unto them in the wilderness, that I would not bring them into the land which I had given them, flowing with milk and honey, which is the glory of all lands; because they rejected mine ordinances, and walked not in my statutes, and profaned my sabbaths: for their heart went after their idols. Nevertheless my eye spared them, and I destroyed them not, neither did I make a full end of them in the wilderness. Ezekiel 20:10-17

          And you will I scatter among the nations, and I will draw out the sword after you: and your land shall be a desolation, and your cities shall be a waste.

          Then shall the land enjoy its sabbaths, as long as it lies desolate, and you are in your enemies’ land; even then shall the land rest, and enjoy its sabbaths. As long as it lies desolate it shall have rest, even the rest which it had not in your sabbaths, when you dwelt upon it. Leviticus 26:33-35
          For thus says Yahweh, Behold, I will make you a terror to yourself, and to all your friends; and they shall fall by the sword of their enemies, and your eyes shall behold it; and I will give all Judah into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall carry them captive to Babylon, and shall slay them with the sword. Jeremiah 20:4

          The word that came to Jeremiah concerning all the people of Judah, in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah (the same was the first year of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon,) which Jeremiah the prophet spoke to all the people of Judah, and to all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, saying: From the thirteenth year of Josiah the son of Amon, king of Judah, even to this day, these three and twenty years, the word of Yahweh has come to me, and I have spoken to you, rising up early and speaking; but you have not hearkened. And Yahweh has sent to you all his servants the prophets, rising up early and sending them, (but you have not hearkened, nor inclined your ear to hear,) saying, Return you now every one from his evil way, and from the evil of your doings, and dwell in the land that Yahweh has given to you and to your fathers, from of old and even for evermore; and go not after other elohim to serve them, and to worship them, and provoke me not to anger with the work of your hands; and I will do you no hurt. Yet you have not listened to me, says Yahweh; that you may provoke me to anger with the work of your hands to your own hurt. Therefore thus says Yahweh of hosts: Because you have not heard my words, behold, I will send and take all the families of the north, says Yahweh, and I will send to Nebuchadrezzar the king of Babylon, my servant, and will bring them against this land, and against the inhabitants of it, and against all these nations round about; and I will utterly destroy them, and make them an astonishment, and a hissing, and perpetual desolations. Moreover I will take from them the voice of mirth and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride, the sound of the millstones, and the light of the lamp. And this whole land shall be a desolation, and an astonishment; and these nations shall serve the king of Babylon seventy years. Jeremiah 25:1-11

          Now, did you ever ask yourself the question, “What were the Jewish people doing in Russia? In Germany? In Poland? In Europe? They were scattered from the presence of Almighty Yahweh for their transgressions. The temple of Yahshua’s time (called Herod’s Temple) was destroyed just as he predicted. There are striking similarities/parallels in the temple destructions of Daniel’s time and Yahshua’s time! The Sabbatical land laws of Leviticus 25 were violated! Other Torah laws were violated! The predicted punishments of Leviticus were implemented against Israel!

          Almighty Yahweh must be taken seriously!

          How can we return to Father (Abba) Yahweh? Read, and follow the pattern Daniel gives in Daniel chapter 9
          In the first year of Darius the son of Ahasuerus, of the seed of the Medes, which was made king over the realm of the Chaldeans; In the first year of his reign I Daniel understood by books the number of the years, whereof the word of the Yahweh came to Jeremiah the prophet, that he would accomplish seventy years in the desolations of Jerusalem. And I set my face unto the Yahweh Elohim, to seek by prayer and supplications, with fasting, and sackcloth, and ashes:

          And I prayed unto Yahweh my Elohim, and made my confession, and said, O Sovereign, the great and dreadful El, keeping the covenant and mercy to them that love him, and to them that keep his commandments; We have sinned, and have committed iniquity, and have done wickedly, and have rebelled, even by departing from your precepts and from your judgments: Neither have we listened to your servants the prophets, which spoke in your name to our kings, our princes, and our fathers, and to all the people of the land. O Yahweh, righteousness belongs to you, but to us confusion of face, as at this day; to the men of Judah, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and to all Israel, that are near, and that are far off, through all the countries where you have driven them, because of their trespasses that they have trespassed against you. O Yahweh, to us belongs confusion of face, to our kings, to our princes, and to our fathers, because we have sinned against you. To the Yahweh our Elohim belong mercies and forgiveness, though we have rebelled against him; Neither have we obeyed the voice of the Yahweh our Elohim, to walk in his laws, which he set before us by his servants the prophets. Yes, all Israel have transgressed your law, even by departing, that they might not obey your voice; therefore the curse is poured upon us, and the oath that is written in the law of Moses the servant of Elohim, because we have sinned against him. And he has confirmed his words, which he spoke against us, and against our judges that judged us, by bringing upon us a great evil: for under the whole heaven has not been done as has been done upon Jerusalem. As it is written in the law of Moses, all this evil is come upon us: yet made we not our prayer before Yahweh our Elohim, that we might turn from our iniquities, and understand your truth. Therefore has Yahweh watched over the evil, and brought it upon us: for Yahweh our Elohim is righteous in all his works which he does: for we obeyed not his voice. And now, O Yahweh our Elohim, that have brought your people forth out of the land of Egypt with a mighty hand, and have gotten yourself renown, as at this day; we have sinned, we have done wickedly.
          O Yahweh, according to all your righteousness, I beseech you, let your anger and your fury be turned away from your city Jerusalem, your holy mountain: because for our sins, and for the iniquities of our fathers, Jerusalem and your people are become a reproach to all that are about us. Now therefore, O our Elohim, hear the prayer of your servant, and his supplications, and cause your face to shine upon your sanctuary that is desolate, for Yahweh’s sake. O my Elohim, incline your ear, and hear; open your eyes, and behold our desolations, and the city which is called by thy name: for we do not present our supplications before you for our righteousnesses, but for your great mercies. O Yahweh, hear; O Yahweh, forgive; O Yahweh, listen and do; defer not, for your own sake, O my Elohim: for your city and your people are called by your name.
          And while I was speaking, and praying, and confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel, and presenting my supplication before the Yahweh my Elohim for the holy mountain of my Elohim; Yes, while I was speaking in prayer, even the man Gabriel, whom I had seen in the vision at the beginning, being caused to fly swiftly, touched me about the time of the evening oblation. And he informed me, and talked with me, and said, O Daniel, I am now come forth to give you skill and understanding. At the beginning of your supplications the commandment came forth, and I am come to show you; for you art greatly beloved: therefore understand the matter, and consider the vision. Daniel 9:1-23
          Israel/Judah must come to repentance! By praying to Father Yahweh as did Daniel the Prophet, accepting the punishment for the sins committed, they can be accepted once again. As Daniel was greatly beloved so also are the people of Yahweh wherever they are scattered today.

          IN DEFENSE OF G-D: CONFRONTING THE HOLOCAUST
          Part II

          The reason for the Holocaust, the Jewish reason and answer, is the one that rises out of the fundamental of fundamentals of Torah. What happens to the Jewish people is dependent on their actions and the way they live their lives. The Jewish people are a Chosen people, chosen for a mission it cannot avoid or escape. At Sinai, the covenant bound us to a life of truth or falsehood, of life or death. “See, I have set before thee this day, life and good, and death and evil… And if thine heart turneth away and thou wilt not hear… I tell you this day that you will surely perish… I call heaven and earth to record this day against you that I have set before you life and death, the blessing and the curse; therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may liver’ (Deuteronomy 30)

          The clear, direct mission and warning to the Jewish people. The open message of reward and punishment. If the Jew will obey the Torah in all its ways, he will have life, glorious and majestic. If not, he will have death, terrible and cursed. Why the surprise? Whence the absurd reply: The Holocaust has no answer…? The Holocaust, just as the terrible agonies and catastrophes of ancient times — the slaughtering of men, women and children during the destruction of the First and Second Temples; the horrors of the Crusades and Inquisitions and the Chmelnitzki Massacres in 1648-49; the red, bloody red river of Jewish history — has an answer. One that was given as a warning to all the Jewish people while yet in the desert. One that we read twice yearly in the sections of the Torah known as the tochacha (the admonition). “And if thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of the L-rd, thy G-d, to observe to do all His commandments and His statute which I command thee this day, then all these curses shall come upon thee and overtake thee” (Deuteronomy 28).

          Whence the surprise? What is the origin of this sudden blindness and dumbness and failure to understand? From where cometh this sudden stupor: “It is a question no or can answer…?“

          Of course we can answer it; but the irreligious Jew, the one who does not accept the Divinity of Torah, refuses to accept an answer which lays the blame upon him, upon the Jew who — knowing of the warning — ignored it and disdained it. No, since it is impossible to accept the relationship between Jewish suffering and failure to obey the Law, one must blame G-d. One must create the image of a Jewish people in Europe which was saintly and pious and observant, and thus one must ask how the modern G-d, who would never take serious our desecration of mitzvot, could do such a thing. And, of course, using that as a premise, “there is no G-d. ..“

          As some modern day nation of Jobs we lay the blame for our sins upon the Almighty, even as the L-rd answered him, saying (Job 40:8) “Wilt thou even make void My justice; wilt thou condemn Me that thou mayest be justificd?” And in the words of the wisest of men, King Solomon: “The foolishness of man perverts his way and his heart rages against the L-rd” (Mishlei 19).

          And the Orthodox Jew joins in. He creates picture of European Jewry that must lead to agonized and perplexed questioning of G-d. He creates a picture of saintly men that must lead to a vision of a G-d that is a cruel G-d who punishes a people who, for the most part, were religious and observant and if so, how could He do such a thing unless He does not exist or “there is no answer…”

          The picture that is handed down to American Orthodox youth, of the yeshivas of an East European Jewry that was pious and traditional and observant is one that must be destroyed because it is false. It is an image that the yeshiva world gave us in its desire to negate the present material western one. But by their falsely idealizing Man, they have laid the groundwork for the desecration of G-d. By painting the East European Jew as a saint, they designed a G-d of cruelty and irrationality. And that most terrible of sins must be ended.

          We must save G-d and sanctify His Name by telling the truth about European Jewry in the years preceding the Holocaust. Then and only then will we be able to tell our children and all Jews the truth of the Holocaust. The false idealizing of the Jewry of Eastern Europe is worse than foolishness. In the words of Kohelet (7:10) “Say not: ‘How was it that the former days were better than these?’ For it is not out of wisdom that thou inquirest concerning this.” Then and only then can we save G-d from blasphemy and ourselves from future horrors. Then and only then can we
          Then and only then can we honestly and truly say: “All the paths of the L-rd are mercy and truth unto such as keep His covenant and His testimonies” (Psalms 25).

          Of course we know the real truth of the situation and from that comes the answer, if we wish to be honest. Then and only then can we reply both to the wicked and the honestly confused —honestly. Form the words of Psalms (25):
          “The secret of the L-rd is with them that fear Him, and His covenant to make them know it.” And (Mishlei 28): “Men of evil will not understand justice but those who seek the L-rd will understand everything.”

          Yes, as the 19th century passed into its third quarter, the Jew of Russia and Poland was, indeed, observant. But what else could he be? The overwhelming numbers of Jews lived in a Pale of Settlement that restricted them to the shtetl, the village, where they were isolated from the gentile world, barred from participating in anything else except the society of the shtetl. And that society was religious in toto. What Jew, even if he wanted to, was prepared to rebel against the society that laid down the religious rules of life? Who was prepared to accept the ostracism that would be his inevitable punishment if he dared to throw off the halacha that was more than religion in the shtetl, but the entire social fabric of the life of the Jew? And so, of course the Jew was “religious.” He had no other choice.

          But once that choice arrived, look at what happened! And in such a short span of time! The Enlightenment that began to arrive in Eastern Europe in the last third of the 19th century swept away, in a relatively few years, a society and structure that had been built up for centuries. The great Torah centers spawned, overnight, a rebellion and revolution that uncovered the reality of Jewish “religiosity.”

          The same Vilna that had become a byword for piety and Torah learning, the home of the Gaon, the “Jerusalem of Lithuania.” now gave birth to the Jewish labor movement, the Bund, a bitterly anti-religious and anti-nationalist group that saw Jews, who just yesterday were “religious,” flocking to its ranks to spout atheistic socialism. The Poland and Russia and Lithuania and Galicia, the areas of the Vaad Arba Haaratzot, the places that had given us the Rama and the Shach and Chassidism and the great yeshivas, overnight gave birth to Jewish communism and socialism and secular Zionism and assimilation. The door was barely opened to enlightenment and emancipation and the Jew rushed to be a universalist and to throw away his Judaism.

            But if you turn away, and forsake my statutes and my commandments which I have set before you, and shall go and serve other elohim, and worship them; then will I pluck them up by the roots out of my land which I have given them; and this house, which I have hallowed for my name, will I cast out of my sight, and I will make it a proverb and a byword among all peoples. And this house, which is so high, every one that pass by it shall be astonished, and shall say, Why has Yahweh done this to this land, and to this house? And they shall answer, Because they forsook Yahweh, the Elohim of their fathers, who brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, and laid hold on other elohim, and worshipped them, and served them: therefore has he brought all this evil upon them. 2 Chronicles 7:19-ff
            And Yahweh will scatter you among the peoples, and you shall be left few in number among the nations, where Yahweh shall lead you away. And there you shall serve elohim, the work of men’s hands, wood and stone, which neither see, nor hear, nor eat, nor smell. But from there you shall seek Yahweh your Elohim, and you shall find him, when you search after him with all your heart and with all your soul. When you are in tribulation, and all these things are come upon you, in the latter days you shall return to Yahweh your Elohim, and listen to his voice: for Yahweh your Elohim is a merciful Elohim; he will not fail you, neither destroy you, nor forget the covenant of your fathers which he swore unto them. Deuteronomy 4:27-31
            The anger of Yahweh shall not return, until he have executed, and till he have performed the intents of his heart: in the latter days you shall understand it perfectly. Jeremiah 23:20

            For SIN– did Yahweh the Elohim of the Heavens, drive away the tribes of Israel from His presence. But, also in His loving kindness will he bring them back again! In the latter days will the dispersed realize their predicament.

            The holocaust opinions are wide and varied. The majority place the blame on their being Jewish. Because we are Jews and the “chosen people” this is our lot. Rare is the dispersed individual/individuals that recognizes the reason for their calamity. Sin brings forth the division between men and Father Yahweh.

            Behold, Yahweh’s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear: but your iniquities have separated between you and your Elohim, and your sins have hid his face from you, so that he will not hear. For your hands are defiled with blood, and your fingers with iniquity; your lips have spoken lies, your tongue mutters wickedness. None calls for justice, and none pleads in truth: they trust in vanity, and speak lies; they conceive mischief, and bring forth iniquity. Isaiah 59:1-4

            What were the Jewish people doing in Germany? In Russia? In Poland? In Europe? Why were they not in the land of Israel? Why? Because they were driven away and the temple was destroyed. Why was the temple destroyed? Because of SIN! And, I am not the only one who believes this! Although we are in the minority that hold the opinion (based on Torah) sin caused the latest Diaspora. The last one began in 69- 70 CE, when Roman soldiers destroyed Jerusalem and also the temple. This fulfilled the Olivet prophecy of Matthew 24 concerning the coming events after His death. Yes, the Jewish people rejected the Savior of men.

            “He came to his own, and they that were his own received him not.” John 1:11

            “But first must he suffer many things, and be rejected of this generation.” Luke 17:25

            There are several men of renown in Torah knowledge, that recognized the reason Israel and in particular the Jewish people were participants in the Holocaust. One such was Rabbi Meir Kahane.z”tl I have quoted him in prior parts during this series. I have one more quote from a three part series he wrote that appeared in the Jewish Press.

            Confronting The Holocaust
            (Last of Three Parts)

            This was “religion.” This was a “pious, saintly, committed Jewish community” that was cruel and unjustly allowed to be slaughtered by G-d. Hardly. The Jews who, arriving in America from centuries of ”religion” and who threw away their tefilhn and their Shabbat at the first opportunity, symbolized so many other Jews who remained behind. It was not “religion” that had marked them but a social system of ritual that was observed by most only because the outside gentile world refused to allow them entry into it, and there to throw off the yoke of heaven. The moment the barriers dropped, the Jew rebelled. This was the reality, and the fault, dear Jew, lies not in our G-d but in ourselves.
            And there was, of course, more. There was the terrible class struggle within East European Jewry.
            There was the terrible oppression of Jewish workers and proletariat by the wealthy Jews, the parnessim, the communal leaders. Not for nothing did the Bund and communism succeed so easily in attracting poor Jewish workers to their ranks. The low wages and horrible working conditions in the factories owned by Jews are epitomized in the classic story told in the name of the saintly Rabbi Levi Yitzhak of Berdichev who once visited a matzah bakery on the eve of Passover. There, he saw the women and little children working in terrible conditions from dawn to dusk. “Dear G—d,” he said, lifting his eyes unto heaven. “What liars are the gentiles! They accuse us of using gentile blood in our matzah. It is not true. We use Jewish blood…”
            And too few know of the black chapter of the chatum, the kidnapped Jewish children of Czarist Russia. When the Czar decreed that Jewish children be drafted as “Cantonists” in the army for 25 years, the rabbis, declared that the quota imposed on each community be filled by casting lots to see which child would be drafted. Tragically, the wealthy communal leaders would hire gentiles to kidnap the poor Jewish children, lock them in the synagogue and keep them to be turned over to the Czarists,
            The lack of Ahrn’at Yisrael, love of Jews, cried out to the Heavens! Was this “religion?” Was this a saintly Jewish community that was cruelly and unjustly slaughtered by G-d? Hardly. The fault lies not in our G-d, but in ourselves.

            And this lack of unity and love was epitomized, too, in the incredible numbers of machlokes, of bitter arguments and splits within the Jewish community, a sinat chinam, a needless hatred that split communities and families into warring camps of enemies. What we have seen in the disgusting attacks of hatred between Satmer and Belz or Satmer and Lubavitch is only a small portion of the bitter hatred between misnagdim and chassidim and between chassidic groups themselves, in Europe. The bitter divisions between Jews was told to me as a child by my father, of blessed memory, who described to me the bitter split between the chassidim of Sanz and Rizhin, a hatred that reached its climax with chassidim going to the Eastern Wall to put the Sanzer Rebbe, the great Divrei Chayim, into herem? And at a Shabbat seuda schlishit, a chassid attempted to stab the Divrei Chayim … Families were broken up because of disputes. Needless hatred ran through East European Jewry as a thread, and the classic example of the Mun-Catcher Rebbe declaring, concerning the Pressburger Yeshiva founded by the Chasam Sofer; “V’hivdilanu, min ha’toim — and He has separated us from those who err,” even as the Pressburger Yeshiva refused entry to any bachur who was a member of the Mizrachi…

            And this terrible, terrible hatred was long ago set up by the rabbis as an unpardonable sin with a terrible, and terribly clear and precise warning:
            “How severe is machloket, division and split! The Court of heaven does not punish until one is over the age of 20 and the court on earth from the age of 13, but in the dispute of Korach, children of one day were burned and swallowed up by the earth…” (Tanchuma, Korach 3). And the rabbis in Shabbat (33b): “When there are righteous in the generation, the righteous are caught for the sins of the generation. When there are no righteous, then little children are caught for the sins of the generation.” Let each of us think long and carefully about this. And let us search our souls.

            And let us remember, on top of all the sins and the reality of Jewish crimes, the refusal to grasp the Land of Israel to our bosom. “And they despised the desirable land,” is the Biblical condemnation of the generation of the desert and its great scholars and leaders who preferred to return to Egypt rather than go to the land of Israel. Their actions led to the night of “weeping for generations,” TishaB’Av.

            What shall we say about the rejection of Eretz Yisrael in the decades preceding the Holocaust by so many great religious leaders in Europe? That, too, must be added to the reality of East European Jewry.

            It is time to put an end to the nonsense of “we cannot know the reasons.” That answer guarantees the turning away of Jewish youth. It is time to bury the myth of an East European Jewry that was pious and saintly. That insures the creation of a Jewish G-d who is senselessly cruel. It is time to put an end to the indictment of G-d, to hiruf n’giduf blasphemy against the L-rd. A Jewish people that clings to the law, truly and completely, will be saved from Holocausts. And one which rejects it and which turns it into a ritualistic sociological fraud will suffer for it. And until we learn this, that which was will, G-d forbid, be again. But do not blame G-d. He remains the One whose duty compels us “to declare that the L-rd is just, he is my rock and there is no unrighteousness in Him” (Psalms 92).

            And (Psalms 25): “All the paths of the L-rd are mercy and truth unto such as keep His covenant and His testimonies.” Let us see to it that we really do. That we go beyond mere ritual, and cleave to His concepts and ideas and thoughts though they go against our gentile-ized teachings of the exile. The yoke of heaven, totally; love of fellow Jews who are deserving of that love; and the return home to the Land of Israel. That, and only that, will guarantee that never again will there occur what occurred in Europe and never again will we have to stand and stammer to our children the foolish and terrible reply: There is no answer. There is an answer to all those who are honest and fear G-d. “All the paths of the L-rd are mercy and truth unto those who keep His covenant and testimonies.”

            He was unique in his time. Perhaps another will arise in Israel with his same perspective! They killed his son Binyamim because he was following in his father’s footsteps. This only shows the fear of truth in many.

            Another Rabbi of renown is Rabbi Eliezer Schach. The following are a few unpopular quotes he made while he was still among the living z”tl.
            In 1990, the Lithuanian-born, then 97-year-old founder of Shas, Rabbi
            Eliezer Schach, asked his students in the rabbinical college of Ponivezh in
            Bnei Brak, “Does anyone here think that before the Holocaust, which exacted so terrible a price and left no family untouched, all the Jews of Europe were righteous,
            G-d-fearing folk? There was a drift away from our faith and way of life.
            What happened was divine retribution for the accumulated weight of years of
            drawing away from Judaism.”

            Then, in 1992, after Shas joined Yitzhak Rabin’s coalition government, one
            of its MKs strongly objected to the appointment of Shulamit Aloni, a member
            of Meretz, a secular left-wing party, as minister of education. Ms. Aloni’s
            appointment, said Rabbi Schach, would result in more than a million Israeli
            children being forced into apostasy, and that was worse than what happened
            to Jewish children during the Holocaust. In defence of Rabbi Schach, an
            ultra-Orthodox MK argued that the rabbi’s warnings of divine retribution
            for backsliding was no different from those of Biblical prophets. I fear he
            was right. Reminding my stiff-necked people of G-d’s terrible vengeance for
            transgressions has many Biblical and rabbinical precedents. Take, for
            example, the case of the prophet Jeremiah. He proclaimed Nebuchadnezzar to
            be G-d’s chosen scourge for punishing Judah, and put out the welcome mat
            for the coming destruction of Jerusalem by Babylon: “And afterward, saith
            the L-rd, I will deliver Zedekiah king of Judah, and his servants, and the
            people, and such as are left in this city from the pestilence, from the
            sword, and from the famine, into the hands of Nebuchadnezzar king of
            Babylon, and into the hand of their enemies, and into the hand of those
            that seek their life; and he shall smite them with the edge of the sword;
            he shall not spare them, neither have pity, nor have compassion.”
            These quotes made a lot of people angry! Was this Rabbi correct in his assessment? Yes, I believe he was and still is even after his death, z”tl. I would like you to read a few more quotes of this accurate outspoken Rabbi. There should be more who have the same courage he showed during his lifetime.

            The Judgment of Sin and its Consequences:

            G-d has a controversy with us concerning our alienation from Him. We have been unwilling to face the meaning of our own history, and to consider the horror that was the result of that alienation. The unhappy fact is that the interpreting of catastrophe as the consequence of (and judgment for) sin is totally incompatible with contemporary Jewish self-assessment. It is outside our consciousness and consideration. We have a sense rather of our own innate self-righteousness and goodness.

            But G-d’s judgment of sin is independent of what we, in fact, do. Rather, it is based on what we, in fact, are. It is totally a d-vine view, and it is by this view that men shall be required of—and eternally judged. However offensive and contrary that view is to our popular and human view of character, guilt, and judgment, it is yet G-d’s view, and it is that view which will prevail and by which we will be judged. The way that we perceive and justify ourselves is not going to save us from the judgment that must come exclusively on His terms.

            For G-d to allow sin to go unrecognized, and not respond to it, renders Him effectually a “non-g-d”—certainly not a G-d who is holy and righteous. It is not that He is an egotist requiring such recognition, but what would be the consequence for mankind if G-d be not G-d? What has it meant historically that He has been exempted from the affairs of men as if He were nonexistent? To misinterpret His wrath as expressed in His judgment is perhaps the ultimate sin of man. If we should know G-d, then we have got to know Him in His judgments. If we want to see His judgments, then look at the Holocaust of the Jew and the Holocaust of our Messiah. That is G-d judging, and if we do not see G-d there, then we do not see. If we have complaint about seeing G-d there, then our complaint itself is testimony that what He says of our condition is true.

            If we have become “revisionists” in our mentality as Jews, and refuse to consider the historicity of the cr-cifixion of J–us of Nazareth and its meaning; if we turn away from it and refuse to look into the fire of that “burning bush,” and dismiss it as an irrelevancy, then we also miss the enormous grace that was extended in that sacrifice and the blood that would have washed our sin away and restored us to the Father.

            “…for it is the blood that makes atonement for the soul” (Leviticus 17:11f NKJV).

            “By that will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of J–us Ch–st once for all” (Hebrews 10:10 NKJV).

            We have, therefore, condemned ourselves to something less, and other, than G-d Himself!

            Catastrophe, as judgment fulfilled, is G-d’s penultimate provision to bring an awareness unto repentance to those who would otherwise have no consciousness of that need. The failure to interpret catastrophe in that way, and the failure to see the hand of G-d in our judgments, must necessarily result in our seeking to place the blame on men. We will find the fault as being with the Germans and Hitler. This is not to say that they were blameless, but we are stopping short of seeing the greater truth. In the last analysis, those who blame men end up blaming G-d. If we will not see ourselves as the factor for the judgments that have come, then we will inevitably come to the place where G-d Himself becomes ultimately the evil one. G-d is judged and found wanting. If man will not accept himself as being the root cause of his own judgments, ironically, G-d is the one who ends up being condemned for inherent defect in His creation seeing that He was apparently ‘unable’ to intervene in preserving Jewry from calamity. We have a much greater facility to find fault with G-d than with ourselves. That in itself sums up how lamentable our condition is.

            Our warped “messianisms” have made us singularly conspicuous in promoting inter-nationalistic ideologies that have threatened the ethnic and religious, national loyalties of millions. Those failed ideologies have erupted, and will likely erupt again, into a fury of retaliatory anti-Semitic violence. In fostering alternative secular and ideological salvational schemes for mankind that cannot succeed, we prepare our own judgment. Our failed panaceas bring shocking implications for us, but it is a shock that we perhaps desperately need. It is for the want of being shocked into a place of a true knowledge of G-d that such calamities fall. How important, then, to rightly interpret our tragic past. We would be fools not to receive the benefit of that past and to anticipate what is to come again if its root causes not be recognized and dealt with repentantly.

            If our judgments are in exact proportion to our sins and the magnitude of our judgments indicate the magnitude of our sin, then we need to be awakened to something of which we are not personally and subjectively aware. It is for the lack of this consciousness that G-d gives us calamity in order to evoke the questions that we ourselves would never have thought to ask. On the contrary, so smugly satisfied are we with our condition that we think we represent the standard to which the whole world would do well to aspire. We would do better to understand our condition, not in the light of our own subjective fancy, but in the light of the scriptural judgments that we are catastrophically required to experience. It is not sufficient merely to understand that we are “judged for our sins” but to understand the gravity of that for which we are being judged as revealed in the magnitude of its suffering.

            Man’s tendency is to think that if G-d delays and withholds His judgments, that the calamity, when it comes, is no longer related to the sin. We are so removed from the origins of the sin two thousand years later that it does not occur to us that the magnitude of our suffering is related to the magnitude of that earlier, but still current, transgression. If He withholds, it is because He is “not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance” (2 Peter 3:9 NKJV). He stretches Himself and extends His mercy, and He sends His messengers, which messengers we have historically rejected. In our resiliency, we somehow find a way to recover from our calamities “smelling like a rose,” finding a way to remove the onus of its true meaning as judgment, not seeing it in terms of our national sin.

            This inability, however, to recognize the past interventions of G-d in bringing calamities as His judgment, equally nullifies all hope in believing for His future intervention in mercy. Both are predicated in His Word. If we will not have believed it for the one, how shall we believe it for the other? The fact that G-d should intervene at all in the affairs of men is itself offensive to our liberal minds, determined even now (despite the tragic past) to obtain our own deliverance through our own efforts. This is clear in present Israel’s deportment as a State in which there is an entire omission of reference to G-d in all policy decisions pertinent to its very survival. Except in superficial deference to orthodoxy for purposes of political expediency, there is no mention of G-d at all. This attitude of being cast entirely upon man and his resources is expressed, as we have said again and again also in Judaism’s concern for “education” through memorial museums. By means of those museums, future calamity is hopefully negated lest we again become “victim” of the ignorant prejudices of men.

            We need to see the Holocaust in a reviewed historical context of false hope that even to the last moments was still alive in our Jewish expectation. It was still alive even as we were loaded into the cattle cars en route to Auschwitz. We did not take seriously the warning that G-d gave us through our own prophets, that those who were certain to perish in the prophesied calamity were those who boasted, “Never shall the evil overtake us or come near us” (Amos 9:10). They who are the naive and who still have a confidence in man and human society refuse to recognize that the coming threats are something from G-d’s own hand. They are those who need most to take regard. This fact of life will yet again be operative in a soon-coming, last and final judgment, graphically described in chapters 30 and 31 of the prophet Jeremiah. G-d calls it, “The Time of Jacob’s Trouble.”

            If these prophetic warnings be true, this future persecution is likely to thrust world Jewry on the road to its own cr-cifixion. Evidently, we will learn, out of our own experience, the rejection and forsakenness of our own Messiah in His sufferings. Because we have refused the intended revelation of G-d in the crucified Messiah, whom we have scorned and not understood, opportunity will be given us in that final judgment to glimpse Him anew in our own comparable sufferings—this time experienced by the entire nation in a latter days’ extremity. By such a means, opportunity will be given us to come into the redemptive meaning of our own suffering, fitting us as a compassionate “Suffering Servant” to the nations in the fulfillment of our own national destiny.

            Our rabbis either largely ignored Isaiah chapter 53 or interpreted it as not being the description of a Cr-cified Messiah, but rather the statement of our nation—righteously suffering for the sins of other nations. Though that text speaks for itself in identifying the vicarious Sufferer, there will nevertheless be a sufficient resonance in it to describe our own future experience of being “rejected, despised and marred” more than any nation. We will again be compelled to consider those sufferings that our Messiah chose by obedience, but which we, by circumstance and involuntarily, will be required to experience in measure. It will be a demonstration by which the Gentile nations will also be tested. They will see the truth of the cr-cifixion of a Suffering Servant re-enacted in Israel herself. For that reason, G-d will hold the Gentile nations in judgment should they fail to recognize what is being demonstrated before them in the final paroxysms of our own suffering nation. In the Ch–ch’s failure to alleviate those sufferings by sacrificially coming to the aid of “the least of these my brethren” with whom G-d is identified, will its own judgment, we believe, be determined. (See Matthew 25:31-46.)

            One of the most painful expressions and consequences of judgment, which gives us every reason to avoid it by obedience to the truth, is that which falls upon the innocent and the children. The sins of the fathers falling on the children ought to be one of the greatest reasons why the fathers should avoid sin, knowing that the judgment, of necessity, will fall as much upon their children as upon themselves. If we will not walk with G-d for our own sake, then let us walk with G-d for their sake!

            We need to understand that if men will not repent when G-d gives opportunity through calamity, then we open ourselves for yet a greater suffering. G-d’s judgments are not punitive so much as they are redemptive. The judgments fall when men fail to heed the voice of His prophets, and fail to acknowledge that their message is G-d’s own interpretation and explanation of a coming calamity. Then, nothing is left to instruct us but the calamity itself. If we will still not be instructed by calamity, and still will not see G-d’s hand in our suffering, then what can we expect but a final and irremediable judgment—a fire that will not be extinguished and that is eternal? If we have not come into His righteousness in this life, then how shall we stand in His presence thereafter? G-d knows the unspeakable anguish of an eternal separation from Himself. There is, therefore, an urgent finality about eternity and judgment that needs to be registered upon our souls.

          • MUHAMMAD’S MASSACRES & SEX SLAVES

            Muhammad, the prophet of Islam and the apostle of Allah, had ordered at least 60 raids and wars often involving massacres and personally participated in 27 of them. The exemplary example and the perfection of humanity and the prototype of the most wonderful human conduct that he was—Muhammad massacred, beheaded, tortured, terrorized, raped, and looted in the name of God. Described below are three of his massacres and a partial listing of his sex-slaves from the Muslim holy books and Islamic writings.
            • In the Massacre of Banu Quraiza, Muhammad order the beheading of 600 to 900 adult men (determined by pubic-hair growth) and he himself chopped off a few heads. He enslaved all the women and children of the Jewish tribe. The women were kept as sex-slaves with Muhammad himself taking a beautiful Jewish woman as his own sex-slave and sold the rest of the captives into slavery. He also looted the property of the murdered Jews and took possession of all their wealth and properties. Allah, like a godfather and mafia chieftain of the Muhammad’s criminal gang, rejoiced this barbarous and heinous acts of slaughtering the Jews and enslavement of their women and children by creating 5 teachings in the Koran as the Eternal Laws of God.
            • At the Massacre of Khaybar, Muhammad brutally tortured a Jewish chieftain for extracting information about where he had hidden his treasures. When the treasure was uncovered, the chieftain was beheaded. This chieftain was the husband of the most beautiful Jewish woman of Khaybar, the 17-year-old Safiyaah. Safiyaah’s family members had been annihilated by Muhammad at the Banu Qurayza massacre. Now having beheaded her husband, the Prophet took Safiyah as his sex-slave and copulated on the same night.
            • In the massacre of the Jewish Settlement of Bani Mustaliq, Muhammad captured their women and took twenty-year-old Jewish girl, Juwayriya as his sex-slave.

            The Massacre of Banu Quraiza

            Angel Gabriel Appears To Muhammad And Orders Him To Attack The Rich Jewish Settlement Of Banu Quraiza

            Sahi Bukhari :Volume 5, Book 59, Number 443:
            Narrated ‘Aisha:
            When the Prophet returned from the battle of Al-Khandaq (i.e. Trench) and laid down his arms and took a bath, Gabriel came and said (to the Prophet), “you have laid down your arms? By Allah, we angels have not laid them down yet. So set out for them.” The Prophet said, “Where to go?” Gabriel said, “Towards this side,” pointing towards Banu Quraiza. So the Prophet went out towards them. (Book 019, Number 4368)
            Sahi Bukhari Volume 5, Book 59, Number 444:
            Narrated Anas:
            “As if I am just now looking at the dust rising in the street of Banu Ghanm (in Medina) because of the marching of Gabriel’s regiment when Allah’s Apostle set out to Banu Quraiza (to attack them).”
            These traditions about Gabriel’s leadership are designed to give divine support for the atrocity that Muhammad was about to be unleashed upon Banu Qurayza. Today, we may see this as fanciful, but to millions of Muslims this is real and divine.

            Muhammad Besieges Banu Quraiza For 25 Days. After The Jews Unconditionally Surrender All Men Are Beheaded, Women and Young Girls Raped and Sold into Slavery. Their Property was Looted.
            Sahi Bukhari Volume 5, Book 59, Number 448
            So Allah’s Apostle went to them (i.e. Banu Quraiza) (i.e. besieged them). They then surrendered to the Prophet’s judgment (unconditionally after 25 days of fierce resistance) but he directed them to Sad (ally) to give his verdict concerning them. Sad said, “I give my judgment that their warriors should be killed, their women and children should be taken as captives, and their properties distributed.”
            The Prophet said, “You have judged according to the King’s (Allah’s) judgment.” (Hadith No. 447, Vol. 5)
            The sentence was Death by decapitation for around 300—600 men and pubescent boys, and enslavement for the women and children. Ibn Ishaq says that the number may have been as high as 800—900 (p. 464).
            The text of Sirat [Ibn Ishaq, page 464]:

            Then they surrendered, and the apostle confined them in Medina in the quarter of d. al-Harith, a woman of B. al-Najjar. Then the apostle went out to the market of Medina (which is still its market today) and dug trenches in it. Then he sent for them and struck off their heads in those trenches as they were brought out to him in batches. Among them was the enemy of Allah Huyayy b. Akhtab and Ka`b b. Asad their chief. There were 600 or 700 in all, though some put the figure as high as 800 or 900. As they were being taken out in batches to the apostle they asked Ka`b what he thought would be done with them. He replied, ‘Will you never understand? Don’t you see that the summoner never stops and those who are taken away do not return? By Allah it is death!’ This went on until the apostle made an end of them.
            Huyayy was brought out wearing a flowered robe in which he had made holes about the size of the finger-tips in every part so that it should not be taken from him as spoil, with his hands bound to his neck by a rope. When he saw the apostle he said, ‘By God, I do not blame myself for opposing you, but he who forsakes God will be forsaken.’ Then he went to the men and said, ‘God’s command is right. A book and a decree, and massacre have been written against the Sons of Israel.’ Then he sat down and his head was struck off.

            Muhammad ordered and participated in the digging of the trench into which the massacred Jews were to be thrown. He STRUCK OFF the heads of at least two of those captives.

            How Did The SS Jihadist Executioners Decide on Which Jewish Boys To Slaughter Or Leave Alive To Be Sold Into Slavery

            To separate the young Jewish men from the minors, Muhammad ordered that their pants be pulled down and the youngsters genital area examined SS style for pubic hairs and if they had grown any pubic hair, it was enough to behead them.

            Book 38, Number 4390:
            Narrated Atiyyah al-Qurazi:
            I was among the captives of Banu Qurayzah. They (the Companions) examined us, and those who had begun to grow hair (pubes) were killed, and those who had not were not killed. I was among those who had not grown hair.

            Aisha’s Description of the Only Woman Murdered: She was Delirious Because Her Husband Had Just Been Beheaded. She was taken by the SS Jihadist and Beheaded.
            Book 14, Number 2665:
            Narrated Aisha, Ummul Mu’minin:
            No woman of Banu Qurayzah was killed except one. She was with me, talking and laughing on her back and belly (extremely), while the Apostle of Allah (peace_be_upon_him) was killing her people with the swords. Suddenly a man called her name: Where is so-and-so? I asked: What is the matter with you? She said: I did a new act. The man took her and beheaded her. I will not forget that she was laughing extremely although she knew that she would be killed.

            Muhammad Took One Of The Jewish Women As His Sex-slave
            The apostle had chosen one of their women for himself, Rayhana bint Amr . . . one of the women of . . . Qurayza, and she remained with him until she died, in his power. The apostle had proposed to marry and put a veil on her, but she said: “Nay, leave me in your power, for that will be easier for me and for you.” So he left her. She had shown repugnance towards Islam when she was captured and clung to Judaism. (Ibn Ishaq p. 466)

            The Looted Property And The Jewish Women And Children Were Divided Among the Muslims
            More specifically, Ibn Ishaq says the spoils were divided among the Muslims thus:
            Then the apostle divided the property, wives, and children . . . among the Muslims, and he made known on that day the shares of horse and men, and took out the fifth. A horseman got three shares, two for the horse and one for the rider. A man without a horse got one share (p. 466). Then the apostle sent Sa’d b. Zayd al-Ansari brother of b. ‘Abdu’l-Ashhal with some of the captive women of B. Qurayza to Najd and he sold them for horses and weapons. [page 466]

            Allah Allows Muhammad and His Jihadists To Have Sex With Their Sex-slaves
            Allah also allows jihadists to have sex with female slaves. Sources: Ibn Ishaq, pp. 464-66; Tabari, vol. 8, pp. 27-41.

            Muhammad Enriches Himself

            Muhammad had captured huge spoils from his “final solution” of Jews of Banu Qurayza. Muhammad gets one-fifth of the Jewish property (movable, immovable and human), and his jihadist followers get the rest. The tribe of Banu Qurayza likely consisted of about 500 families, who were wealthiest in Medina. Therefore, Muhammad enriched himself with the wealth of about 100 rich families as well as their women and children from this single act of successful Jihad.
            Here is how Allah sanctions the enrichment of Muhammad and his Jihadist followers from his expedition:
            Quran-8:41— “And know that out of all the booty that ye may acquire (in war), a fifth share is assigned to Allah,- and to the Messenger, and to near relatives, orphans, the needy, and the wayfarer,- if ye do believe in Allah and in the revelation We sent down to Our servant on the Day of Testing,- the Day of the meeting of the two forces. For Allah hath power over all things.

            Why Does Muhammad Not Show Mercy?

            It is Allah who guides Muhammad into committing these heinous, barbaric cruelty against the people of Arabia. Below are a list of Allah’s commands to Muhammad to carry out those acts of carnage:
            Allah celebrates this slaughter and enslavement of the Jews in the Koran:
            Quran-33:25- “Allah turned back the unbelievers [Meccans and their allies] in a state of rage, having not won any good, and Allah spared the believers battle. Allah is, indeed, Strong and Mighty.”
            Quran-33:26- “And He brought those of the People of the Book [Jewish people of Banu Qurayza] who supported them from their fortresses and cast terror into their hearts, some of them you slew (beheaded) and some you took prisoners (captive)”
            Quran-33:27- “And He made you heirs of their lands, their houses, and their goods, and of a land which ye had not frequented (before). And Allah has power over all things.” [Merciful Allah asked Prophet Muhammad to confiscate entire properties of surrendered Jews]
            Quran-8:67—“It is not fitting for an Apostle that he should have prisoners of war until He thoroughly subdued the land….” (Allah insisting Prophet to kill all the prisoners, and should not keep any surrendered prisoners alive until He (Prophet) occupied entire Arabia.”

            Quran-8:17—It is not ye who Slew them; it is God; when thou threwest a handful of dust, it was not Thy act, but God’s…..” (Allah said, the killing of surrendered soldiers were done by the wish of Allah)
            These above Quranic verses revealed some unpleasant truths:

            The verses: 33:25-27 were revealed to describe Banu Qurayza incident and clearly talking about the unbelievers (Quresh pagans, and their allies Jews of Banu Quraiza). Specifically, verse-33:27 talks of ow by the judgement of Sa’d ibn Muaz all the men were slaughtered and women and children were captivated. And Jewish land and property were taken as Booty….Sa’d delivered his justice according to Bible; hence Muhammad said—“your judgement was like God.”

            Allah permitted the enslavement and beheading of Jews, so any Muslim familiar with the background of this verse knows that beheading as such has been assimilated into the Quran.
            What is so troubling about the verse 33:26 is that Allah (Himself) celebrates the “terror” that He threw into the Jews’ hearts. Indeed, when Abu Lubabah the mediator approached the Jews during negotiations, the women and children were crying. Allah of course had heavily terrorized them.
            The Prophet Muhammad had already expelled two other Jewish tribes (Qaynuqa and Nadir) from Medina, and the Banu Qurayza Jews begged for for the same punishment to them. But the Islam’s prophet of peace and mercy declined this relatively more merciful and humane option.
            Such a heartless, evil incarnate was the prophet of Islam!

            Narrated by Anas:
            The Prophet offered the Fajr Prayer near Khaybar when it was still dark and then said, “Allahu-Akbar! Khaybar is destroyed, for whenever we approach a (hostile) nation (to fight), then evil will be the morning for those who have been warned.” Then the inhabitants of Khaybar came out running on the roads. The Prophet had their warriors killed, their offspring and woman taken as captives. Safiya was amongst the captives, She first came in the share of Dahya Alkali but later on she belonged to the Prophet . The Prophet made her manumission as her ‘Mahr’. Muhammad was sixty (60) when he married Safiyyahh, a young girl of seventeen. She became his eighth wife.

            Distribution Of War Booty In Khaybar:

            Sulaiman Ibne Harb…Aannas Ibne Malek (ra) narrated, “in the war of Khayber after the inhabitants of Banu Nadir were surrendered, Allah’s apostle killed all the able/adult men, and he (prophet) took all women and children as captives (Ghani mateer maal).. Among the captives Safiyya Bint Huyy Akhtab was taken by Allah’s Apostle as booty whom He married after freeing her and her freedom was her Mahr.”
            At first Dihyah al-Kalbi, a Muslim Jihadist asked for Safiyyah. But when Muhammad saw her exquisite beauty, he chose her for himself and gave her two cousins to Dihyah.

            Muhammad Horribly Tortured Safiya’s Husband To Get Information About His Hidden Gold Treasure. He Was Beheaded After He Refused To Give Up The Treasure.
            Prophet Muhammad accused Safiyyah’s husband Kinanah of hiding wealth, which he had received during his marriage with Safiyyah. A renegade Jew divulged the secret of Kinanah’s hidden gold treasures to Muhammad. Kinanah and his cousin were captured and tortured by Muhammad to extract information about the whereabouts of his treasures. He was tormented by branding his chest with a heated stake and then he was beheaded in Islamic style.
            Sourcing Ibn Ishak, Tabari writes:
            ‘Kinanah b. al-Rabi b. al-Huqyaq who had the treasure of B. Nadir was brought to the Messenger of God, who questioned him; but he denied knowing where it was. Then the messenger of God was brought a Jew who said to him, “I have seen Kinanah walk around this ruin every morning.” The Messenger of God said to Kinanah: “What do you say? If we find it in your possession, I will kill you.” “All right,” he answered. The Messenger of God commanded that the ruin should be dug up, and some of the treasure was extracted from it. Then he asked him for the rest of it. Kinanah refused to surrender it; so the Messenger of God gave orders concerning him to al-Zubayr b. al-‘Awwam, saying, “torture him until you root out what he has.” Al-Zubayr kept twirling his firestick in his breast until Kinanah almost expired; then the Messenger of God gave him to Muhammad b. Maslamah, who beheaded him to avenge his brother Mahmud b. Maslamah.”‘

            The Looted Property And Women And Children Were Distributed Among The Jihadists:
            Muhammad now allowed the Muslim Jihadists to take possession of the women and children of the Jews of Khaybar.
            Allah’s Messenger occupied the Jewish land:
            Sahih Muslim writes:Book 010, Number 3759:
            Ibn Umar (Allah be pleased with them) reported: Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) handed over the land of Khaibar (on the condition) of the share of produce of fruits and harvest, and he also gave to his wives every year one hundred wasqs: eighty wasqs of dates and twenty wasqs of barley. When ‘Umar became the caliph he distributed the (lands and trees) of Khaibar, and gave option to the wives of Allah’s Apostle (may peace be upon him) to earmark for themselves the land and water or stick to the wasqs (that they got) every year. They differed in this matter. Some of them opted for land and water, and some of them opted for wasqs every year. ‘A’isha and Hafsa were among those who opted for land and water.

            Safiya bint Huyai/Huyayy was a captive Mohammed married after slaughtering her father, brother, husband and the men at Khaibar, according to Bukhari vol.2 book 14 ch.5 no.68 p.35; vol.4 book 52 ch.74 no.143 p.92; vol.4 book 52 ch.168 no.280 p.175 and Tabari vol.39 p.185.

            Muhammad at 60 Takes 17-Year-Old Safiyah as Sex-slave

            After securing beautiful Safiyaah daughter of Huyayy for himself, Prophet Muhammad bedded her in his tent on the same night. Here is the story: Merciful Prophet asked Bilal, the Negro crier of prayer to fetch Safiyyah to his (Muhammad’s) camp. Bilal brought Safiyyah and her cousin straight across the battlefield strewn with dead-bodies, passing by the corpses of Kinana and his cousin. The two cousins of Safiyyah shrieked in horror when they witnessed the gruesome scene of the dead-bodies of their dear and near relatives. When brought to his presence, Muhammad cast his mantle around Safiyyah indicating that she was to be his own. Muhammad consoled a frustrated Dhiya by giving him Safiyyah’s cousin sisters. According to Ibn Sa’d Prophet Muhammad purchased Safiyyah from Dhiyah for seven camels. On the same night, Muhammad took Safiyyah to bed. This was, of course, an exemplary character of the holy Prophet of Islam!
            Here is what Ibn Sa’d writes:
            “-.when it was night, he entered a tent and she entered with him. Abu Ayyub came there and passed the night by the tent with a sword keeping his head at the tent. When it was morning and the Apostle of Allah, may Allah bless him.”
            To hide the lascivious character of Muhammad, Muslim biographers often mention that he married Safiyyahh before he slept with her. But they forget to mention that Muhammad did not follow the rule of waiting period (three monthly periods) to sleep with Safiyyahh. He slept with her the same day she was captured.

            “Narrated Ibn Aun:
            Prophet had suddenly attacked Banu Mustaliq without warning while they were heedless and their cattle were being watered at the places of water. Their fighting men were killed and their women and children were taken as captives; the Prophet got Juwairiya on that day and raped her.
            Juwairiya bint Harith/al-Harith was a captive in this raid, [Bukhari 3.46.13.717, p431-432]. Sahih Muslim 2.2349, p.520 says that Mohammed attacked the Banu Mustaliq tribe without any warning while they were heedlessly grazing their cattle. Juwairiya was a daughter of the chief. Sahih Muslim 3.4292, p.942 and Abu Dawud 2.227, p728 and al-Tabari 39, p.182-183 also say Juwairiya/Juwairiyyah was captured in a raid on the Banu Mustaliq tribe. She had been married to Musafi’ bin Safwan, who was killed in battle.
            Juwayriyyah bint al-Harith bin Abi Birar bin Habib, great grandson of Jadhimah al-Mustaliq of the Khuza’ah group, was taken as booty when Muslims raided the al-Mustaliq tribe. Her husband, Musafi’ bin Safwan Dhu al-Shuir bin Abi Asrb bin Malik bin Jadhimah was killed in the battle. She was a prisoner of war who agreed to marry Mohammed. al-Tabari 39:p182-183; al-Tabari 9:p133.
            Juwayriyya married Mohammed when she was 20 years old. al-Tabari 39:p184.

            Sex Slaves: Muhammad And Those His Right Hand Possesses

            That during the battle with Bani Al-Mustaliq they (Muslims) captured some females and intended to have sexual relation with them without impregnating them. The Prophet said, “It is better that you should not do it, for Allah has written whom He is going to create till the Day of Resurrection.” Qaza’a said, “I heard Abu Sa’id saying that the Prophet said, ‘No soul is ordained to be created but Allah will create it.”

            Abu Sirma said to Abu Sa’id al Khadri (Allah he pleased with him): O Abu Sa’id, did you hear Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) mentioning al-‘azl? He said: Yes, and added: We went out with Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) on the expedition to the Bi’l-Mustaliq and took captive some excellent Arab women; and we desired them, for we were suffering from the absence of our wives, (but at the same time) we also desired ransom for them. So we decided to have sexual intercourse with them but by observing ‘azl (Withdrawing the male sexual organ before emission of semen to avoid-conception). But we said: We are doing an act whereas Allah’s Messenger is amongst us; why not ask him? So we asked Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him), and he said: It does not matter if you do not do it, for every soul that is to be born up to the Day of Resurrection will be born.
            • Sunan Abu Dawud Book 11, Number 2166:
            Narrated AbuSa’id al-Khudri:
            A man said: Apostle of Allah, I have a slave-girl and I withdraw the penis from her (while having intercourse), and I dislike that she becomes pregnant. I intend (by intercourse) what the men intend by it. The Jews say that withdrawing the penis (azl) is burying the living girls on a small scale. He (the Prophet) said: The Jews told a lie. If Allah intends to create it, you cannot turn it away.
            From Quran, “…abstain from sex, except with those joined to them in the marriage bond, or (the captives) whom their right hands possess – for (in their case) they are free from blame,” Sura 23:5-6. See also Sura 4:24
            “He [Mohammed] replied, ‘Conceal your private parts except from your wife and from whom your right hands possess (slave-girls).’” [Abu Dawud vol.3, no.4006, p.1123.]
            Abu Dawud vol.3 no.4443-4445 p.1244 shows that having sex with a slave-girl a man owns is fine.
            As was typical of wealthy Arab men, Mohammed apparently had need of a few slave girls too. See Bukhari vol.7 book 64 ch.6 no.274 p.210.
            Mohammed briefly had a “very beautiful” captive before he gave her to Mahmiyah b. Jaz’ al-Zubaydi. al-Tabari vol.8 p.151
            One of the slave girls belonging to Mohammed house committed fornication with someone else. It is the “someone else” part that was a problem. Abu Dawud vol.3 no.4458 p.1249
            Mohammed called a black slave-girl to come and conceal Abu Dharr behind a curtain while he was taking a bath. Abu Dawud vol.1 no.332 p.87
            Mention Umm Ayman (=Barakah), a client (slave-girl) of the prophet. al-Tabari vol.39 p.287
            In general, Abu Dawud vol.3 no.4443-4445 p.1244 teaches that having sex with a slave-girl a man owns is OK.
            But, having sex with a wife’s slave girl is OK if the wife made her lawful for him. Note that he did not have to be married to the slave girl. Ibn-i-Majah vol.4 no.2551 p.12
            Mohammed “had intercourse with her [Mary] by virtue of her being his property.” al-Tabari vol.39, p194. Footnote 845 explains, “That is, Mariyah was ordered to veil herself as did the Prophet’s wives, but he did not marry her.”

            Conclusion

            Muhammad’s unprovoked, murderous attacks of Jewish tribes described above are acts of utter barbarity. His extermination and genocide of the whole community, such as that of Banu Qurayza, makes it worse.
            His institution of slavery as a divine order of society was one of the worst curse that could happen to humanity. Allowing sex with slave-girls made it worse. His trading of slaves, such as selling some Banu Qurayza captives in Nejd, was another evil institution.
            Muhammad engaged in all these cruel, dehumanizing and horrible acts with the divine sanctions of Allah. Muhammad and his brainchild Allah were the worst evils to befall humankind, the detriment of which continues to afflict humanity with no end in site.

I saw (my father) Az-Zubair riding his horse, going to and coming from Banu Qurayza twice or thrice. So when I came back I said, “O my father! I saw you going to and coming from Banu Qurayza?” He said, “Did you really see me, O my son?” I said, “Yes.” He said, “Allah’s Apostle said, ‘Who will go to Bani Quraiza and bring me their news?’ So I went, and when I came back, Allah’s Apostle mentioned for me both his parents saying, “Let my father and mother be sacrificed for you.”‘

            Narrated ‘Aisha: When Allah’s Apostle returned on the day (of the battle) of Al-Khandaq (i.e. Trench), he put down his arms and took a bath. By Allah, I have not put down my arms yet.” Allah’s Apostle said, “Where (to go now)?” Gabriel said, “This way,” pointing towards the tribe of Bani Quraiza. So Allah’s Apostle went out towards them.

            Narrated Abd-Allah ibn Umar: On the day of Al-Ahzab (i.e. Clans) the Prophet said, “None of you Muslims) should offer the ‘Asr prayer but at Banu Qurayza’s place.” The ‘Asr prayer became due for some of them on the way. Some of those said, “We will not offer it till we reach it, the place of Banu Quraiza,” while some others said, “No, we will pray at this spot, for the Prophet did not mean that for us.” Later on it was mentioned to the Prophet and he did not berate any of the two groups.

            Narrated Abu-Sa’id al-Khudri: When the tribe of Banu Qurayza was ready to accept Sad’s judgment, Allah’s Apostle sent for Sad who was near to him. Sad came, riding a donkey and when he came near, Allah’s Apostle said (to the Ansar), “Stand up for your leader.” Then Sad came and sat beside Allah’s Apostle who said to him. “These people are ready to accept your judgment.” Sad said, “I give the judgment that their warriors should be killed and their children and women should be taken as prisoners.” The Prophet then remarked, “O Sad! You have judged amongst them with (or similar to) the judgment of the King Allah.”

            Narrated Abd-Allah ibn Umar: Banu Nadir and Banu Qurayza fought (against the Prophet violating their peace treaty), so the Prophet exiled Bani An-Nadir and allowed Bani Quraiza to remain at their places (in Medina) taking nothing from them till they fought against the Prophet again). He then killed their men and distributed their women, children and property among the Muslims, but some of them came to the Prophet and he granted them safety, and they embraced Islam. He exiled all the Jews from Medina. They were the Jews of Banu Qaynuqa, the tribe of Abdullah bin Salam and the Jews of Bani Haritha and all the other Jews of Medina.

            Narrated Aisha: No woman of Banu Qurayza was killed except one. She was with me, talking and laughing on her back and belly (extremely), while the Apostle of Allah (peace be upon him) was killing her people with the swords. Suddenly a man called her name: Where is so-and-so? She said: I I asked: What is the matter with you? She said: I did a new act. She said: The man took her and beheaded her. She said: I will not forget that she was laughing extremely although she knew that she would be killed.

            Narrated Atiyyah al-Qurazi: I was among the captives of Banu Qurayza. They (the Companions) examined us, and those who had begun to grow hair (pubes) were killed, and those who had not were not killed. I was among those who had not grown hair.

            “The Jews were made to come down, and Allah’s Messenger imprisoned them. Then the Prophet went out into the marketplace of Medina (it is still its marketplace today), and he had trenches dug in it. He sent for the Jewish men and had them beheaded in those trenches. They were brought out to him in batches. They numbered 800 to 900 boys and men. As they were being taken in small groups to the Prophet, they said to one another, ‘What do you think will be done to us?’ Someone said, ‘Do you not understand. On each occasion do you not see that the summoner never stops? He does not discharge anyone. And that those who are taken away do not come back. By God, it is death!’ The affair continued until the Messenger of Allah had finished with them all.”

            “Then the Apostle divided the property, wives, and children of the Qurayza among the Muslims. Allah’s Messenger took his fifth of the booty.”

            “The Prophet selected for himself from among the Jewish women of the Qurayza, Rayhanah bt. Amr. She became his concubine. When he predeceased her, she was still in his possession. When the Messenger of Allah took her as a captive, she showed herself averse to Islam and insisted on Judaism.”

            “Then the Messenger of Allah sent Sa’d bin Zayd with some of the Qurayza captives to Najd, and in exchange for them he purchased horses and arms.” “The Messenger of God commanded that furrows should be dug in the ground for the Qurayza. Then he sat down. Ali and Zubayr began cutting off their heads in his presence.”

            THE GENOCIDE OF BANU QURAYZA

            Hijra year 5 (627 AD), on the orders of Prophet Muhammad, almost nine hundred Jews of a Medinan tribe named Banu Qurayza were massacred by Muslims. The killing began early in the day, ending in torchlight. Those who escaped death were taken captive and sold at slave markets.
            Qur’anic Account
            The Qur’an refers to this incident in Surah 33:
            And He brought those of the People of the Scripture who supported them down from their strongholds, and cast panic into their hearts. Some ye slew and ye made captive some. And He caused you to inherit their land and their houses and their wealth, and land ye have not trodden. Allah is Able to do all things
            Qur’an 33:26-27

            Analysis of Qur’anic Account

            The people of the scripture being referred to in the above verse, are the Jews of the Banu Qurayza tribe. The reason given for slaying them is their alleged support of the Meccans who came to fight the Muslims of Medina. A close look at the Qur’anic verses above confirms the Qur’an is mentioning this incident after its occurrence. And it is Allah accusing people of the scripture of supporting Meccans. Muslims usually justify the Banu Qurayza massacre based on these verses as they imply the tribe broke their treaty and joined the Meccans against Muslims. They argue that since breaking a treaty and fighting along with the Meccans was a treacherous act, the Jews of Banu Qurayza deserved total annihilation.
            This allegation is totally baseless, and there were no treacherous acts on Banu Qurayza’s part that could possibly justify the total annihilation of their tribe. They were being victimized for the incentives of Muhammad. This much will be made clear as we move along with the holy texts of Islam. And for this purpose it is necessary to start from where the Qur’an first mentions the battle of Khandaq (trench). The genocide in question occurred after this battle.

            “O ye who believe Remember Allah’s favor unto you when there came against you hosts, and we sent against them a great wind and hosts ye could not see. And Allah is ever Seer of what ye do”
            Qur’an 33:9

            Allah is reminding the believers of the favors he bestowed upon them. “When there came a lot to attack them, he sent a wind to turn the foes away, thus saving the believers from destruction”. The above verse implies that the enemies of Muhammad are being turned away by Allah. Doubt still remains whether the enemies were turned away before or after fighting a war. If we move with the Qur’an:
            “When they came upon you from above you and from below you, and when eyes grew wild and hearts reached to the throats, and ye were imagining vain thoughts concerning Allah”
            Qur’an 33:10

            Here, Allah reveals the state of Muslims, when they had to face a huge Meccan army. They (Muslims) started to have doubts, believing a clash with such a vast army would certainly be devastating to them. Ibn Kathir clarifies in his Tafsir:

            Ibn Jarir said: “Some of those who were with the Messenger of Allah , had doubts and thought that the outcome would be against the believers, and that Allah would allow that to happen.”

            The Qur’anic verses in conjunction with the above interpretation reveal the fact that Muhammad and his army were not at all in any position to fight a war at Khandaq (Trench). Muhammad had heard of the strength of the Meccan army much earlier, so acting upon the advice of one of his companions, Salman the Persian, there were trenches dug all around them to prevent hostile Meccans from entering Muslim territory. The battle gained the name “the war of trench” due to this tactic employed by Muhammad. The Meccans were a huge army consisting of two tribes, namely the Quraish and Ghatafans. The very fact that Muhammad adopted such an extremely defensive stance in this fight proves the weakness of the Muslim army at the time, and the strength of their foes.

            It is clear, the “war of Khandaq” was in fact a war that was never fought. Though they were huge in numbers and could have annihilated the entire population of Muslims at that time, the Meccan army had to halt at the trenches, being unable to find an entry route to the Muslim territory. Their only chance of reaching the Muslims was through the route of Banu Qurayza where Muhammad did not dig trenches, but ultimately, those who came to fight and win a war had to regress and return without success. Allah testifies in the Qur’an, he inflicted terror on the opposition by sending winds and shaking their settlements, so that they had to withdraw. Thus the Qur’an confirms the battle did not occur at all.

            Analysis of the Accounts in Hadiths

            After establishing through Qur’anic text that the war of Khandaq was never fought, it is necessary to investigate other authentic sources of Islam to discover what prompted Muhammad and his army (who had just salvaged their lives and pride without fighting a war) to turn their attentions towards the Banu Qurayza. We saw Allah himself attest to the fact he was the one who drove away the Meccans and helped Muslims escape an otherwise inevitable extermination. Let’s now turn to Ibn Kathir to find out what happened next:
            …the Messenger of Allah returned to Al-Madinah in triumph and the people put down their weapons. While the Messenger of Allah was washing off the dust of battle in the house of Umm Salamah, may Allah be pleased with her, Jibril, upon him be peace, came to him wearing a turban of brocade, riding on a mule on which was a cloth of silk brocade. He said, “Have you put down your weapons, O Messenger of Allah” He said, “Yes” He said, “But the angels have not put down their weapons. I have just now come back from pursuing the people.” Then he said: “Allah, may He be blessed and exalted, commands you to get up and go to Banu Quraiza. According to another report, “What a fighter you are! Have you put down your weapons” He said, “Yes”. He said, “But we have not put down our weapons yet, get up and go to these people.” He said: “Where?” He said, “Banu Quraiza, for Allah has commanded me to shake them.” So the Messenger of Allah got up immediately, and commanded the people to march towards Banu Quraiza, who were a few miles from Al-Madinah. This was after Salat Az-Zuhr. He said, No one among you should pray `Asr except at Banu Quraiza.
            Tafsir Ibn Kathir – The Campaign against Banu Qurayzah
            This account of Ibn Kathir is supported by sahih (authentic) hadiths:
            Narrated ‘Aisha: When Allah’s Apostle returned on the day (of the battle) of Al-Khandaq (i.e. Trench), he put down his arms and took a bath. Then Gabriel whose head was covered with dust, came to him saying, “You have put down your arms! By Allah, I have not put down my arms yet.” Allah’s Apostle said, “Where (to go now)?” Gabriel said, “This way,” pointing towards the tribe of Banu Qurayza. So Allah’s Apostle went out towards them.
            Sahih Bukhari 4:52:68

            It is evident from this account, that Muhammad and his followers were relaxed and reclining after the withdrawal of Meccan troops. The campaign against the Banu Qurayza was not on their agenda until the angel Jibreel (Gabriel) appeared with Allah’s orders. It also reveal the fact that the tribe of Banu Qurayza did not do anything atrocious to Muslims during the siege at Khandaq while the Meccan army were stranded at the trenches. Sources say the siege lasted for almost a month, but ultimately the Meccans departed without a fight. It was not possible for them to engage in battle, as the trenches were a new tactic that they had never expected from Muhammad’s side. Still they waited for a green light from the Banu Qurayza stronghold, as that was the only route to enter in which they could reach the Muslims, a green light which never appeared. Eventually losing all hope of crossing and engaging in a full-scale war which would have resulted in wiping all Muslims from the face of the earth, the Meccans retreated.

            Once the enemy had left, it was time for the Muslims to lay down their arms and relax, but not so for Muhammad. He felt it inadequate to regress without any gains. Whenever he fought a war prior to it, he and his followers emerged victorious and victory brought them booties in means of materials and human beings. Uhud was the only exception. This time, though they had survived, there was something still lacking; booty. The Meccan’s resignation left them without any.

            It was time for Jibreel to show up. Muhammad needed war booty to satisfy himself and his followers. A small fraction stationed in a castle nearby would make an easy target to acquire these means of satisfaction. So Jibreel appears with orders from Allah. “No Muhammad, you laid arms without meeting the objective.” And the prime objective here is slaughter, then the acquisition of booty through this means.

            If Banu Quraiza were in fact treacherous, Muhammad and the religion of Islam would have been buried in those trenches they had dug. That did not happen and Muhammad’s fellow warriors did not feel any need to carry on. They were not aware of any alleged treachery, for this reason they reclined once the Meccans had left. All that changed, once Muhammad intervened with the aid of Jibreel and Allah. This proves the alleged treason is nothing but a made up excuse or a pretext Muslims use in our period to justify genocide.
            Later, the warriors of Islam besieged a weak tribe for almost a month until they surrendered; Not fighting, but enduring. The siege ended with the unconditional surrender of Jews. Now the fate of the surrendered tribe lay in the hands of Muhammad.

            To recount what happened to the then subjugated tribe who were on their knees to Muhammad and his fellow warriors, let us see the details as provided in Muhammad Husayn Haykal’s The life of Muhammad:
            Banu Qurayzah sent word to Muhammad proposing to evacuate their territory and remove themselves to Adhri’at, but Muhammad rejected their proposal and insisted on their abiding by his judgment. They sent to al-Aws pleading that they should help them as al-Khazraj had helped their client Jews before them. A group of al-Aws tribesmen sought Muhammad and pleaded with him to accept from their allies a similar arrangement to that which he accepted from the allies of al-Khazraj. Muhammad asked, “O men of al-Aws, would you be happy if we allowed one of your men to arbitrate the case?” When they agreed, he asked them to nominate whomsoever they wished. This was communicated to the Jews, and the latter, unmindful of the fate that was lying in store for them, nominated Sa’d ibn Mu’adh. Sa’d was a reputable man of al-Aws tribe, respected for his sound judgment. Previously, Sa’d was the first one to approach the Jews, to warn them adequately, even to predict to them that they might have to face Muhammad one day. He had witnessed the Jews cursing Muhammad and the Muslims. After his nomination and acceptance as arbitrator, Sa’d sought guarantees from the two parties that they would abide by his judgment. After these guarantees were secured, he commanded that Banu Qurayzah come out of their fortress and surrender their armour. Sa’d then pronounced his verdict that the fighting men be put to the sword, that their wealth be confiscated as war booty, and that the women and the children be taken as captives. When Muhammad heard the verdict, he said: “By Him Who dominates my soul, God is pleased with your judgment, 0 Sa’d; and so are the believers. You have surely done your duty.” He then proceeded to Madinah where he commanded a large grave to be dug for the Jewish fighters brought in to be killed and buried.[1]

            Ibn Ishaq describes the killing of the Banu Qurayza men as follows:

            Then they surrendered, and the apostle confined them in Medina in the quarter of d. al-Harith, a woman of B. al-Najjar. Then the apostle went out to the market of Medina (which is still its market today) and dug trenches in it. Then he sent for them and struck off their heads in those trenches as they were brought out to him in batches. Among them was the enemy of Allah Huyayy b. Akhtab and Ka`b b. Asad their chief. There were 600 or 700 in all, though some put the figure as high as 800 or 900. As they were being taken out in batches to the apostle they asked Ka`b what he thought would be done with them. He replied, ‘Will you never understand? Don’t you see that the summoner never stops and those who are taken away do not return? By Allah it is death!’ This went on until the apostle made an end of them. Huyayy was brought out wearing a flowered robe in which he had made holes about the size of the finger-tips in every part so that it should not be taken from him as spoil, with his hands bound to his neck by a rope. When he saw the apostle he said, ‘By God, I do not blame myself for opposing you, but he who forsakes God will be forsaken.’ Then he went to the men and said, ‘God’s command is right. A book and a decree, and massacre have been written against the Sons of Israel.’ Then he sat down and his head was struck off.[2][3][4]
            Ibn Ishaq

            According to Ibn Kathir:

            Then the Messenger of Allah commanded that ditches should be dug, so they were dug in the earth, and they were brought tied by their shoulders, and were beheaded. There were between seven hundred and eight hundred of them. The children who had not yet reached adolescence and the women were taken prisoner, and their wealth was seized.

            Tafsir Ibn Kathir – The Campaign against Banu Qurayzah

            It is worth mentioning here, not all were lucky enough to be beheaded among Banu Quraiza. Those whose lives were spared had a worse fate awaiting them. Again from Haykal:
            The Prophet divided the properties, women, and children of Banu Quraiza among the Muslims after he had separated one-fifth for public purposes. Each man of the cavalry received two shares, one for himself and one for his horse. On that day, the Muslim force included thirty-six cavalrymen. Sa’d ibn Zayd al Ansari sent a number of Banu Qurayza captives to Najd where he exchanged them for horses and armour in order to increase Muslim military power.[5]

            These captives who were sold for horses were the women of the Banu Qurayza tribe. Ibn Ishaq confirms this:
            Then the apostle sent for Sa’d bin Zayd al-Ansari brother of bin Abdul-Ashhal with some of the captive women of Banu Qurayza to Najd and he sold them for horses and weapons.

            Muslim Apologetics

            The most common Muslim argument is that Muhammad was dealing with treachery and he had taken the maximum punitive actions against it. But this alleged treachery on Banu Qurayza’s part is very hard to accept for a rational mind. To be treacherous, Banu Qurayza must have joined the confederate army who had come to attack the Muslims. If that were the case (had Banu Qurayza joined the Meccan army) it would have ended in the total eradication of Muslims. But Abu Sufyan’s (the Meccan chief’s) words before retreating, testifies Banu Qurayza did not ally with the Meccans in a war against the Muslims. To quote Ibn Ishaq:
            Then Abu Sufyan said: “O Quraish, we are not in a permanent camp; the horses and camels are dying; the Banu Qurayza have broken their word to us and we have heard disquieting reports of them. You can see the violence of the wind which leaves us neither cooking-pots, or fire, nor tents to count on. Be off, for I am going”
            Ibn Ishaq: 683

            Besides, Muhammad nor his followers accused the Banu Qurayza of being treasonous. After Meccans left, the prophet had to bring Jibreel down to ‘testify’ that any such thing had taken place, before they even considered besieging the tribe. This attests to the fact there was no treason from the tribe that warranted their total annihilation. The account given in the Qur’an of the Banu Qurayza siding with the Muslims’ enemy at Khandaq is after the incidents occurred, not during it. Muhammad would have felt it necessary to give a reason to justify the annihilation of an entire Jewish tribe, so he came up with holy verses later.
            Another argument often brought up by Muslims is “Banu Qurayza were given the choice of deciding their judge”. They argue Banu Qurayza were massacred because of Sad bin Muadh, the arbitrator they agreed to. So Muhammad is innocent of shedding their blood.

            This argument is not without its problems:

            First of all, it is not clear from Islamic sources whether it were Banu Qurayza or their allies, the tribe of “Aws”, who agreed to Sad bin Muadh being the judge. The sahih hadith in Bukhari below points to this fact:
            Narrated Abu Said Al-Khudri: Some people (i.e. the Jews of Bani bin quraiza) agreed to accept the verdict of Sad bin Muadh so the Prophet sent for him (i.e. Sad bin Muadh). He came riding a donkey, and when he approached the Mosque, the Prophet said, “Get up for the best amongst you.” or said, “Get up for your chief.” Then the Prophet said, “O Sad! These people have agreed to accept your verdict.” Sad said, “I judge that their warriors should be killed and their children and women should be taken as captives.” The Prophet said, “You have given a judgment similar to Allah’s Judgment (or the King’s judgment).”
            Sahih Bukhari 5:58:148

            In the USC translation, “Jews of Banu Qurayza” has been given in brackets when mentioning the people agreed to accept Sad bin Muadh’s verdict. But the original Sahih Bukhari hadith in Arabic does not have this. So, it is most probably the tribe of Aus were who agreed to accept the verdict of Sa’d, not the Banu Qurayza. It does not make any sense for a subjugated people like the Banu Qurayza who were on their knees at the time to be given a choice in selecting their judge. So, the evidence we have available is against the Muslims claim that the surrendered Banu Qurayza tribe were given a choice in the case of adjudicator.

            Moreover, even if one accepts the Muslim arguments that the Banu Qurayza were given a choice in selecting their judge, it does not let Muhammad off the hook. A careful analysis of the sahih hadiths on this account reveals Saad bin Muadh was just echoing Muhammad’s intention as his verdict. Soon after Saad bin Muad gave his verdict, Muhammad rushed to applaud him stating Saad’s judged was in accordance with the judgement of Allah. Again from Sahih Bukhari:

            Narrated Abu Said Al-Khudri: The people of (Banu) quraiza agreed to accept the verdict of Sad bin Muadh. So the Prophet sent for Saad, and the latter came (riding) a donkey and when he approached the Mosque, the Prophet said to the Ansar, “Get up for your chief or for the best among you.” Then the Prophet said (to Sad).” These have agreed to accept your verdict.” Sad said, “Kill their (men) warriors and take their offspring as captives, “On that the Prophet said, “You have judged according to Allah’s Judgment,” or said, “according to the King’s judgment.”
            Sahih Bukhari 5:59:447

            Muhammad always intended to massacre the tribe, ever before Saad bin Muadh had come into the picture. He had this plan in mind when besieging the tribe. He sent an envoy (Abu Lubaba) to the Banu Quraiza fort during the siege. Below is the account of this incident as mentioned in Sirah Ibn Ishaq:
            Apostle sent him (Abu Lubaba) to them (Banu Quraiza), and when they saw him they got up to meet him. The women and children went up to him weeping in his face, and he felt sorry for them. They said, ‘Oh Abu Lubaba, do you think that we should submit to Muhammad’s judgement? He said ‘yes’ and pointed with his hand to his throat signifying slaughter.
            Ibn Ishaq: 686

            Remember, this incident occurred during the siege and Saad bin Muadh became involved in this affair after the siege. Here we see Muhammad’s envoy revealing Muhammad’s intentions to the Banu Quraiza. Again, we see a remorseful Abu Lubaba who later felt contrite for revealing Muhammad’s plan to the besieged tribe. This man soon left the place and tied himself to one of the pillars in the mosque. Again, it is recorded in Ibn Ishaq:
            Then he (Abu Lubaba) left them and did not go to the apostle but bound himself to one of the pillars in the mosque saying ‘I will not leave this place until god forgives me for what I have done’ and he promised god that he would never go to Banu Quraiza and would never be seen in a town in which he had betrayed god and his apostle

            If all that befell the Banu Qurayza were solely the fault of Saad bin Muaad, how does one deal with the account given by Ibn Ishaq? It reveals Muhammad besieged the Banu Qurayza with the intention of ethnically cleansing them.

            Another favorite argument is the Jews of Banu Qurayza were put to death according to “their own laws” within the Torah. Saad bin Muadh’s verdict matches that which is found in Deuteronomy 20:10-18 thus, Islam nor the Muslims can be blamed for it.

            In reality, Deuteronomy 20:10-18 is not the “law of the Torah.” It is a specific direction from the Judeo-Christian God for a specific program of conquest. No longer relevant, as the Promised land mentioned in the Torah had been settled. It has nothing to do with “treason,” or the treatment of treasonous allies. So if Muhammad or Saad bin Muaad had indeed applied these laws to the tribe, it was the wrong application of the wrong law to the wrong situation. Being the prophet of Allah, Muhammad could have easily annulled such a faulty application of the wrong laws.

            Besides, this argument of Muslims begs the questions:

            1. Why are the Muslims now accepting the judgment of Deuteronomy [scripture which they allege is corrupt] as righteous and just when on other occasions they attack this as being a cruel and harsh command, and a clear example of genocide?
            2. The Islamic sources say that Muhammad did not only have the fighting men killed, such as the leaders of Banu Quraiza, but also their young men who had nothing whatsoever to do with the decisions of their leaders/elders, were massacred. Why the unnecessary slaughter of innocents?

            Some Muslims claim only those who were able to fight among the tribe of Banu Quraiza were killed. According to their own sources, this is not true. How did Muhammad determine who from among the Jews were capable of fighting? See it in their sources:

            The Messenger of God had commanded that all of them who had reached puberty should be killed.[6]
            Al-Tabari: Vol 8. (p. 38)

            Another source tells us exactly how it was determined, whether a person had reached puberty or not:
            Narrated Atiyyah al-Qurazi: I was among the captives of Banu Qurayzah. They (the Companions) examined us, and those who had begun to grow hair (pubes) were killed, and those who had not were not killed. I was among those who had not grown hair.
            Abu Dawud 38:4390

            As has been shown, Muhammad testified that Saad’s verdict was in proportion to the laws of Allah. Therefore Muslims should stop attacking the Torah and instead focus on Muhammad who attested the verdict of Saad with applause.

            As a final point, it would be interesting to learn how Muhammad dealt with the Jews of Banu Qurayza prior to besieging them. Let the sources speak for themselves:
            “When the apostle approached their forts he (Muhammad) said: “You brothers of monkeys.., has god disgraced you and brought his vengeance upon you?” Banu Qurayza replied: “O Abul Qasim (Muhammad), you are not a barbarous person”

            Again from the sahih collections:
            Narrated Al-Bara: “On the day of Qurayza’s (besiege), Allah’s Apostle said to Hassan bin Thabit, ‘Abuse them (with your poems), and Gabriel is with you”

            How appropriate is it for a religious leader to abuse helpless people with words like “brothers of monkeys” and to incite his followers to do as he did? Not to mention, he traded these insults prior to besieging them.

            Conclusion

            Muslims propose many apologetic arguments to excuse this crime. The most favored argument they use is the alleged treachery of Banu Quraiza. Its flaws are evident when considering any act of treachery from this tribe would have put an end to Islam at Khandaq, and as a result, Islam would never have existed outside of Arabia.

            The excuses they forward using Deuteronomy (contained within religious scripture they themselves consider to have been altered since the incident in question), and a man who came into the picture much later, do not stand up to scrutiny, for the very reason that Muhammad had planned to slaughter the tribe before Saad bin Muadh, the arbitrator, had been invited.

            Moreover, when the latter pronounced his verdict, it was Muhammad who rushed in favor of it, proclaiming it to be Allah’s judgment. Taking all of these issues into account, there is no valid argument that can be used in its defense. After this incident, there remained not a tribe named Banu Qurayza in Arabia.
